Hey Guys I Am Frm India . I Am New To Fish Keeping

My glofish is twitching and breathing hard.?

A test kit is basically like a little chemistry set designed to test for the chemicals that are present in your tank. This will help you track your nitrogen cycle and general health of the tank. You should have one before you even buy the fish. Don't buy the strip tests, buy a good dropper test kit. It will run you about 30-50$ but will last a reallly really long time and giv eyou hard, reliable answers. Strip tests are trash.

I would do a 50% water change at least. Are you conditioning (treating it for chemicals) BEFORE you put it in the tank? Most fish problems (and especially the one you are describing) are due to poor water quality. It could also be your temp.

TAKE CARE OF THE WATER AND IT WILL TAKE CARE OF THE FISH!

New betta fish not eating, sitting in one corner?

Hi,

I bought a new male betta 6 days back. He is put in a 12 litres tank and i have partially changed water twice.
He has not eaten anything since he was bought. I have been trying to feed him pellets soaked in garlic juice. Still he shows no interest at all.
For the past 2 days, he has been very inactive, sleeping all the time between the plants. Or he stays in 1 corner of the tank all the time.
He mostly stays near the surface. Whenever I watch him from over the tank he becomes afraid and sinks to the bottom.

I am new to breeding fishes, and he is my first fish. I am afraid he is sick and might die in a few days, unless i do something. The pet store from where i bought him have no clue about his problem. They say he seems healthy. They do not have any medicines as well.

Kindly advice me what to do. Urgently Please !!!

Out of 200 fish in an aquarium, 99% are red. How many red fishes must be removed in order to reduce at 98%?

This is very easy question you have just to make equation than it will be solved easily. Number of red fish = 99% of 200 = 198. Let the number of red fish removed be x. 198 - x = 98% of 200 - x[math]\Rightarrow 198 - x = 98/100 * 200 - x[/math][math]\Rightarrow 19800 - 100x = 19600 - 98x[/math][math]\Rightarrow 19800 - 19600 = 100x - 98x[/math][math]\Rightarrow 200 = 2x \Rightarrow x = 100[/math]So, we have to remove 100 red fish so the number of red fish in total become 98%. It is quit unbelievable answer, the difference of percentage is 1 but the difference in number is 100. Check out this question: How can we prove 1=2?Edit 3: Aarabdh Tiwari (आरब्ध तिवारी) requested for better explanation for why I subtracted x from both side. The x is number of fish(only red) removed so the percentage of red fish become 98% of total remaining fish which is (200-x). So, the 98% of total remaining fish is equal to remaining red fish which is (198 - x). That’s why equation become 98% of (200-x) = (198-x). I anyone still have any doubt please comment.

Can you mix Oranda's and common goldfish together?

No. Orandas are Fancy Goldfish, and so are long finned, slower moving, and docile. Fancy Goldfish should never be kept with Common Goldfish which grow to be huge, are fast moving, and can be aggressive to smaller/long finned fish.

For the 2 Common Goldfish alone, you're looking at a bare minimum of 100 gallons. Bigger is better. Really, because of their size and activity levels, Common Goldfish are best suited for ponds.
The 2 Orandas could live in 30 gallons.

All Goldfish tanks should be equipped withfiltrationn rated for at least double the aquariums volume.

Good luck.
