Hi Guys I Have A Big Thing Growing In My Hears Since I Brought A Hear Ring From The Mall It

What do you think of men wearing earrings?

Both of you are right on target. Sean, your story brought back a lot of memories! I had my left ear pierced at 39 in 1991. I thought maybe I was too old, but just wanted to do it and thought it would be cool to wear an earring. As you well know, it took balls for a guy to get his ear pierced back in those days. It was becoming more common, but older people in particular really frowned on it. I remember vividly being in the mall and walking up to Piercing Pagoda and saying I wanted to get my ear pierced. I was very nervous and embarrassed and must have turned beet red! Sounds crazy now, doesn’t it? But when I looked in the mirror and saw that stud in my ear I really liked it and figured I made a good decision. At first I wouldn’t wear the earring in front of family and friends, only when I was on vacation. After awhile I kind of lost interest and stopped wearing it. Later I found that I missed it, had my ear re-pierced, and this time wore an earring pretty regularly. It turned out I got practically no reaction from anyone except a few buddies who liked to tease me about it which was cool with me. Fast forward to 2008. By this time I was 56 but looked and dressed a lot younger than my age. I was in the mall — a different mall — with my 17 year-old nephew, who wore an earring in each ear and still does. We passed by Claire’s — pretty girly and creeped me out! — and saw a guy in the window getting both ears pierced. My nephew teased me into getting my right ear done and so I impulsively “took the plunge.” Also had a second piercing in the left ear. Totally glad I did. At 65 I still look pretty good and still wear my earrings — small studs or small silver hoops in both ears and a second stud in the left. Sometimes I revert to the old style and wear just an earring or two in my left ear. Can’t wear them to work but otherwise wear them a lot. I’m glad young guys now don’t have to go through all the hang-ups we had and the embarrassment we had to go through about something as trivial as a couple of holes in their ears. Pretty mainstream nowadays. It baffles me that many still make such a big deal out of it. As J.T. said, it’s only a jewelry choice.

Im getting my industrial pierced tomorrow?

Well, i had my industrial a year ago.

The first thing i shall say is that pain differs for everyone - alot of people say industrials hurt, whereas mine wasn't too painfull at all.
Usually, the needle isn't what hurts to much. Healing a industrial with a bar causes alot of strain on the ear, hense it takes along time to heal ( most times 1 1/2 year) .

Industrials are done in either ways:

1. The same needle is used for both piercings
2. Two seperate needles are used.

There has been no evidance to suggest one is less painfull then the other, so i wouldn't worry so much on that one.
If you feel you don't have a high pain tollerance, then request to you're piercer to heal the industrial in two seperate BCR's , as i stated above the bar can cause healing problems for some people.

Some places will numb you're ear if it's requested, so if you want it to be numbed, best thing to do is ring them and ask for it.

Usually, you arn't allowed to listen to music during, however a good piercer will talk you through it, and will keep you at ease.

It's a sharp pinch ,then it's over :)

It's common to feel a strong burning sensation afterward - this may continue for a week or so but it should go.

You're ear is also going to be very red and swollen. You won't be able to touch it too much, or sleep on it. If you wear glasses, then also take care. It's also really important to take care when brushing you're hair etc.

Clean it 3 x daily with a saline solution ( that your piercer should be able to supply) . You can also use a rock/sea salt solution (1/4 cup of luke warm water with 1 - 2 tsp of rock/sea salt).

Just remember not to change the jewerly till it's fully healed , which takes 6 months - 2 years

hope everything goes well :)

Piercings (which side)? Does it Matter / Mean anything?

hey, well i use to have my eyebrow a month back, i had it on the left side. because i guess people think having it on the right means you're guy( but i think this follows more to boys than girls) and for you lip, it doesnt matter which side, chose one thats right for you, ( i have my lip and its on the right, since i have my nose pierced on the left :] )
yes there are things you should know, i had both periced my eyebrow and my lip.. makec sure you take well care of your eyebrow and clean it, try not playing with it.. also get a ring that will not infect it ( i had a stright stick.. not the curvy kind.. and it tighten it up, and it swelled so badly!!.. this was 2 months ago, and i still have a red mark there .. i have bangs covering it but still :[ ).. as for you lip, the effects are pretty much harder to eat ( my peircer said no dairy products for 2 days because of the bacteria. and not to move it at all, also to use mouth wash after every time you eat) its not bad as bad as it sounds.. and its normal if it gets a little red and infected the first 2 -5 days.. mine was A LITTLE no one noticed and its fine.. after the next day i started moving a bit so it can get use to it.
Anywayss hope this helped :D
good luck !! xx
P.S DO WHAT YOU WANT. others will like it. some wont. who cares you live once. its not like your gonna have it in forever until your're like 100 years old lol
