How Can I Make My Bedroom Make Me Feel Safe

I only feel safe in my room? Why?

I get so anxious whenever i have to leave my room. It feels like the only place Im safe. Im homeschooled so i spend a lot of time in here. But why am i so afraid to leave my room?

Do you feel safe enough to leave your bedroom window open at night?

I think anyone who leaves a window wide open while they sleep is not facing reality or thinking what they read in the news can't possibly happen to them.

I keep my window only slightly open and use a window alarm. Do you live near a Radio Shack, Best Buy or Walmart? You can buy a relatively cheap window alarm and adjust the settings so that the window can be opened a certain amount. When you need to open or close the window, just shut the alarm off and then reset it when you have it like you want it.

Here is a link showing one type. It doesn't show the type I have, which is a 'stick on' type that I bought for twelve dollars. It runs on a battery, and it has double stick tape and has been on the window for over three years. If anything knocks against that window, it sets off a shrill alarm that would wake the dead. If my room gets too cold from the open window, I switch the alarm off, close and lock the window, and turn the alarm back on again. Mine has a red light that lets me know the alarm is on and a green light to tell me the battery is good.

Is it safer to sleep with the bedroom door locked or unlocked?

I thnk you would feel better if you have a complete escape plan in your head and that you can practice.
You could also put a couple smoke dectectors and motion alams in your room to wake you up.........you could 'rig' a loud alarm that you could attach to the others that would make them sound louder.....or find someone good in those things to rig one for you..........
Then you could put all this in your mind by using eft.....emofree dot com 'learn eft' for free.............and tell youself and 'angels' to please wake you up in time if it is ever necessary and be specific, also...........

How to feel safe while home alone for a week?

first things first..... don't tell everyone and their other brother that you'll be alone for a week!!!... no Tweets or Facebook posts about it!!..... and don't call and text everyone you know, either!.... just carry on normally.... but when you're home, day or night, lock up behind yourself when you come in..... be very safe in the kitchen... with knives and while cooking..... go to bed at the regular time, turn on and off the lights in other rooms as if your folks were in their room, too..... keep the mail picked up and the papers..... and keep your cell phone charged and on your person..... you'll do fine and your folks will be proud of you.....

Why do we feel safe under a blanket?

I would say because it symbolizes a short of shield or cover in our minds. I would assume this is also because fear preys on many of the senses to fuel that fear. When you minimize or eliminate the exposure to these senses to whatever is causing you fear or stress, that stress and fear tends to go down.Touch - When you feel the blanket around you, you feel warmth, softness. No coldness, or darkness. It separates you from that, creates a small physical and a mental barrier. It might also have something to do when we are in our mothers womb and the blanket can remind us of that giving you some comfort. It also gives you something to hold onto, to clutch, like a comfort object.Sight - You’ve heard the saying “Seeing is believing” and when you can’t see anything you aren’t focused on like that scary dark closet or source of an erie noise can go away. It gets filtered to the back of your conscious and things more prevalent are brought to the front.Hearing - Most blankets I have in my house are pretty big and heavy so noise is muffled a lot if you were to wrap yourself in one. This again goes with minimizing exposure. When you can’t hear many of the things outside around you, you might think that the source of trouble is gone. You’re left alone with your thoughts and can think things through. Its like a happy place where its you and only you. While this isn’t the same for everyone it was my experience as a child that hiding under a blanket seemed to be an impenetrable barrier that if I couldn’t see, hear, or smell the monster is couldn't see, hear, or smell me.

I don't feel safe in my own home at night?

Those sound like pretty normal thoughts.Just try not to obsess on certain negative thoughts, like someone is going to get me or someone is out there.Just try to move past the fear and think of something better. Like getting some rest.
Don't watch intense movies, news dramas, or play on the computer at night. These things tend to keep you hyped up. Drink some herbal tea (caffeine free) about an hour before bedtime. If this problem persist there may be some underlying issues that will require professional help.

I don't feel safe in my apartment?

Buy a gun. Hand guns work well, you can also buy tactical shotguns. (shotguns w/ short barrels and pistol grips) that usually sends people running for there life. for a pistol Id recommend hollow point ammunition and for the shot gun id recommend slugs. Remember: its cheaper to kill some one then it is to cripple them! These are gangsters with no respect for the law. and if you live in a some what ghetto area good luck with police, thats a ******* joke. A dog is also a good idea, but you do need to have them trained and pick a female (thay happen to be the most aggressive), wich takes some time. Id suggest magnate locks on the sliding door, so even if thay pop the track thay will set of an alarm. also some sorta alternitave locking device rather then keys. Bump keys are very commen, can be made at home and very easy to use. If you do get a gun the next thing you need is balls to shoot first. Trespassing will and can get a person shot and unexspected guest have it comming. These people are lover then dirt so if you do end up laying some punk *** out in chalk it would be a lesson that dont **** with people. Also Id like to say that tasers are not as good as people say, Ive been tased and I feer the pepper spray more. and if you want to ruin some ones life you will use bear mace! as soon as some one is in your house with out permissions thay are your ***** from that point on. I just delt with some thieves the other day, my aunt saw him comming up the drive way in his car at 3 a.m so she called me and I ended up stabbing him. the cops took my knife and said this is a wepon we need to look at and have a nice night! if thay know your in the right thay will leave you alone.
IDk what your spending limits is but...
Tactical shotgun: ruffly $500
I saw a 9mm ruger glock at the pawn shop the other day for $275
bear mace maby $20
Magnate locks $19.99 LoL there easy to make its a fun arts and crafts project realy.
Pit bulls and rotwielers are the most commen atack dogs and your easly gunna drop $1000, but make great companions.

HAPPY HUNTING!

How do you make yourself feel safe?

A man on a red horse charged me, and oddly I was in a hallway, a narrow hallway, and there was no room to stand aside. The man had a double-barreled shotgun in his hands, a side-by-side, and was aiming to empty both barrels full of lead into my face - probably blowing my head off, if not to smithereens.I held up my right hand and said “Jesus Christ” at the same instant the man pulled both triggers. There was a flash of light - (I didn’t blink) - and nothing happened to me and the man, the horse and the shotgun vanished as suddenly as they’d appeared.I awoke sitting upright in my bed, arm outstretched - with the ‘boom’ of the shotgun ringing in my ears.Sit at the feet of Jesus, and nothing to fear, although a thousand or ten thousand shall fall by thy side, nothing, by any means shall hurt you, you will not stub your toe against a stone - all it takes is faith - faith that God is in Control of Everything!

Locking my bedroom door at night?

Your family is just probably worried that you're doing something that your not supposed to be doing. I occasionally lock my doors when I feel as if its a creepy night. My family isn't the biggest fan of it either, but sometimes I have little flip-out "what-ifs" and lock my door. There's no problem doing what you're doing. And if you haven't already, explain that locking your door is your "security blanket"
