Highschool Vs College Soccer

How good is NJCAA soccer compared to highschool?

It depends on the specific school (not just their record last season), the league/division they are in (I realize NJCAA is the league, but most JCs play semi-local competition), and where the school is located (for example, in general a JC in California will have a better soccer program than a JC in Minnesota).

For that matter, your high school makes a difference too. I've seen D3 high schools in some places that are better than D1 high schools.

It also depends on your playing skills. Were you dominant in a bad league? If so, that would make a difference.

For lack of more information though, I would say there is a shot. I've seen many players from D3 high schools play at JCs. Heck, I played at a D3 high school myself and one of my teammates went pro. Bottom line, keep your skills up, practice, hustle hard, and have the right attitude, and you'll make it.

College soccer Tryouts.?

What you are trying to do is called "walking on". There are almost always at least one or two "walk ons" on every team, so yes, you can make the team even if you're not scouted (recruited).

I was actually asked almost the exact same question last year. Here is the advice I gave them:

How do college soccer showcases work?

For most D-1 schools
Well first you have to be:
1.) The first or second best player on your team.
2.) Research schools and tell them where and when you are playing.

Perform your best and make everything you do 100%. They will most likely call you or email you instead of talking to you right after the game so don't be worried if they don't.

If you're truly good enough you'll get scouted. If not, don't worry about it, life goes on.

How do I make the high school girls soccer team with only three years of playing when others have played club for years?

I coached high school soccer for 2 years. The one person I would never cut would be the one who outworks everyone else. She would be the first one to practice and the last one to leave. She would be the one who asked me for advice to improve her game. She would be the one who also has good endurance, which can be improved by some long distance running. In addition, she would be a highly supportive teammate who encourages others. If you are trying to make the team, and you do this, you should be fine. If you did all of this and didn't make it on the team, the coach doesn't know what it takes to build a team of "winners". Also, if you did all of this and still get cut, you can know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you gave it your 100%. Good luck.

Do College Soccer coaches accept players that didn't play High School Soccer?

So I want to try out for my college soccer team, and the school plays in the NJCAA, but I'm wondering if the coach will even consider me because I never played high school soccer, or in a club.

I'm taking a SOCCER THEORY class taught by that coach in the spring, but I don't know if I should ask him, it could make me look bad.

Any college coaches out there or high school coaches that can answer the question? Or maybe you never played high school but are on your college team?

I’m a freshman in high school. I only play soccer but I want to quit and join the coding club. Will this affect my chances of getting into a good college?

No… and yes? Depends on what you want to do at college, if you were attempting to get a athletic scholarship to play Soccer then I would say your being silly. I would suggest doing both, there are so many college applicants with stellar G.P.A’s that schools are looking at extracurricular and other aspects. If you can’t do both and you prefer the coding club over Soccer, follow your heart. From a academic standpoint I would say it is a good idea.Very important!!! Do not skip on exercise. Here’s some advice that I didn’t take to heart when I was your age but really appreciate now. Find three hobbies you love: One to make you money, one to keep you in shape, and one to be creative. Since you’re a kid the first one isn’t necessarily applicable, but the other two play an important role in this conversation. You SHOULD pick up coding if you’re interested, but you SHOULDN’T drop soccer, unless you don’t enjoy it. If they conflict with each other, find other avenues of physical activity, but try to balance your mind, your body and your spirit. Fulfilling the wishes of the mind or the body help the spirit, helping the spirit creates a fulfilling life. Good luck.

Can u get drafted into the mls(pro soccer) straight out of high school?

Only if you go through an academy, but unless you're immensely talented, you're better off going to college than trying to get drafted out of high school. Most U.S. born pros went to college.
