Can you please advice me with this situation?

For those of you for whom the link doesn’t work : Here is the Content and the Context:I am currently an engineer at Amazon.I just graduated from grad school last year and its been less than year that I have joined Amazon.I recently got contacted by Google ( Interviewed with them last year and got rejected) saying that wanted to consider my application again for possibly different role.I am excited about Google contacting me. But at the same time, I would like to give myself time to prepare and also I feel it's too early for me to consider a switch. I feel I would want to stay in touch the Google and get an interview an year from now.Would that be a good idea ? Is there something I can do to help myself get some time to prepare and also grow at my current work, without losing the interview opportunity with Google?

Career advice: I am in a sticky situation. What should I do?

Good problem to have! I can try to answer this question as i have transitioned from Business Consulting to Big Data Analytics in last 3 years.Trust me, many will go through this imposter syndrome or “fake it until you make it” dilemma. In my opinion, it is ok as long as you take responsibility for your actions.Analytics is a vast field and it involves many touch points to convert data into insight and insight in to action. Know your strengths and weakness in this value chain and surround yourself with people smarter than you who can help you to make up for your weakness. And one last thing, keep learning!!! No excuse for not learning with so many options to learn on the job and online with quality content like Coursera, Khan academy, Udacity etc..Analytics is much more than rattling statistical jargons!. Business will not get excited by raw Data or P value. They need some one who can connect the dots and convert data into dollars and ‘ p’ value into profits!. All the best.

What should I do about this job offer situation?

I just got hired today at Safety Pro, Inc as an office manger. After I accepted the offer, they told me that it would cost $60 to be on the payroll, do a background check with training involved. They did not tell me how long the training is, and if there is any additional cost involved. I told them, I will think about it, and get back to you soon. They responded to hurry before the position is filled. The company did not even ask for my resume or reference even though they requested me to bring it prior to the interview. So what do I do? Is this a scam or this is for real that I am lucky to get hired?

Do you have any advice or tips to help me get by if I'm 23 and am a highschool dropout, about to be homeless, and am unemployed?

Here are some helpful tips and tricks:I assume that you are living in your car, so my advice is to park in a Walmart or any other big department store parking lot for a safe, secure place to sleep.Shower at your gym daily, in order to remain in a presentable state.DO NOT take your mother’s words to heart! In my opinion, it is very wrong of her to compare you and your brother as everybody has their own quirks and talents.Freelancing is very unreliable yet lucrative if done correctly. So until you figure out how to do it correctly, hold any job that will help you pay rent.Try to obtain a GED in order to be eligible for more job opportunities.AVOID DRUGS AND ALCOHOL.Get free wifi at your local starbucks.Avoid ANY criminal activity or behavior.Shop at any thrift store (Goodwill) to keep yourself looking presentable and healthy.Try to eat healthy if it is possible.Don’t succumb to insults. People will make fun of you (mother). Ignore those people, they are cancerous and you are much better off without them in your life.Work your hardest to land job interviews.Check Craigslist every once in awhile to find some odd jobs in order to make some extra money.Never give up. I know your situation seems bad right now, but it will get better if you work hard and think positively.I wish you good luck in the future.Regards,Ishan Deshpande

In need of advice about 401k plan, please help?

I am eligible to start a 401k plan at work, but I don't know if I should. Someone please give me some wise advice. My situation is this: I am a 22 year old college student with a part-time job (20 hours a week/ 10.50 per hour). I don't make much to begin with and if I start the 401k plan a little amount of money out of every paycheck is going to be taken out plus not to mention taxes which usually comes out to be 30 dollars out of every paycheck. ( i get paid weekly). I want to start it but then I really won't be making much at work. Is it worth doing it for me or should I just wait until I graduate from school in 2 years and am able to get a full time job?

Could you suggest something for this situation? Really need advice.

What salesman jobs should I go for in my situation?

I'm seeking advice on what sales jobs I should apply for considering my experience and situation.

I have several years experience in retail and the restaurant industry.
I am extremely talented at selling musical instruments online to hobbyist and even learned to repair them, and know to learn the product and read forums and research what I'm selling, including market value.
But it has grown very difficult to make a living selling musical instruments in my area so I want a real sales job.

I learned a lot of sales basics selling publications door to door. I trained at AT&T
for door to door sales, but I didn't stick with it as the technology was too complicated for me at the moment.

I've since then done woodworking and operated cnc machines and worked at several factories in production assembly for various temp agencies.

I'm 30 attended high school for 4 years but never achieved a diploma or GED.

I'm wondering if I do get a GED will employers know that I only recently obtained it? Will this look bad?

I am currently in the process of buying salesman books and will start studying sales techniques and such.

I am hoping to get a job selling ceiling fans or lamps, furniture or maybe mattresses.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
