Help With Making My Poem Better Any Ideas Would Be Great.

Help! Best Man with anxiety - is the following speech even remotely funny? (I would follow it with some heartfelt stuff)?

So I thought it best that I tell you about my brother tonight through a little poem I wrote about him; this seemed like a much better idea at home than it does now in front of 100 people, but here it goes.

Big Brother – a poem by X
• Playing video games as kids, when it was my turn who’s the guy who would club me over the head with the controller and threaten to kill me if I told mother – big brother
• When told by mom to include his little brother more, who’s the guy that invented a game with his friends in which little brother is given a ten-minute head start, is then hunted, then pelted with ice balls like no other – big brother
• Who’s the guy at the age of 16 that when he didn’t shave for a week I assume made other parents think a homeless guy had snuck into the high school, making them shutter – big brother
• A zoologist who worked at a reptilian venom farm, yet in my basement cried and screamed like a little girl at the sight of a squirrel – big brother.
o To be fair on that one, I cried too. It was kind of a sneak attach situation.

Hydrogen poem any ideas?

IF I were you, this is how I would handle it. Make it a story of the life of a hydrogen molecule. Hydrogen is a very light molecule so you could talk about how you're floating above all of the other elements. And the hydrogen molecule makes up around 90% of the universe (by weight), so you could make it into a romantic poem. The poem could be through the eyes, or perspective, of a hydrogen molecule and you're looking for your soul mate (which would be another molecule). And say that you found a good match molecule to be your "mate" (which would be another hydrogen molecule). But since the hydrogen molecule is (at standard pressure and temperature) colorless, odorless, and tasteless; you found just that other molecule too boring. So you met a oxygen molecule to "spice things up" a little bit. And when you all compounded together, you created H2O!!!

And talk about how it was such a magical moment when you all compounded together and took on a solid form of water.

That's how I would do it.
Make it a love poem haha.

And remember, poems don't always have to rhyme. I think if you mention that hydrogen is colorless, tasteless, and odorless, that could somewhat rhyme. But every sentence doesn't have to rhyme. Just compose all of these facts and ideas with a poetic type feel or "flow" to it.

Have your parents read my answer and I'm sure they can take it from there. To help you compile it all together.
Hope this helps! :)

What is a good epic poem idea?

My english teacher has requested we write an epic poem of which we will also be creating a short film for at the end of the assignment. It has very little guidelines, as it can be about anything school appropriate as long as we can make that into a poem. The only problem is, my group sucks when it comes to creativity like this, so we have no idea what to do. We played with the idea of taking a story like Cinderella or something and changing the ending or something, which would be fine although we didn't have any ideas for that either and I would prefer an "original" story that one of you fools came up with. All I need is an idea, but thanks for the help! :)

I need to write a poem that will impress my teacher...?

in class we are making a portfolio of poems we wrote that will be given to our next year teacher to read all of them to see how good they are and where we are at. i really love writing poems that make people think about the meaning without making it too obvious what the meaning is is my goal but thats kind of hard for me. I also like giving a good picture and make it sound graceful. I am a good writer when i write books and poems when i really mean them and when i am on-a-roll of an idea. What are some tips or if someone can help me start one?? that would be great! thank you so much!
This is a quick-write i made during class

Feelings I Want to Escape From: By Lauren Tallichet - (feeling) fear

As I take one step off the world that haunts me,
I do nothing but close my eyes.
My troubles and worries escape me
as the wind let’s me fly.
I float through clouds,
spread out my arms.
I am as free as a bird and as far as a star
as I forget the challenges I face.
It is my mind and I against the world
and nothing can change that.

I like this one because it is sort of deep and without knowing it was about skydiving, one may assume this...

I need help with a acrostic poem the word id NANA?

i am making a gift for my mother for Christmas. I am using the word NANA. I was going to frame it and give it to her. I don't have the money to get her anything. So i thought the best a mom can get is a homemade one. So if you have any ideas that would be great.
