How Can I Not Care About What Other People Think Of My Style Change

Should i care what people think of my clothes?

Im 17 and starting college (England) in a few weeks but ive noticed that girls here the trend is to wear crop tops, black jeans and trainers but im really not into that. I like wearing nice dresses and midi skirts, nice classic heels ( Not at school obviously) and have my hair and makeup done every day. Im more on the curvier side so wearing crop tops im not comfortable with but it seems these days you get picked on either way! Should i change the way i like to dress so i wont be picked on or should i just do me?

I'm too 'scared to change my 'style' and appearance ?

I went through this last year.
Last year my fashion was....blechhhh, and I was also afraid to change because I though people would be like "Oh look at her. Shes changing. Shes a poser. Shes fake. Blahh Blahh Blahh!" But the only reason someone would say that is because they're too insecure and they wouldn't be able to do what I was wanting to do so they brought me down.
Well everytime they said something to me I was like "I really don't care. If you don't like it then thats your problem so you can get over it."
They didn't say anything else about it to me.
This year Im more upbeat and even more fashionable than last year so people always say "You are so pretty! I love your clothes!" and all the stuff like that. So by just saying what I did, people respected me because I stand up for who I was.
Thats what you need to do.
Hope it Helps!!

Will people notice if I change my clothes?

I wore a red , black or a blue T-shirt paired with a blue jeans and sport shoes ,alternatively for 2 years. Yes that was my set of clothes kept strictly for tuition purpose . I even got my tagline of Tom boy for that look. One day it was raining heavily and I don't remember the exact circumstances leading to my change in attire and I ended up wearing blue shorts (to avoid the muddy water that blocks the street during rainy season )with white T shirt. And hell ya , people did notice the change. So to answer your question. Yes , people will notice any change in your continuous monotonous lifestyle .. be it your clothes or hairstyle or anything…But why do you care? Do what you want to do. Unless it does not involve hurting others, Everything is fine.:)Regards,SRThanks for the edits :p @Akansha Mangal

How can I change my clothing style without being labeled a poser?

I think its easier said than done when people say "don't worry about what other people think" especially if you are in your teens. Obviously you shouldn't care but its only human to not want other people to think you're fake or whatever... The best advice is what others have said.. do it slow, introduce clothing piece by piece week by week.

How can you change your style without being called a poser?

In my opinion you shouldn't care if people think your a poser b/c they probably are lol! Don't worry about what other people think!I know you've probably heard it 1 000 000 times but Hey! Its True! And i know no matter what i say, you'll probably still care what other people think deep down, its human nature! So heres my advise... DOn't change all at once like i mean don't be all preppy one day then come to school and be all emo/goth with make up and black clothing...for example just start changing a little at a time like one day maybe where the shoes then a few days later your pants or top but just give it time and take little steps towards changing! Thats my best advise for you!! Good night and good luck!

Can i change my style? Where can i shop for the hipster style?

Im an average 15 year old girl. And by average i mean casual and not lazy nor active. Im planning on changing my style from sweatshirts/t-shirts and jeans to hipster or just trying to be stylish. I want my junior and senior year in highschool to be the best and id think im gonna hav that if i hav an "i dont care" attitude. What places are popular to shop for hipster style clothes? (Nothing provocative plzz) and also, im not a popular girl. Again, im average. Im known as the quiet, sweetheart. Its amazing how the fake people who are popular at my school are the ones that are intimadating and adored, while people like me are labeled as a nerd and shy. ANYWAY hahaha, will it be wierd if i just show up junior year the COMPLETE opposite than i was in sophmore year? Will i just be judged? I defin dont want to be labeled fake, eventhough im 100% real i am a sensitive "sweatheart" and i hate conflict/being the center of attention. Plzz answer and thanks so much for this long boring question. Obviously im not good with getting to the point :P

How can I deal with people copying my style (mannerisms, clothes, appearance)?

Stop caring. Why does it matter? At a certain point during high school, I was the “King of Goths.”I noted that, soon after, a number of student began copying my manner of dress. Suddenly, combat boots were all the rage. Oh look, dyed hair! Wait, is that… Black eyeliner? Hmm, fishnets… Alright, alright, where the fuck are you people getting leather pants!? Cause you sure as hell don’t know where Trash & Vaudeville is!It bothered me to hell and back - but I grew up. I matured. And you know what?I realized it doesnt matter. Fashion is a conscious manifestation of external image - an overt attempt to modify the manner in which we are perceived. As an adult, I learned to cycle between an elegant business suit and fedora, comfortably casual or utilitarian dress akin to an office assistant or construction worker, or - on rare occasions - you may see me put on my high-end velvet-lined trench coat, a nice velvet brocade vest over a pressed dress-shirt, some fine cuff links, form-fitting slacks, and proper Italian black leather dress shoes. Admittedly, I still have a penchant for wearing far too much black, but I’ve learned not to take it so seriously.Still a goth at heart, though I no longer call myself such a thing. It is far too stifling and simplistic a label. I am, yet I am far more.As are you. You are not the measure of your dress. Others copying you is, frankly, flattering! It means they liked what they saw so much they just had to memorize it, track it down, spend valuable money on it, and then risk looking like a copycat by wearing it.Be proud, my friend. You’ve started a revolution. ;)
