How Can I Better Myself

How can I feel better about myself?

Stop thinking about your weight. Start thinking about your health. Focus on taking the best care of you that you can. You need to feed your body what it needs. Give it the best fuel. Give it plenty of exercise so it will last you a long time. Doing that will probably result in your losing a little weight, but that's not what's important. Being healthy is what's important.

Remember....no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. Eleanor Roosevelt.

Oh, and I always read a Sophie Kinsella or Janet Evanovich novel to get myself out of a funk like that.

What can I do to better myself in one month?

I do the following. Hence, it is tried and tested.Wake up at 5 am in the morning.Go for a jog or for a workout without any breakfast. This will help you be fresh and active throughout the day. And surprisingly, we stay calm and composed if we follow this.Make a schedule of all the things you have to do. Create a time table and follow it.Whenever you are driving or travelling, listen to informative podcasts by NASA or How things get made or anyone else you like to listen to on SoundCloud. This helps you in gaining knowledge and information outside of what you do at work or school. Some of the stuff I listen to.If you have free time from 5–7 in the evening, join a book club or a space club or learn a new language. It's always good to have hobbies. If you have free time between 8–10 at night, join your local astronomy club, buy a telescope and learn astronomy. It gives you peace of mind and helps us remind where we stand in the universe. If you are attending a lecture, use the voice recorder in your phone to record it. Then play it on your phone while travelling or while studying. It helps us create a mental picture. This really helps me, especially during exams.Sleep before 12. Maintaining a healthy sleep cycle is really important. No laptop or smartphones while on bed. I regret not following this one (I know am being a hypocrite). As I have become so addicted to it that, I can't fall asleep until I play a TV epsiode or a movie in my bed.Our body is capable of adjusting to a schedule if we are able to follow it for a few weeks. You might need 1–2 alarms to wake up in the morning, it was 6–7 alarms in my case. But once we get habituated, it's a piece of cake.Old habits die hard. But it's still possible.Edit- added some screenshots. Source— My gallery.

How do I better myself at driving?

Be (more) aware of your surroundings. You won’t be taken by surprise by actions of others, insteady you’ll be taking action in time. You’ll drive more relaxed also.Keep a good distance to those in front of you, not too much, not too little.Brake less. Drive so that you make little use of the brakes. Reduces fuel consumption and congestion.Drive defensively, absorbing the mistakes, ignorance, or incautiousness of others. You’ll be safer, and others as well.Keep the accelerator steady. Don’t push it back and forth like many people do, you use much more fuel that way. Use cruise control more.Drive quickly to the speed limit and keep it there. Reduces congestion, it doesn’t use more fuel.

Why do I find it hard to better myself?

I know how you feel.  It's so easy to just relax.  To take our time, to procrastinate. For some reason, humans like to engage in leisure.  But it's certainly a less than desirable activity to participate in, I can promise you that. The problem with most of humanity, and myself a good deal of the time, is that we justify to ourselves that we are doing "fine".We tell ourselves "I have time" and "Everyone else is doing this". But the problem lies therein.Everyone, as in the normal humans, are generally lazy.  Although we aspire to be the next hotshot entrepreneur, politician, or celebrity, it's crazy that we do little to nothing about it.Each day comes and then leaves just as it began.  Our betterment is faulty and weak, if not nonexistent.Do your best to think in terms of the future.  Establish a system, a schedule.  Prepare a series of goals that must be accomplished in order to reach the end goal.  And feel bad about yourself when you aren't proactive.Be upset with yourself when you fail to achieve these small goals that must be completed along the way.  This is truly what separates the normal from the upper echelon of human beings. We tend to wait and wish and hope and pray.  That's all fine and good, but it won't bring you anywhere.  The overused verb "Do" is the only action that can solve your problems.  I realize how cliche it is.  And the reason it's cliche is because we like to undervalue it.  We talk about it but don't do anything.  It's like saying that a $1 bill is worth $1 but not actually believing that a piece of paper has value.  It exists, but is faceless. We don't want to work hard to get what we want.  It's easier to undervalue hard work, productivity, efficiency, etc.  It's easy to make fun of work ethic than actually engage in it yourself.Figure out what you want.  If you want it, and the desire for it is intrinsic, I bid you good luck, and if not, all I can say is have fun living a poorly fulfilled life.

There are after school programs that provide tutoring and quiet places to work. Most of them are run out of schools, libraries, and sometimes Big Brother/Big Sister locations. Also, YMCA/YWCA's frequently have these types of facilities, as do many churches.

Good Luck
