Im 16 years old and im 5'6. I weight about 154 pounds. I want to weight 140 by the end of the summer. I plan on running outdoors for about 30 minutes 3 or 4 times a week. I also plan on eating healthier. I was wondering if this will work. If so? Any tips?

exercise so do not just go for peeps addicted to the whole OH "I MUST JOIN A GYM/EXERCISE DAILY TO LOSE ALOT OF Weight"it's all caca....
then again i also had help PRO ACTOL i am on currently but last year i had use black ice with ephedra supplement and

i ate last january 1st till february 5th NOTHING BUT APPLE
JACK FROOT LOOP OR SPECIAL K RAISIN BRAN AND
APPLE SAUCE FRUIT VEGGIES(THREE HELPINGS A MINIMUM of kale/spinach etc. and LOADS OF AGUA!(water and much of it)1.2 gal and or a whole gallon daily and or every other day and i DID ABSOLUTELY NOOOOOOO EXERCISE,AND I WAS SO HAPPY LOST BY APRIL/MAY 30 POUND AROUND THERE MAYBE 27.GOOD LUCK.

i know just the thing...
first, everytime i hear the word "diet" i cringe. when i think of a diet i think of all these strict rules that i know make me miserable if i were on it. besides that, those diets usually do not work long term

next, 15 pounds is a lot to lose in the couple months we have left. i might lower your goal a bit, and you can keeping going after the summer of course.

ok, here is the stuff. losing weight is probably more about the activities you do rather than what you eat. when you do a lot of exercise your metabolism increases and you get hungrier and actually eat more without gaining. its great! however, a general rule for what to eat is this. you are what you eat. LITERALLY! your body is made up of cells. a law of chemisty is that you cannot create or destroy matter (ie the cells of your body). so you cells have to come from somewhere. the only material input your body receives is what you eat and drink.

so whatever you eat, ask yourself, "is this food benefiting the growth of my body?" vegetables, meats, fruits = yes. pizza, cake, deep fried foods = no. its important to balance your food. its ok to eat desserts and fried stuff, just make sure you are eating more of the stuff that is good for you! eating well may not taste the best at first, but you will notice that you start to feel better and have more energy in a few days. and this is something you should keep up! dont stop after you reach your goal.

as i said earlier, exercise is very important. make a plan to do an activity a certain amount of times per week. for me its running. i started out with just running a mile 2 times a week. after about 2 weeks started increasing the distance and i also noticed i was losing weight around my middle WHILE being able to eat a ton more! i have since gradually increased my running distance to 3 miles each time i run. you don't have to choose running. just choose something that works your body. it should make you tired! keep with it and increase it.

-eat a lot more healthy food than bad food
-be physically active
