Dog with possible Glaucoma, (pressure reading of 25) Is Gentamicin durafilm drops, the right treatment?

Our dog just left the vet, with a diagnosis of possible glaucoma. We cant be sure since he was POSSIBLY pepper sprayed friday and the vet says that the pressure reading of 25 could be high due to the 'possible' injury or may be glaucoma.
She says that the normal pressure test is between 11-25...

SO....she wants Gentamicin durafilm drops in his eyes 4 times a day for a week and then recheck.

I'm just wondering if anyone here (maybe a vet) thinks this sounds like the right thing to do, or should I get a second opinion? Any simuliar experiences maybe?
thanks.

Can someone live in an RV full-time?

I have many friends who live in RV's full time.

Most RV's have three storage tanks, one for clean water, one for grey water, which is from sinks and showers, and one for black water, which is for the toilet. If you are running on the tanks and not hooked up full time, you only need to fill the tank and make sure you have a 12 volt source for the pump. Heat and hot water are gas. The refrigerators are usually dual or tri powered and can run on gas or 110v ac power and in a lot of cases also 12v dc power. But it will suck your power out of your battery quickly.
Most campgrounds have a section for full time RV's. Some state parks allow you to stay full times but not in the same place for more than 30 days. Federal land is also a great place to park an RV. National forests are federal land. Again they have restrictions on how long you can stay parked in the same place. Usually 90 days to 6 months for federal land. If you have an Indian Reservation nearby you can talk to them and they may let you park there for free as well. I know here, they allow it but only if you ask first. Yes, even non Native Americans. I know of many places in California that you can park for free, but I am not sure where Orange County is. If your mom is willing to move out of state, Yuma, AZ has a great place to RV's along Interstate 10 There she would have a lot of full time RV people to help her out.

If you are going to put it on a free space invest in a couple of solar panels and even a small wind generator to keep the batteries charged. A small gas powered generator for back up is also nice to have. Clean water will be the hardest thing to keep. Water tanks on RV's vary in size. None are larger than 250 gallons though. You could think about going to the farm supply store for a larger tank. But you would still need to refill it from time to time.
If you park the RV near a creek with fairly clean water you could get a small 12v pump to pump in the water to the tank, and she could use that for her showers and toilet, and just buy her drinking water. If she is homeless I assume she can get food stamps and she can get the one gallon jugs of water for under $1. 30 gallons should last her a month.

If you can think of anything else you would like to ask, I am familiar with RV living, you can e-mail direct at assethole@yahoo.com

Is there PA law that allows parents to force their minor child (15) into drug rehab?

To answer your question specifically, as a parent you have nearly total control of your child until the child turns 18 (age of majority in your state). And yes, you can put them into drug rehab against their will if they have a drug problem and it is in their best interest (make sure the facility is licenced and the licence is current!).

The problem is that some facilities are more "liberal" in their approach and they may not accept a child who has to be foribly treated. And you can't just go out and pick a facility...you have to research them all to find out the best one for your child! Personally, I think what you should be looking for is a more "authoritarian" facility...less on the touchy-feely and more on the "you do as I say" approach. And of course, one that supports parental authority/rights.

Try Utah as it is very much a "parental rights" state. Or you could try a one of the states in the Bible Belt....like Texas, Alabama, Georgia. Mississippi is a good one as the age of majority there is 21. There can be a lot of "physical correction" in the Bible Belt so be careful and get references AND before you do anything, check them out with their state boards as there have been some less than reputable agencies out there.

Good luck!
