How Can I Get Wavy Hair Without Heat

How to make your hair wavy without heat?

Before everyone is saying to just braid it and leave it overnight, I've tried that. I have very thick, naturally straight, long black hair and its not exactly the easiest thing to make curly. Even if I use a curling iron, it takes forever!
My hair is at the bottom of my back/to the top of my butt.

So is there like a special type of mousse that you use, or something? Thanks!

Best way to curl your hair without heat?

I'm thinking of curling my hair a bit for tomorrow, as a change.
I've tried letting my hair dry naturally but that only makes my hair a bit wavy. Any ideas?

How can i curl my short hair without heat?

If you want curly hair, (or straight hair to tame your curly hair) look @ videos or hairstyles of women in the late 40's or 50's, and see how healthy & silky their curly hair was. Have you seen Miracle on 34th Street or Downton Abbey? Their hair wasn't styled by professional hairstylists. They were styled by maids. No hair oil, no serum, no hair sprays, and no gels with just the use of shampoo & conditioner. Many countries didn't even have bottled shampoo & conditioner, example in my country, all we've ever used was a bar of soap for our bodies, hair & laundry. I did that for 13 years, even though my hair was permed, but there was no frizzy, no drying and my hair was the same as today: silky, shiny, soft, smooth it IS HOW they are styled when they're wet, and no hair dryer (for 13 years I lived in Asia). Many women then had long hair, curly hair and they wore hats, and pin-curled or plastic curlers curled HAIRSTYLES. The men too, have very shiny hair like the women, although the men used pomade . . .that was before Bumble & Bumble's production 70's, John Frieda's production 1988 or the invention of heating tools. Another way to find the secret to beautiful hair? Find someone with beautiful healthy curls or straight hair and ask him or her to share secrets, preferably someone who is 40-60 years older than YOU.

People slept with their curlers on, or sit in the beauty salon for 20 mins. under a helmet of hair dryer.

Curlers comes in small, medium, large curlers.
Small if you want tighter curls, shorter hair.
Medium: medium curls, medium length hair.
Large: longer hair, larger curls.

"smaller section of hair you use the tighter/bouncier the curl, and the longer bigger section you use the bigger the wave or loose the curl. "

Start your curlers, where you want the curls to begin.

You can also pin curls your hair, if they're short to medium. You can also braid your hair the night before, several sections of braid . . . .after they've been wash, all night and sleep with them, and take the braids out in the morning. Finger comb to style. Use scarf to keep them from the wind.

Best advice is to style your hair when they're still damp. The style will remain until you get home from school! I started getting perms in 2nd grade, that's HOW I styled my hair and they were styled until I go to bed!

How do you curl wig hair without using heat?

Synthetic wigs are made of plastic strings that are heated to extend the length of hair. The manufacturers bend the plastic to create curls and waves. Using curlers and low heat is a simple way to curl wigs without paying for more wigs and allows you to make hairstyles to fit your style.

Instructions.

1
Place a dry wig on top of the wig head. Using a wig head makes applying curlers and brushing the hair easier.

2
Brush hair with a metal bristle brush. Brushing the hair removes tangles and lint and makes tighter curls.

3
Wrap strips of hair around curlers. Start with at least 2 inches of hair or expand the width depending on how big you want your curls to be. A smaller width of hair creates smaller and tighter curls and a wider width of hair creates larger and loose curls. Begin at the ends of the hair and wrap the hair around the curler until the curler reaches close to the scalp. Wrap hair tightly around the curler.

4
Secure hair with a wig pin. Push the pin into hair through the curler.

5
Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all the hair is wrapped in curlers.

6
Blow dry hair to set the curls. Blow dry hair on the lowest setting to avoid burning hair. Blow dry for 10 to 30 minutes or until the hair is warm to the touch. The length of time may vary.

7
Remove the curlers from the hair and style.

How to get my naturally curly hair wavy without heat?

1.) Turn upside down and spray freshly washed roots with volumizing or texturizing spray. Massage it in (stylist Garren insists the rubbing motion creates body and texture). I like Bumble and Bumble or you can try cheaper products like Pantene Do the Wave, or Sunsilk Salt Spray.

2.) If hair is naturally coarse or curly, work a straightening balm through hair. You can find them at your local drugstore or Wal-Mart.

3.) Then like scrunch your hair.

However If I were you I would buy a diffuser they are relatively cheap and can be bought anywhere basically. Wal-Mart has some for like 30 bucks and they are pretty good, what they do is they dry your hair wavy. They are meant for people with naturally curly hair to take the frizziness out of them. It's what I use, and it works great, and there is no heat damage! I would def try this!

HOPE THAT HELPED :)

I want to straighten my permed hair without heat.?

I am a natural blonde. I got my hair permed in March, so I have a little while until my hair goes back to being naturally straight. My hair has grown out. The top part of my hair is straight, but the ends are curly. I really want to straighten my hair without using heat. I use Joyco shampoo and conditioner. I then use, after towel drying my hair, Paul Mitchell's smoothing gloss. Can anyone help me figure out how to straighten my hair, without using heat and more chemicals????
