Hi Am A Banker Recently Joined A Psu

Should one leave a software job for a government job?

I would like to answer it appropriately. After B.tech, I had 3 offers in my hand.TCS- 3.25LTATA POWER- 3.8LDRDO (Central Govt job) - 2.65L (Pay revision pending w.e.f 1.1.2006, after pay revision it had become approximately 4L).Being a mechanical engineer, I outrightly rejected TCS from my mind. Parents, friends and relatives were pressurising me to join DRDO for obvious reasons. DRDO was giving me a Class I Gazzetted officer post in Grade B scientist designation. But I dont want to be a scientist. I know, I am not a scientist type of engineer and didnot want to pursue that career just because of govt and secured job.I joined TATA POWER. But within few months I understood that in Pvt sector compettition is too high. An MBA from A class institution can give u a better package and balanced life. Though I liked the job profile in TATA POWER but I understood future was not bright without MBA. I had no money for MBA and also had some liabilities and responsibilities.I enriched my knowledge about power plant and tried for some Automobile companies and PSUs which are located at cities (Metro cities and other cities where malls, multiplexes and restaurants are available). After one year I got an offer from an Oil PSU with 7.5 L CTC and posting at tier 2 city where all relaxation amenities are available. And what I liked most is, I got a better job profile in my new job. What I want to say is, dont go by govt job or money. Do what you like to do and what you expect from life. I am not a person who aims to settle or work in abroad. But I do love to visit some foreign destinations. I love to travel so leaves are important to me. CTC should be enough to lead a decent life. I still see my 26 inch television.Always take decisions on behalf of life not on career or money. Its life that rules the world neither career nor money. Do what you love. Love what you do.

I am 28, Married working as PO in Indian public sector bank. My job kills me. Does quitting make sense?

At first i was engineer.i have 0 interest in coding.Mine was computer science..the day I got degree from college I left the town..I was placed in a company..I didn’t join..why?because I thought if I didn’t enjoyed studying computer science for 4 years how will I enjoy working as a software engineer for the rest of my life..I quit..then what to do..I was always interested in Gov job..I prepared for 3 month..and I got to crack many exams but final selection was in 2 bank..SBI and IDBI..I joined SBI..after working for 3 years at SBI I realised that I can influence people to do better ..people will listen to me ..when every staff in my bank refuse to do some legitimate work people looks at me as last resort..I like helping people..then I realise why not make profession of helping people to get out of their misery..i start looking for the option and then I find becoming IAS,IPS is the best thing that can directly help people..this was the best shot..I took risk again..at age of 29 I resigned from SBI and now preparing for upsc..so take risk in your life..if you succeed then you can lead the people,if fail you can guide the people…you get life for once only..do whatever you want, so that you never get a chance for compunction that what would have my life been if I had done that one thing..

What is the salary and promotion process of a bank PO?

Bank PO Career and PromotionsBank POs also have a quick career progression as compared to other industries. With a little bit of hard work and dedication, IBPS PO Salary can be almost doubled in just a few years.Probationary Officer is a starting level post of any officer in a bank. As a Bank PO, you will probably spend a duration of two years on probation. It is also your training period where you will learn the fundamentals of the bank and different types of work required of a bank officer. After completing your probation period, you will be subjected to a screening process. Based on your performance, the department will promote you to the next higher level of Middle Management Grade Scale II. And those Bank POs who do not perform well will be assigned as the Junior Management Grade Scale-I Officer. For detail SBI PO SALARY and PROMOTION visit to the following Link:SBI PO Salary 2018 Along with SBI PO Promotion Chart

What is the transfer policy of a probationary officer (PO) of the State Bank of India (SBI)?

Well, during probation you are required to go through atleast 3 different centers for training. That is through 3 cities or basically rural or semi urban centers. Take, for example, my probation. I'm a 2015 batch PO and currently stationed at Barwaha, some 65 kms from Indore in MP (read Bhopal Circle). After joining my first branch in Bhopal, I stayed there for 10 months, for cell trainings etc. Then I was posted in Manasa, Neemuch for Agriculture training. More than 400 km from Bhopal and on the border of Rajasthan for 2 months. Then for final year, I was sent to Barwaha for passing branch training. This is a small town. As the passing branch place has to be Rural or semi urban. So basically as a PO you're required to go through 3 centers. And what happens after probation? Bank follows 2–3 year transfer policy that is, If you stay at a particular branch, office, center for some 2 to 3 years. Then HR will definitely issues your transfer orders. It is possible that you might be sent to a new city or town or kept within the same city or town, it is up to the conscious of the HR.The job is definitely challenging and the bank will never allow you to settle down at any place or branch or center or cell for more than 3 years. As for the female gender, things get somewhat easier as the HR does consider your parents or husband place of stay and gives you posting near their place of stay. Or keep you near the big cities that is Bhopal, Indore and Raipur in the case of Bhopal Circle.Hope this helps!!!
