PS: Her pair of boobs are amazing that's why I wonder.

How and why did katy perry change her style of music so drastically?

I'm not a fan but I was pretty shocked that someone with a squeaky clean image sang songs like hot n cold and I kissed a girl, to songs like teenage dream and other song for little kids. How did people accept this so well like it never happened and why?

Does music change/affect your mood/character? How do you explain that change/effect?

Yes music impacts one mood. The below research shows that music makes a significant impact on people based on the type of music they listen to. How Music Affects Our MoodsScientists at the University of Missouri have found that people can boost their mood simply by listening to upbeat music.“Our work provides support for what many people already do—listen to music to improve their moods,” said lead author Yuna Ferguson in a press release. “Although pursuing personal happiness may be thought of as a self-centered venture, research suggests that happiness relates to a higher probability of socially beneficial behavior, better physical health, higher income, and greater relationship satisfaction.”People can successfully improve their moods and boost their overall happiness in just two weeks, according to Ferguson's research, published in The Journal of Positive Psychology. In the study, participants improved their mood after being told to try to do so, but they only succeeded when they listened to the upbeat music of Copland, as opposed to the sadder tunes of Stravinsky. Other participants, who simply listened to the music without attempting to change their mood, didn't report an increase in happiness. For people to put the research into practice, however, they should be wary of too much introspection into their mood or constantly asking, “Am I happy yet?” Ferguson added."People could focus more on enjoying their experience of the journey towards happiness and not get hung up on the destination," Ferguson said.

What decade of music do you think is most easily identifiable just from listening to it?

If we’re going up far enough, I’d say the 2000s and 2010s. I grew up (and still am growing up) in these times, so they are the music I am most familiar with, for one. Additionally, I feel the popular genres of music have changed so much from earlier to now.The 80s and 90s are so distinctly different from the pop I heard in the 2000s. If you threw me a Justin Bieber song and a Madonna song, anyone could tell the difference. For me, though, the 80s and nineties aren’t very distinct from each other. The same is said for music earlier than that. It may just be because I am more familiar with 2000s music, but I am still convinced there is a drastic difference between it and its predecessors. The 2010s gave birth to the popularity of trap and practically the only music most young people listen to these days is either R&B hip hop, trap or pop influenced by the former. For me, even the two decades sound different. The 2000s and early 2010s was dominated by more girly pop (for lack of a better word) and pop/soft rock. That time period consisted of a lot of Katy Perry and Coldplay. Then, in comes 2013 or 14 and I’ve been thrown into the world of trap and hip hop. What my friends talk about now is Drake and Kanye. The 2000s are very distinct to me, but I’m sure it depends on the person.

What does Katty Perry mean by saying: falling from cloud 9, from one of her songs?

"Cloud 9" is a expression way of basically saying your in such a wonderful position and almost nothing can top it. falling from it means everything and anything is suddenly going wrong. your suddenly not in that dream land anymore. your suddenly "Wide Awake" =]

What of today's music will survive the test of time?

I'm going to answer this question first with a question.  I know it's a Quora no-no.  What music today is redefining a genre?  Queen was unique and redefined a genre.Led Zeppelin was unique and redefined a genre. The Sex Pistols were unique and redefined a genre. The Ramones were unique and redefined a genre.Elvis Presley was unique and redefined a genre. The Beatles were unique and redefined a genre. The Cure, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Rush, Yes, Genesis, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, AC/DC and so many more.  What music today is redefining a genre and not just rehashing something that's already been done? The last genre redefining movement was the grunge movement of the early 90's.  (In my opinion of course).  Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Tool.  Alice and Chains and Nine Inch Nails are two others but they technically got their first hits in the 80's.  The most requested song at gigs I DJ at right now is Uptown Funk.  This is actually a really good song.  However, it's just a rehash of 70's style funk/Motown.  Walk the Moon and "Shut Up and Dance" is another highly requested song.  I hear that song and I hear every 80's Rick Springfield type genre song.  It's not a bad song, it's just nothing new.  It'll be a distant memory in a few months. There's some really good music out there right now.  It's not being played on the radio.  I like Twenty One Pilots.  I like Mumford and Sons.  Out of popular music today, I'd give a nod to those two.  They offer a little bit of uniqueness.  Not much, but some.  I like Bruno Mars.  He's talented.  He's been done before though.  There's also something missing that was very evident in the 70's and that's artistry with an instrument.  Who are the Randy Rhodes, John Bonham, and Geddy Lee's of modern music?  I remember Avenged Sevenfold being slated as the next great guitar band.  Every time I heard that guitar player play I thought immediately of Yngwie Malmsteen.  The guitar licks were nearly identical as well as the sound effects.  So, the answer to the question is, find the genre redefining band that gets popular and you'll have your answer.  Good luck.
