How Are They Going To Be Able To Protect Peyton Manning Now The Person Whose Job Was To Protect

Should i get rid of peyton manning as my fantasy QB?

If that trade would work, i would do it. But you don't know how long Peyton will be out. I would keep him. DO Not drop him. even if he is out for wk 1, he will still be dominant the rest of the season.

Does Peyton Manning play sissy football?

I agree that he's not as tough as Favre, That being said, he is probaby the greatest thinking quarterback I've ever seen as far as reading defenses. Smart quarterbacks also try to avoid contact if they want to have a longer career. Dan Marino did and he played about as long as Favre. Favre is an old school exception when it comes to toughness and is having a great season throwing few interceptions and leading the Vikings to a great season. Could it be that they will meet in the Super Bowl?

Why isn't old age affecting Tom Brady like it's affecting Peyton Manning?

Peyton Manning was beaten up from a single disastrous hitFor years Peyton played behind a sub par offensive line and with a terrible defense.  He didn't really hit his own stride until his second or third year. He didn't really form into the offensive coach we knew on the field until he played for a decade.  He was regularly getting sacked hit and rushed. It was his talents mixed with having a wide out like Marvin Harrison that allowed the team as much success as it did. Even then, he was very durable, until the brutal take down above. The neck injury ruined Peyton. I wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't had the injury if he could have been at his peak for another few years. The season before his injury he threw for 4700 yards, the season after he threw slightly less, but you could tell the injury was really taking a toll. Every season since then he lost velocity and control over the ball. It was entirely his gamesmanship, preparation, and awareness that carried the Broncos through the last few seasons.Tom BradyBrady wasn't drafted until 2000, while Peyton was first overall in 1998. Brady didn't start until 2001.  He's played 3 seasons fewer than Peyton.Brady has actually been sacked about 100 times more than Peyton has and from stats that I can find, it appears he's been hit at least twice as often as Peyton.Brady's only major injury came during week 1 of the 2008 NFL season after a hit by Bernard PollardIt was a helmet hit on the knee, tearing Brady's ACL knocking him out for the season. While a brutal play, for a pocket passer like Brady, he was able to come right back in, after a year's recovery, without too much trouble. It's all luckIn the end, both players have been exceptionally lucky.  Most players get injured, they've both managed to only have 2 serious injuries between them. They both work their asses off. Brady's a bit of an orthorexic but it seems to work for him. Manning went to extraordinary lengths to recover from his neck injury -- stem cells and probably HGH treatments, but that injury was a completely unlucky play that pretty much cut his career short. It was an incredibly dangerous injury. The play itself wasn't bad, but it's effects were. The NFL seems hell bent on keeping Brady healthy, as evidenced by the rules immediately instated after his injuries and...confusing plays. So long as he stays healthy he probably has at least 5 more years of effective play, meaning he'll have played for only a couple years more than Manning.

Is Jamarcus Russell the 2nd coming of Daunte Culpepper?

It's easy to say he's going to be better now. Ryan Leaf is supposed to be competing with Peyton Manning for Super Bowl rings right now, that didn't happen did it?

When you get down to the nitty gritty, I'm talking physical traits, similar abilities, a tendency to scramble, the big frame, the strong arm. They both have these.

Can we agree that the NFL rule changes to protect the QB is a failure with one Team having two QBs with broken legs?

No. While I agree the new NFL rules suck. The “Quarterback in a dress rules” have allowed numerous QBs to play into their 40’s.When Dan Marino played, after he had released the ball, a 300 pound defensive lineman could take two full steps at top speed, tackle him and drive him into the ground with all his might.A weak player like Tom Brady couldn’t have played thru a season without being hospitalized numerous times under those rules. His career would have ended within five years.1 DREW BREES current age 392 Peyton Manning last year played age 393 Brett Favre last year played age 414 TOM BRADY current age 415 Dan Marino last year played age 386 BEN ROETHLISBERGER current age 367 ELI MANNING current age 378 PHILIP RIVERS current age 37The fact that 5 of the top 8 QB’s in passing yards are still playing TODAY, says the rules that protect QBs are working. In fact, Peyton and Farve could probably still play if they had to, they haven’t been retired that long. There was a time when the NFL was a man’s game, that time is gone. And so is the NFL, they just don’t know it yet.The next generation of kids could care less about American Football. There are too many other distractions. Sports are played almost year round now. The NBA, College Football, College Basketball, worldwide Soccer and the NFL all played games this week. All sports are televised or streamed live on the internet. The days of “3 Channel America”, where the NFL was the only televised sport, are gone. The NFL is just another sport in a sea of sports to today’s kids.It costs far too much to take your family to a game. I’ve seen different reports that it costs between $500-$1000 dollars to take a family of four to a NFL game. That’s insane. How is some poor kid supposed to care about that?Consequently, we’ve seen a real degradation in the caliber of athlete that plays in the NFL.This, in turn has led many NFL team to adopt “Spread Offense” Quaterbacks. Run/Pass option plays are now common place. Baltimore, is basically playing a Running Back at the QB position.Having the QB constantly run the football leads to injury. Tim Tebow led the Broncos to the playoffs, but finished the season with a broken rib and a collapsed lung. The pocket passers play into their 40’s while the spread offense guys end up hurt.Spread Offense QB - Alex Smith,Robert Griffin III, Jameis Winston, Deshaun Watson, Tim Tebow, etc. always hurt.
