Homework Help Volume Of A Oblique Rectangular Prism

How do you find the volume of an oblique rectangular prism?

volume = base area x height that is perpendicular to the base.

For this problem, you have
v = 8*4*5 = 160 cm^3

How do you calculate the volume of a triangular prism?

The Volume of a Triangular Prism is easy to compute. Using Heron’s Law we compute the area of the face of the prism, which is simply the Area of a Triangle. This is a function of the three sides of the prism’s base (a, b and c). Then we multiply that geometric area by the third dimension (height, depth or length) of the prism. This provides the Volume of the Triangular Prism.The formula for the area of a triangle is:[math]A = \sqrt{s \cdot (s-a) \cdot (s-b) \cdot (s-c)}[/math]where [math]s = \frac{a+b+c}{2}[/math]You can do this math by hand or with a calculator, or use the Volume of a Triangular Prism calculator that let’s you enter the dimensions (a, b, c, and h) in any of a large number of units from nanometers to light-years, and automatically handles the unit conversion when executing the equation above. It does the same for the resulting volume with both English (imperial) and metric units. This is part of the Weight and Volume Calculator that computes volume and weight of several different geometric shapes.

Can someone plze help me with this homework...its ma 4th work sheet and im about to die here...HELP :'(?

1) Lateral area = vertical area
2(5x10) + 2(8x10) = 260 cm^2

2) One base = (Total surface area - lateral area) / 2
(88 - 48) / 2 = 20 in^2

3) Lateral area = (Base x Slant height) x sides
(8 x 10) x 4 = 320 in^2

4) Surface area = lateral area + base area
base area = 3
lateral area = 1.5 x 3 = 4.5
surface area = 7.5 in ^ 2

5) Lateral Area of Cylinder = Base circumference x height
Circumference = pi(3.14) x 2r
Circumference = 2(2) x 3.14 = 12.56
Lateral Area = 12.56 x 5 = 62.8 in ^2

6) 36 in^2 (original area ^2)

7) Area = length x width
area = 192 m^2
1/4 = 1/4 (192) = 48 m^2

8) 12

9) 25

10) 56.2 cm

I got lazy at the end, that was a lot more than I expected. But trust me they're right.

Math Help..surface area and volume?

Find the volume and surface area of the
given solids:
1).
Cube -
l = 2 in, w =2 in, and h = 2 in
V = 8 cubic inches
SA = 24 square inches

2).
Cube -
l =1 in, w = 1 in, and h = 1 in
V = 1 cubic inch
SA = 6 square inches

3).
Prism -
l = 7 in, w = 4 in, and h = 11 in
V = 308 in^3
Surface Area of Prism:
[ 2(lw) + (2l + 2w)h ]
= 56 + 22*11
= 298 square inches

4).
Rectangular prism -
l = 5 in, w = 4 in, and h = 3 in
V = 60 in^3
SA (Cuboid):
[ 2(lw) + (2l + 2w)h ]
= 40 + 18*3
= 94 square inches

5).
Pyramid
Volume =1/3 x area of base x height
Surface Area of Any Pyramid
= area of base + area of each of the lateral faces
Regular pyramid = area of base + 1/2 ps
where p = perimeter of the base, s = slant height
Square pyramid = b^2 + 2bs
where b = length of the base, s = slant height
Square pyramid -
l = 8 in, w = 8 in, and h = 10 in
s = sqrt (164)
V = 213 1/3 in^3
SA
= 64 + 16*(164)^(1/2)
= 268.89997559785115 in^2
