How Can I Get Rid Of These Little Hair Threads On My School Trousers

Why do military personnel tuck their trousers into their boots?

There are a number of reasons, and this forum thread covers most of the ones I know about and a few others. It keeps your trousers out of the mud and keeps them from swishing against each other (as much) when you're on the march. It's partly tradition, honoring the Airborne Infantry of the second World War, and back then it was important for keeping your trousers from flapping around or snagging on things in the airplane and on the way down. It also makes it easier to issue uniforms in a few standard sizes, since they don't have to be hemmed to fit the individual soldier. It should be noted that the term for this practice is "blousing" the boots, and that tucking in is not the only way it's accomplished. There are various devices available to produce the desired effect without tucking in, and the uniform trousers come with a drawstring in the cuff which does the same thing, sort of. In the US Army, different specialties or areas within the service have different ways they generally prefer to blouse their trousers (similar to the way US Navy Sailors have different ways of styling and blocking their dixie cup hats). Some people like to "peg" their pants by folding them over before tucking them in. Some people put devices, like tin cans with both ends cut out, inside the bloused portion to weigh them down and keep a perfectly round and symmetrical appearance (I've seen some Air Force personnel do this, too). I used the included drawstring, tied loosely enough so that my cuffs hung as low as possible and covered most of my boot, because it was more comfortable that way and that's how the other guys in my unit did it. For the most part everybody thinks everyone else's way of doing it is silly. All of the above only applies to the fatigue/combat uniform. If trousers are worn this way in a service dress uniform, it signifies that the wearer is a member of an Airborne unit.

What do students today typically wear to high school?

I’m a high school teacher, I’m in San Diego, California. My school technically has a dress code but it is very very casual. In a nut shell: don’t show your private parts, no drug or alcohol references, no gang references. Kids wear pretty much whatever.I have had to issue a uniform violation a handful of times the last few years. Usually boys with the drug and alcohol references on their shirts, hats, or socks. I have talked to girls about their clothes maybe three times: one girl only wore a hoody as a shirt and was unzipping it and flashing boys in class and the second time was a girl who had taken her shirt off and had a bathing-suit on and was laid out and tanning in a grassy area and the third time the girls skirt was too small and she couldn’t bend down and pick things up and she couldn’t sit in her desk because you could see her privates. That’s it though. Most of the time kids are good, there style is definitely different than mine but that doesn’t mean they are inappropriate. Some kids were wearing suits and fancy dresses last year for what they called “Fancy Friday”, some wear pajamas, some wear just jeans/shorts and t-shirts, some kids will where the shirts that look like doilies with a boob tube on but they look nice and it’s not really a big deal. I am also not in the business of telling a girl to put on clothes because a boy can’t concentrate on his schooling. Her education is just as important as his and I’m not going to disrupt her education because a boy can’t concentrate, I’m gonna tell the boy hey “Eyes up here stop being rude”. His education is not her responsibility. He is responsible for himself. And the argument of hormones and boys have to look is a BS argument. It’s cultural. Skirts that showed a girls knees used to be considered inappropriate, now boys can concentrate just fine with skirts that are above the knee.Part of the culture here is a beach culture where kids are regularly in their bathing suits a good amount of the time over the summer and outside of school so a lack of clothes and showing skin is kind of normal here. I grew up here and it was pretty typical to just see people wearing their bathing suit and some jean shorts as bottoms so anything that covers more than a two piece bathing suit is pretty covered up here.

Women's Interview attire: pick which suit.?

I have an interview for CRNA school in a month. Are slender legged suits appropriate? Everyone will be in a suit. My goal is to stand out a bit; to look professional, but trendy. I plan to wear my chin length hair down with a slight wave. My shoes are low heel with closed toe.

How do u translate these??

Yeah... me too... Since English is one of the official languages of the Philippines, hence, we use English in our daily life. Sometimes, we mix both English and Tagalog for convenient use, becoming a 'con' language, "Taglish". Like long time ago, we use "ipaliwanag" for "explain" like "Ipaliwanag mo sa akin" to "Explain to me"... But nowadays, we use "explain" for "explain" too, like "I-explain mo sa akin" to "Explain to me"... So you see, Taglish is a language we use, even in the media.

But I do think there's a Tagalog version of Congratulations or Good job!

"Congratulations" = "Binabati kita" (It's the same for "I salute you")
"Good job" = "Magaling" or "Galing"

But, as I mentioned earlier, "Congratulations" and "Good job" are now applicable in most Filipinos..

Good luck!

I want to stop wearing hijab, but I'm too scared of my parents?!?

Watch what Tony posted ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOczHe2Hx... )

I swear you'll have a better idea of what the hijab is all about after you watch it. Wallahi it gave me the little "push" to "upgrade" my hijab. It's not a bunch of sheikhs bashing on non hijabi women or anything... it's about the hijab and what it does for a woman. You MUST watch it, sis. I'm sure you'll reconsider what you've said.

Anyway, don't you ever think that the hijab is only a barrier to the things you want to do. The reason why you didn't get a job wasn't because of your hijab. No. It was because someone else had a better resume and interviewed better than you did. Even if it was discrimination, remember, it was Allah's will. Allah might have something better for you! He SWT is the best of planners, sis.

Wearing these Western clothes is only going to make you a slave to a man-dominated fashion industry. It's going to make you a slave to men, and not the CREATOR of men. Do you understand how this satanic system works? This industry THRIVES on women's insecurities. It's obvious. Look at the billboards... the commercials... everything! It feeds men's perverted desires. It will NEVER ever protect you. Wearing tight pants may get you the best of jobs in this economy, but it will never get you respect and honor. If you truly love the way your hair or body looks, you should never feel the need to expose it to strange men, sis. Because you're better than that. You're not a worthless piece of trash. You know what I'm saying?

The choice is yours, sis. We're not going to stand in front of Allah for the choice that you're making right now. You are. You have free will. Use it wisely. I hope you make the right decision.

<3 Hope that helped, and remember:

"Freedom isn’t being able to undress in the streets,
And be paraded around and stared at like an animal.
Freedom is modesty, where you have control,
Of who gets to see you and what they’re able to do."
