How Big Is Fat In A Person

How big of a person can fit into an old vw beetle?

you know, you are going to be surprised but yes, those beetles the way they are shaped accomodate big guys fine. Im 6 2 and have a longer torso than most, and fit no problem both the door way, and comfort as far as seating goes.those were pretty good cars for what they were (cheap) but the key to keeping that motor running is to have the valves adjusted with every tune up. this helps a lot.

How big is fat? Like.. As in a person?

wow, this is really easy, if ur under 6 feet and u weigh more than 200 lbs, ur fat. If ur under 7 feet and u weigh more than 300 lbs, again ur fat. I'm pretty liberal when it comes to calling someone on being overweight, I've fought the battle of the bulge since my teen years, I look at food and gain weight, but it's pretty clear if ur size is in the upper teens, u need to do something.

Is it harder to fight a fat person? If so, why?

There are so many variables when fighting someone that the idea of whether someone is "fat" or not is only 1 thing out of 100 to consider.  If you had two people that knew the same style of fighting, both were in training shape, and one weighed 100 pounds more, then it is likely that heavier person would win.  But people aren't equal like that.  And most likely if you are fighting someone, unless it's a match, this is a street fight, and then you have no clue what the other person knows.  If they know self defense, or martial arts, you're screwed unless you know more than them, I do not care how good of a street fighter you are.  If I was walking home holding a hard covered book and you started a fight with me, I could break your nose in seconds and the pain would be so blinding I could probably just walk away.  People who learn self defense learn ways of disabling people in seconds.  Your windpipe is a vulnerable spot, as is your nose.  I almost broke someone's back in a fight once, and they were thin, and in good shape, and started it.  I'm pretty sure they thought they had a better chance against me, since I was not in great shape, and heavier than they were, but I am quicker than I look, and I know a trick or two, which was all I needed.  In my eyes, I am not looking to fight, I am looking to end it as quick as possible before I get hurt.  Which means I want you unconscious or disabled as quick as possible.  Anyone who wants to fight with me is threatening my life, I do not see this as a game or a fun thing to do with my time.  The big problem I have with the question and fighting in general is the fact that you never know.  A small guy could be super quick and dangerous, the big guy could be slow or maybe never has to fight because he's big.  You don't know.  It is why I don't pick fights, but if I end up in one I do try to end it as quick as possible.

Can you be a fat bartender?????????

I really want to go to bar tending school. I'm not hideous but I AM fat. What would go through your mind if you saw an overweight bartender at a club/bar? Thanks!

Why don’t hockey teams use sumo wrestlers or big, fat guys as goalies?

I read an article about five years ago that put the age old question, "Why don't you just put a really fat guy in goal?" to the test. I couldn't dig up the article, but I can paraphrase it pretty well. There were a couple reasons why this wouldn't work.(1) A goal is bigger than you think (6 ft. by 4 ft.). Even a man weighing 900 lbs.  wouldn't block the whole goal. So, although a sumo wrestler weighing, say, 500 lbs. would block more of the goal than a regular-sized NHL goalie, he'd still have a ton of extra space to defend. (2) Although there is no restriction on how big a goalie can be, there are limits on the size of his pads. Even if you wanted an obese guy to sit in front of the goal, he'd have to be wiling to take slap shots straight off the gut.Nevertheless, the writer of the article got a guy to throw on a fat suit and try and play goalie. It was pathetic. First, they had to tie him to the goal just so he could stay upright while on skates. And although he was actually really effective at blocking shots from straight on, when the shooting angle was bad, he had no ability to adjust himself and defend a shot from the side. The players quickly figured out that they could just pass the puck to a guy on the side of the goal and he could dump it in past the goalie's blubbering body.

What is the difference between being fat and big-boned?

bigboned is having wide hips and shoulders, and thicker bones in general. you can see that a person is big boned if you look at their wrists - big boned people have much thicker wrists, and it's all bone, since wrists usually don't have fat over them.
a girl can be size 10-12 and have flat tummy and toned body - she would be healthy and big boned, also what you could call thick, but she wouldn't be fat or obese.
obese people are obese, regardless of the size of their bones. a big-boned person can be wider/thicker, but he or she wouldn't have lots of loose flesh like an obese person would.
If anything, big-boned people can look much slimmer at a much higher weight and with much more fat.

Do fat people have bigger stomachs?

As I wrote in  Shefaly Yogendra's answer to How big is the human stomach? a normal unexpanded adult stomach has a capacity of 45-75ml and can distend to 1L. It was widely believed that fat people have larger stomachs, since they appear to be able to eat so much. But the ability to eat certain quantities is not a reliable indicator of stomach capacity. Further research found that normal weight bulimic persons may also show larger stomach capacity than some obese persons. So the current thinking is that binge-eating overweight or obese or morbidly persons may have larger capacity stomachs than non binge eaters. Why is this so? It isn't fully understood. Quoting from [1] below: "As the degree of obesity increases, the likelihood of binge eating also increases and may help explain why the gastric capacity in morbidly obese individuals is so large. Of course, gastric restriction operations for the severely obese drastically reduce capacity and lead to substantial weight loss. Dieting also leads to reduced gastric capacity, but this has not been as effective in the long-term as surgery. Even after surgery, the pouch can enlarge over time and may be related to some weight regain." [1] http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1038/oby.2001.98/full

Is there a difference between calling someone big and calling them fat?

Absolutely.tl:dr Fat implies unhealthy, big simply takes up a lot of space. Calling someone fat is offensive, big should not be (but still can be)There is a world of difference between Fat and BigCalling someone fat is a social no-no and big tends to fall under that umbrella too often. Big can mean that they just take up a lot of space with their body.I am a big guy. 6,1 (186 cm) and 200 pounds (91 Kg) but I am not fat. I simply take up more room then most people around me. I have broad shoulders that I simply cannot make smaller. This is not unhealthy or unseemly. I do not have a 6 pack but I if I work out every day for a week I already begin to see definition. I most certainly am not fat. Just big. I make this comment a lot. Mainly when I am in a crowded place and taking up a lot of room.Fat people are more often then not also big. But in a way that can be helped. They can begin a diet and start working out. They also take up a lot of room but it is unseemly and unattractive. There is nothing good about being fat. Calling someone fat is an insult; it is calling them unattractive, unhealthy and lacking discipline or motivation. Big is not a bad thing. Fat is.Note: I am not fat shaming. I just think that being fat is unhealthy and that body positive means taking care of your body. You don't need a 6 pack or be super fit. Just healthy.
