My daughter needs a good audition song for Grease?

Douglas, read the whole freakin post this woman made and you'll see that songs from Grease are NOT acceptable for her audition. gosh. -.-
anyway, pop songs she could audition with:
the man that got away - katy perry (more of a belty song)
teenage dream - katy perry (shows both lower register and higher register)

songs from musicals she could do:
not for the life of me - thoroughly modern millie (lower register & belt)
i dreamed a dream - les miserables (lower register & high belt)
tell her i love her - urinetown (both lower & higher register)
the lamest place in the world - 13 the musical (high belt)
what it means to be a friend - 13 the musical (high belt)

does she need to bring in sheet music? if so, do NOT bring in anything by JASON ROBERT BROWN or SONDHEIM. you should never bring in those composers to a pianist, for they are very difficult to play.
if she can bring in her own accompaniment, then i suggest:
i'm not afraid of anything - songs for a new world (shows both lower register & high register, VERY good audition song to show all parts of a female's range)
the worst pies in london - sweeney todd: the demon barber of fleet street (mostly higher register, some low parts required, belt or head voice is optional depending on the stylistic choice you go with).

hope this helps! :)

What is the single greatest rock song of all time? Why?

Stairway to Heaven - Led ZeppelinAah! Stairway To Heaven! One of the best goddamn Rock songs ever produced! The lyrics are out-of-this-world, the rhythm is extremely enticing, and the lyrics are impeccable. So what if it’s a long song? It still is one of the most awesome Rock songs out there. The transition from slow, acoustic rock to the high tempo hard Rock is just too good to be true. I’m not sure, but when Led Zeppelin first performed this song live, the number of people attending the concert was more than any other.“Stairway To Heaven” is a song from Led Zeppelin’s untitled album (Often called “Led Zeppelin IV“). It was released in 1971, and it completely changed the perspective of Rock forever. It is still considered to be one of the best Rock songs ever. The song did wonders all over the world, peaking at Number 3 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Rock Songs, Number 31 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time. It was also the most requested song on the radio in the 70’s. It also made it to a commendable Number 37 on the U.K. Singles Chart. [Source: Wikipedia]The song starts with a soothing melody, consisting of a blend of the acoustic guitar and the flute. It really sounds heavenly (Pun intended!) to the ear. Interestingly, John Paul Jones (The bass guitarist) decided not to give this song a bass backbone. Instead, he used a flute and musical strings to form the bass of the song. Cool, isn’t it? Throughout the song, the acoustic guitar and the lead guitar (Jimmy Page) completely captivate one’s mind. The sudden transition from the mellow acoustic guitar to the electric guitar (Or the double guitar, which Page used) is really awesome. The lyrics are mind boggling, with infinite intensity on the song. There are loops, highs, lows, keyboards, awesome beats, and what not! This is one of the best Rock songs we’re talking about here! How can you even THINK I would give this masterpiece anything less than 10? A perfect 10/10 it is!

What song first comes to mind when hearing the word "because"?

The song, “Because I Have Been Given Much,” comes immediate to my mind:Because I have been given much,I too must give;Because of thy great bounty Lord,Each day I live;I shall divide my gifts from theeWith every brother that I seeWho has the need of help from me.Because I have been sheltered, fedBy thy good care;I cannot see another’s lack and I not share; My glowing fire, my loaf of bread,my roof's safe shelter overheadThat he too may be comforted.Because I have been blessed bythy great love dear Lord;I’ll share thy love againAccording to thy word;I shall give love to those in need,I’ll show that love by word and deed; Thus shall my thanks be thanks in deed.Music by Phillip Landgrave (1975)Lyrics by Grace Noll Crowell (1936)
