How Can I Get Information On Locating An Illinois Child In Need Of A Wig Donation From Locks Of

What goes through your mind when you see someone begging? Your first impulse may be to give, but how then is that influenced by the look of the person, the setting, who you are with, you've given elsewhere etc.?

I don't know how things are in NYC, but in India, begging is a well represented profession. Before you look at me with disdain for apparently making fun of beggars, please note that begging is actually a profession in India, albeit illegal, and a very well represented one at that. However, even corruption is illegal, and that has never stopped it from being all around us, so why should we make an exception for begging? We don't, and beggars, consequently, are all around us in India. Some operate in an organized manner, with demarcated areas and managers and what not. Others are independent. How do I feel when I see them? Terrible. When I sit in my car and a beggar approaches me for money, knocking on my window, I feel as if the window that separates us is "circumstance". It serves as a massive reality check - not because I feel that I could end up that way if I were to stop working hard, but because we spend so much time bothering over trifles that we fail to appreciate what we have. What do I do? Well, if I don't have spare change and am in a hurry, I feel sorry and drive off. If I have spare change, I ask myself whether I need it more or the other guy? If I need it more, I keep it. It's my money. But usually, one has little use for spare change, so in most cases, I give a couple of coins. However, I am always apprehensive giving away money, since it can be put to all sorts of use.One thing that I've started doing recently is seeing if there's some cheap food outlet nearby and buying some food for these people. There's no better gift than food for someone who's forced to starve. You also can't buy stuff using food, thus putting my apprehensions to rest. I was recently being pestered by a kid for some money, and I bought him a basic sandwich or puff from a nearby stall. It cost me a pittance, yet it was plain how much it meant to the kid. I don't mind being cheated of a few bucks everyday if it prevents a kid from going hungry.

Legally speaking, can my boss make me cut my hair?

First thing to look at, are women at your workplace allowed long hair? If so, you have the basis for a gender discrimination suit. Just as a woman being forced to wear a bra could sue for such, since it's very unlikely that men are required to wear one. I had an ex that threatened suit over that after they wrote her up for not wearing one.The problem is the right to work, and that people just aren't nice. Any threat to their authority, even if entirely legal, won't stop them from finding or manufacturing something to fire you for that can't be challenged. They can even do their best to try to make things so difficult for you that you quit. The world isn't fair, life isn't fair. I've been told to cut my hair when it's long, by bosses, mom, and even my girlfriend at the moment. I usually did it, though sometimes I refused all 3. Once when I had been hired with long hair, had it cut a few months after hire and let it grow out again, I refused when the store manager told me to get it cut. He did his best to write me up for everything he could after that, including for driving a forklift when no one else could and saving the store several hundred dollars putting away paper products that wouldn't fit in the store aisles into an attached warehouse that couldn't be put there without using the forklift. No incidents, no accidents, no damages. He claimed I had been told to never drive the forklift unless he or my direct manager was there- a deliberate lie on his part. I refused to sign and threatened to take it to the district manager, which saved my job, because I found out from my direct manager that he'd already had the paperwork filled out to fire me and he'd pressured my direct manager to sign off on the write-up, but he'd refused because I'd never been told.
