Hey Guys Im Upgrading My Pc Is This A Good Motherboard

I have 2x 4gb RAM sticks in my motherboard. If I buy two more sticks and put them in the remaining slots, would that be a problem in any way?

Well... it *could* be a problem, if your motherboard had an 8gb limitation.  Let me just check.  Hmm...  Ah... er... I don't know how to tell you this, so I'm just going to come straight out with it.We can't tell.  Nope.  I've looked, and I've looked, and I just cannot find the make and model of your motherboard, so I can look up what the RAM limitation is.  I must have lost it here somewhere.  I mean, if you didn't include that kind of information... when asking for specific information relating to your specific problem... it must have been because I had that info here somewhere.So... my bad.  I didn't mean to lose it.  When did you give it to me again?  Remind me.  Maybe if I knew when you gave it to me, I'll be able to find what stack I put that in.ANYway... while I'm looking, you can always look up the RAM limitation at the motherboard manufacturer's site.  Hey... if your computer is branded by some company, maybe they'll have the info on how much RAM your board is limited to.It is likely that you'll be OK.... so just go ahead with it.  Worst case scenario?  You just return the new RAM, right?

Is the 0XR1GT motherboard compatible with pci-e 3.0 ?

hey guys , i have my dell inspiron 660 mini tower , ive been wondering, can i upgrade my inspiron 660 graphics card to gtx 660? my current graphic card is nvidia geforce gt 640 pci-e 2.0 , the motherboard link width is x16 , thats my question and im sorry for my bad english and im still a noob at this stuff , thanks guys :D

Graphics card Compatibility with motherboard.?

Hi guys, another computer question:

Im thinking about upgrading my Graphics Card, but require some help on what graphics card will be compatible with my motherboard. I currently have:
NVidia GeForce 8600GT + 1GB
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40ghz
4GB DDR2
MCP73VT-PM Mainboard (http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socket775/ecsMCP73VT-PM.shtml)
580 gb internal hard drives, 1.5tb external.
My power Supply is currently rubbish, kicking out 115w (i am upgrading to a much more powerful one before the graphics card).

Does anyone know any of any decent graphics cards that could run top end new games (such as Just Cause 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2), and is relatively future proof (say 2 years) that would be compatible with my system. I am also upgrading to a larger case.

ATI or NVidea, and please not over £150

Many thanks

Can using too much ram damage my motherboard?

Hi,

I couldn't find the specs for the D946DGZIS board but I found the D946GZIS specs, which I'm assuming is the board you have.

That motherboard supports a maximum of 4GB of RAM. If you try and put in 8GB of RAM, then the motherboard will not complete it's Power On Self Test (Post), which is what they do when you first power them on and you get the system beeps.

That motherboard does support the processor you are thinking of upgrading to, but with a quick BIOS update, it'll support some of the earlier revision Core2Duo models, like the E6700. It has a significantly lower clock speed at 2.66ghz, but it is actually a much faster processor whilst also will run cooler and use less power too.

Hope this helps :)

Motherboard DH55HC, VGA compatibility?

How about you tell us what the card actually is and tell us what power supply you have before asking if you should upgrade or not. What do you think we are, psychic?

Yes, that motherboard will support a VGA card with GDDR5, the only way I know that is because a GDDR5 video card can only be PCI-Express v2.0 or v2.1.

CPU Upgrade: From AMD Athlon II X4 630 to ?

Most likely your current AM3 socket motherboard will not support a CPU upgrade worth investing in....
An old 125W AMD Phenom II x6 1090 would be the best you can get, and that's outdated already....
And that's not even guaranteed to be supported by your old motherboard, as your current CPU is a 95W and that Phenom is a 125W.
Plus, for $200 it's not worth it...
Newer 3rd generation Ivy Bridge Intel Core i5-3570K is $230 and a much, much better processor.

If you want to buy a new motherboard, I suggest upgrading to Intel Core i5-3570K with an LGA1155 socket, Z77 chipset motherboard. Total cost under $350.
You gaming PC will perform much, much better than with any AMD processor.

I'm buying a new computer. Should I go with 4GB RAM or 8GB RAM?

TLDR:4GB is all you need as long as you are not a multi-tasker.8GB is ideal for normal multi-tasking and gaming12GB is for heavy multi-tasking.16GB or more is for heavy gaming or professional software that needs a lot of RAM like Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, etc.My dad has a 4GB laptop with Windows 10. He only uses Microsoft Word, e-mail on Chrome and stuff like Power Point (he is a lawyer and a teacher). As long as he is not using many apps at a time, he is just fine. However, if you start using a lot of Chrome tabs and many programs at the same time, memory starts to pile up and the laptop starts slowing down.If you have the money, get 8GB and (talking about storage) an SSD. Avoid Hard Drive Disks for Windows 10, you’ll be better with an SSD, way better. In my opinion, no average user or gamer should need more than 8GB of RAM, and no professional should use less than 16GB.
