Honda Crf 150f Vs. 150r

Honda CRF150R Expert vs. CR-125?

Crf150r Expert is the same size as a big wheel 85. I reccomend you get a 125 because it is a great bike to learn on, it is the same size as a 250 or 450 but just not as fast, You should rather get a yz125 that is no older than 2005 because they are more up to date than two stroke hondas. Honda stopped making two strokes in 07'
But overall you would save money buying a yz125, they are dependable and cheap to fix rather than a four stroke. You would easily grow out of a 150. Plus if you raced in the 85 class all the kids are sandbaggers but the 125 class is fun and easy. I ride a 2010 yz125 and race in the 125 novice class and the schoolboy. Just go on craigslist and look up yz125 but don't get one with a 144 kit, they ruin the bike and 125's are perfect just how they are, maybe just a exhaust system. but anyways..
yz125 all the way!!

CRF150R vs. TTR125? Which one should I get?

Dirt bikes, are high maintenance items. You have to keep the oil changed, the air filters cleaned, etc. You are not going to be able to just put fuel in a dirt bike and go all year long.

Your spark plug changing sounds like a simple fix. You need to check your carburetor, pre-mix mixture and voltage output of the coil/magneto. I have gone entire seasons with my practice bikes with the same spark plug, so there is something not correct in either your fuel mixture or your electrical system.

2-strokes have fewer moving and internal parts, so there is less to break, easier to maintain and cheaper to rebuild. They also produce about 20% more torque and horsepower than a 4-stroke of the same engine size. CC to CC you can't beat a 2-stroke. 4-strokes power bands are much more linear that a 2-strokes though. Where a 2-stroke hits all at once, a 4-stroke delivers its power smoothly.

The CRF 150R or the TTR 125 will not be peppier.

A YZ 85 is putting out over 20 hp. The CRF 150 is putting out around 13 hp. The TTR 125 is putting out around 11.5 hp. You are going to have to go to a 250 4-stroke to get better performance than you YZ 85.

4-strokes are much better as play bikes. Since you will mainly be doing trail riding and farm field riding, the 4-stroke will be better suited for this.

I know it is just my opinion, but Honda builds the best thumpers (single cylinder 4-strokes) around. I have worked on all kinds of makes and models and Honda thumpers are the most reliable. They might not have the most power or be the fastest, but they are built like iron.

I would suggest getting a CRF 250. Since you are an intermediate rider, you will adapt quickly to it. I think that if you get the 125 or 150 you will be wanting more power by the end of the season or possibly even by the end of the first week.

If you are forcing us to choose between the CRF150 or the TTR 125, there is no comparison, you have to choose the CRF150.

Difference between Honda CRF150R, CRF150F, and CRF230F?

CRF150R is set up for racing while the CRF150F,and CRF230F are mainly for trail riding.that's why you will notice that the CRF150R (or any other motocross bike) is a liquid cooled engine, because bikes set up for racing are intended to have more stress put on the engine and will likely get hotter hence it is liquid cooled rather than air cooled.

hope this helps

Difference between the Honda CRF150F and the Honda CRF150R???

The R is a motocross bike, the F is off-road.

I would guess suspension and tires are different off the bat.

Here is what I found different.

Bore and Stroke, Compression, Valve Train, Induction, ignition.

Brakes, tires, front and rear suspension.

Wheelbase, ground clearance, weight. (236lbs vs 183lbs R is lighter)

Fuel capacity.

R is liquid cooled, F is air cooled.

F is MSRP of $3149 vs R MSRP of $4199.

Difference between Honda CRF150F and CRF150R?

In simple terms the R is a much faster, much lighter bike with a high performance liquid-cooled race engine and full race suspension. The F is a mild little trail bike with poor suspension and a heavy steel frame. The F is a good reliable trail/play bike for a beginner. The R is a very capable machine both on the track and on the trail. The only extra maintenance on the R would be having the shop check/adjust your valves about once a year. A very small price to pay for the extra performance you get from the R. The R is a lot more expensive obviously.

What are the pros and cons of Honda CBR 150R?

The CBR and R15 are the best in the segment. Comparing bothProsEngine and RefinementMore Power at least on paperSuspension is not hard.Much higher clip ons provide a more upright riding positionConsSwitch gear lacks quality and missing switches like engine kill switch and pass lightLesser TorquePower comes higher up at 10500 rpmBrakes are not upto parI ride an R15 and found the feedback and the brakes are the best in the class. The new R15 has a lambda sensor and provides around 46+ kmpl in city riding( I get 42 on an average ).Hope this helps

Crf150f vs. crf150r expert?

The 150R is a killer bike in the woods. It is the bike of choice for young woods racers these days, rarely ever see an 85 racing hare scrambles anymore. First off, understand that the expert is no faster than the regular 150R, same bike, different size wheels...that's all. Both 150R models are way faster than a 150F.....waaaay faster. Any high performance engine will have more long term maintenance than a low performance bike. It is simple physics. More RPM's means more friction which means more wear. At your height you will definitely want the expert model if you get the 150R. I moved my nephew to a 250F at 13 and 5'4" and he is way happier than he was on his 85. You might want to consider a 250F at 5'6". You will outgrow the 150 in a year or two.

What is the top speed of a Honda CBR 150R?

Depends on the rider's experience. I've had a 150R keep up with me at 150 kph. It was a little downhill but still, else he can easily do 140 without breaking much of a sweat. After 140 kph, it's next to impossible to push it further on a flat stretch unless he slipstreams. We ride together quite often and can verify this physically if required.
