LACMA Go there on a weekday and walk around the grounds. Bring a picnic. Enjoy the equally cool architecture, and the quiet. The Getty Center GardensParking is cheap (or free, depending on the day) and there's no charge for entry. You can visit the grounds at sunset in the summer and see some LA's best views of the ocean. Bring a picnic and hang out on the gardens out back. It's a good spot for a date. Palos VerdesBeholds LA's most beautiful parks, tide pools, coastal drives, and point breaks. Zoo in Griffith ParkGreat place to hang out with friends, or just explore.  It's equally cool and spooky. The Kibitz Room in Canter's Deli This dive bar is a classic LA hangout. I love its personality. Also known to be a favorite among grizzled Hollywood musicians. The Library Bar at the Roosevelt HotelThis might not be a secret among the barhoppers, but for those who are looking for some of the most incredible mixology out there, it's worth a try. You'll find the bartenders behind a mountain of herbs, fruits and assorted juices. Could you make taser resistant gloves?

Chainmail gauntlets. There's basically two ways you'd try to resist a taser:1. prevent the barbs from reaching the skin.2. provide a low-resistance conduction path for the electricity so that it goes around you rather than through the skinBoth Chainmail or full-plate armor, both of which were designed to provide some resistance to projectiles, and both of which are made of metal, potentially providing quite good resistance to taser.Who would have thought: Medieval knights are resistant to modern non-lethal weaponry.

What are some clever last-minute Halloween costume ideas?

You could be a ghost (everyone has a white sheet somewhere in their house), but that’s not exactly clever. Too traditional.—Here’s a fun one: Get a white shirt, write “LIFE” on it in black marker, and buy a bag of lemons. There, you now have a “when life gives you lemons” costume.(Bonus points if you chuck the lemons at people’s faces.)Or instead, if you can find a reindeer antler headband (the Christmas kind that sometimes have bells on them), a black marker, and some brown clothes, you can be “OH DEER!”Not “oh dear.” It’s “oh deer.”Dress in brown, slap that headband on, and write “OH” on your face or shirt. Draw stuff (preferably deer pelt patterns with brown face paint) onto your face for that extra touch.—If you’re going with a friend, and you two want to be matching, they can be “HOLY COW!” Holy mackerel also works, but it’s harder to dress up as a fish.Deck out in all white clothes, cut out black blobs from paper/fabric and pin them on, and find an angel halo along with a cow ears headband. Your sister’s pair of angel wings from five years ago complete the outfit.(Angel halos and cow ears are easy to make, so don’t take out your wallet just yet!)An accessory to this costume can be a tuft of grass taped to the face… I strongly suggest doing so. :)Try not to die this Halloween, everyone!22 Adorable Ideas For A DIY Deer Costume This Halloween - Gurl.com)
