Is tattoo gonna be a problem for CIVILS (IAS, IPS) selection?
There is no provision given for the tattoos in the official notification released by the UPSC CSE, apart from like that of army notification which clearly says " There should be no tattoo or any kind of religious mark on your body".Secondly, if you’re having tattoo also just make sure it is not visible during the time of interview , as it leads to questioning and may cause or lead to less marking in the interview which may affect your overall score. after your interview then you proceed for your medical tests, and interview is basically one of the most scorable stages (where marking directly effects the rank).Tattoo’s are a point of the judgement just during the interview if they are visible and in sight of a board member but your tattoo will not be a problem if you wear full sleeves.The most important thing, stop thinking about these things and don't be uncertain of things that don't really matter.. Just be clear what you want to achieve your doubts like tattoo can’t become obstacles into your preparation.There are many aspirants i know who have a tattoo (Big tattoos like whole arm and neck)yet they are concentrating on studies.JUST KEEP MOVING LIKE A RIVER, Don't create boulders out of your doubts.

During the reporting day at the SSB, the tester JCO will ask whether anyone has a body tattoo and distribute a particular form in which you have to mention it’s details.Body tattoo is permissible on some body parts, I am not aware of where it is permitted, but I’ll recommend you to get the body tattoo treated before you attend the SSB as you might get a TR during the medicals if you get recommended.All the best!
