How Are Racing Tracks Lineups Fair

Why do the racers in car racing start from different positions but have the same finishing line?

Ishan has perfectly explained the entire procedure of qualifying round for F1 cars, so I will not repeat it here. I would like to add just one more point. The qualifying tend to segregate the slower or less competent cars from faster cars, so the front pack consist of faster cars, while slower cars are positioned behind the faster cars. This ensures overall safety of the cars and drivers. Just before the lights go out the cars are positioned very close to each therefore it has to be ensured that slower cars do not obstruct the faster incoming cars. The finish line tends to be same because this situation fades as the race progresses and cars are automatically placed at safe distance form each other based on their overall competency level.

How do they decide the starting position of cars in F1 racing and does that offer an advantage to the ones at front?

The positions of the starting grid are decided on Qualifying day . Qualifying consists of 3 sessions:Q1 - For a grid of 22 drivers, all drivers set their fastest possible lap time.Only the top 16 from Q1 move on to the next session.Q2 - The top 16 drivers again set their fastest possible lap times and the top 10 drivers move on to the final session.Q3 - Often known as the shootout for pole position (the first spot of the grid) , 10 drivers battle out for the final top 10 positions. The first two grid slots are called the front row(1st and 2nd), then the second row and so on. As you mentioned, the driver who is higher up the grid has a better chance to win the race. Hence a good Quali lap is very essential.

Who else believes the NASCAR fan vote for the All Star Race will be fixed for Danica Patrick?

hummm, let's see. Who receives the votes ? Who counts the votes ? Who may profit from the outcome ? Who takes the money from her sponsor to provide such biased promotion of a side show ? And who's TV show is it anyhow ?

Do I really need to go back and point out how low nascar has been to grab cash and make you fans hysterical ? Let's see phoney cautions, Fining those drivers who point out a short coming on nascar's part, pure lies from the talkers, to name just a few. I COULD go on for pages, but Y'all already know of them for yourself. No there is never a conspiracy, just nascar's phoney TV show. Not a sport, but, more of a " reality show " the put on type. nascar is a parody of real racing.

R.I.P. Dick Trickle, sir, A real deal race car driver. He ACTUALLY ran nascar when the racing was real. A real shame to lose Mr. Trickle, we will miss him and always remember his great driving, and sportsmanship.

May You Go Fast Forever, Mr. Trickle.

We're talking about setting up a NASCAR pool at work, how do you do it and how much do you put in each?

I used to run a nascar pool at a bar i worked at...and would just put all the drivers names in a hat...let anyone who wanted to pick from the hat...pay 5 dollars and the winner after the race would get the pot..and if noone won...the pot would carry over to the next week..with people drawing new drivers names

A wealthy benefactor has offered to hire Van Halen to play a concert for your birthday party?

Michael Anthony has to be there. He's one of the best rock band back up vocalists ever.

I guess you're making us choose between lead singers (Gary Cherone doesn't really count in my books). I'll go with Roth.
