How Are Microphones Set Up For Videos

How do I connect a microphone to the camera to make videos for YouTube?

Oo, toughie. If your microphone has a quarter inch jack output, and your mic has an opening for a 3.5mm (headphone) jack, just plug it in and you're good to go!If your camera has a mic port, but the mic uses something different like XLR or 1/4 inch jack, see if you can find an adapter for the mic jack (XLR or 1/4 inch to 3.5mm.)If the mic uses XLR, check to see if it requires phantom power to run. If not, just by an XLR to 3.5mm inch adapter and plug it in!If your mic needs phantom power, then unfortunately you'll have more trouble hooking it up to the camera. You'll need to buy an audio interface, then run the output feed into the camera via 3.5mm inch connection (or whatever connection your camera uses)If your camera does NOT have a mic input, then it's impossible to hook up the mic to the camera. However, don't fret! There are solutions! The best thing to do at this point is to hook the mic up to your laptop or another recording device (either through an audio interface or just the mic port on your computer... I recommend the interface.) Record both the video and the audio, using a clap to sync them up in post editing after you've finished recording. Once the files are loaded into your Video Editor of Choice (EVERY video editor, even Movie Maker, is capable of doing this), simply sync up the camera audio with the recorded audio, then either mute the camera audio or delete that audio file entirely! If you need more guidance, please me know! I hope I helped. :)

How do I use a Blue Yeti Microphone with a camera?

I just recently purchased a Blue Yeti Microphone so that I could record music, and I would like to also video my piano as I play. I can't figure out how to put the audio and video together. Blue Yeti is a USB microphone, and my camera is a Nikon. I really need help with this so any information would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Which is the best microphone to record my audio (vocals) for YouTube videos (budget around $100)?

I'd like more info on what you're recording and why, but I'll just go with it.  Get a USB condenser mic.  You can get a used on on eBay for a song (ha! see what I did there?) like this:Blue Spark Digital Condenser Cardioid Microphone MC-1051 The Blue Spark retails for $200, and this one is $100.  Audio-Technica AT2020 USB Condenser Plug-in Professional Microphone The AT2020 USB is a workhorse and usually sells for over $150.  This one is again $100.Other options would be the CAD U37 USB, Blue Yeti, Rode NT-USB...  The list goes on.  Here, look at this page:USB Microphones | B&H Photo Video Do some research.  Anything with 4.5+ stars should be OK, and B&H has a good return policy.  Or go with Amazon, I don't care.  But I'm telling you, used mics on eBay are a great deal.

Looking for a good camera/microphone to record youtube videos?

I would use them to start making asmr videos (you can look the term up if you're not familiar), and was wondering, to those of you who are knowledgeable about cameras/microphones, which one(s) would be best/clearest? thanks in advance!

*one concern of mine:

Why does my expensive microphone fuzz and have annoying Background noise?

okay, let's have a look at the situation.problem #1:you experience background noise.are you using your video capture device to record the game audio and using a SEPARATE program for recording commentary and whatnot from your microphone?if not,i reccomend audacity.i don't know if it works on mac(i am a dedicated windows user)but try it.i assume you are using iMovie,or some similar video creation program.once you stop recording from the video capture device i assume you are using to record the let's play(or walkthrough, whatever you are calling it)and stop your separate audio recording program, you can save the files and import the audio file, but i'm not sure how,to iMovie or whatever program you have chosen.then, just sync the audio and video files together.this should also take care of any fuzzy or staticy noises or whatever issues you are having otherwise.if you are already using a separate auduio recording prgram then i unfortunately cannot help you.the only thing i can think of is make sure you aren't recording everything through the microphone.set up your video recording program to ONLY record audio through the audio input in your video capture device.if you are using a webcam, make sure that it's microphone is muted if it has one(i know that sounds stupid but i know some people that buy separate microphones)and try that.i hope i helped and good luck!
SonyVegas is a very good program.and windows offers MANY more good programs.good luck!
