Where can I sell my photos online?

The short answer is there are no free photo sites that will let you sell your images online that are going to meet your needs. My guess is you want to post an image, put a price under it and the site then completes the transaction for you. I'm not sure if you're willing to ship the image yourself or want it drop shipped but here are your options.

There are a number of sites that will let you post images and if people want to buy them the site will take a percentage of any profit of items you sell. For example... ImageKind. You can put your images on the site and they will fulfill your order but they will also take a percentage of your sale. They're free, but if you want anything other then your images among 1000's of others you're going to pay. Their prices for images are also pretty steep so if customers want to buy from you they will pay a lot and you won't make a lot of money.

Another option is Etsy... You can show your items and people can buy them. They also take a percentage of your total sale. The hook with them is you have to print and ship anything you sell to the customer yourself. You can have a "store" but the options are limited. They're also not necessarily known as a "photography" site.

In the end, if you're doing weddings, portraits, babies or pets just bite the bullet and go to a a site like zenfolio or smugmug. They make it easier. They accept credit cards and/or paypal and handle all the transactions. They have shopping carts and make it easy for customers to buy your product. Their prices for prints are fairly reasonable and you can make more money because of that. They do take a percentage of your total sale but from my perspective they're worth it since they fulfill your order and drop ship it to the customer. Their base plan outside of the 14 day trial is $25 or $50 for an entire year. I'm sure smugmug has similar plans and I know they have similar options.

As a side note... If you're doing landscape photography chances are you don't necessarily need a storefront site since you're going to sell more at art shows and, some day, galleries then you will online. You can have your online presence on Flickr or 500 Pixels and put the web address on your business cards if you want to show your work. Just be careful flikckr or 500 pixels don't know you're selling your images and using them as a storefront since it's against their terms of service.

How do I sell my photography?

My start in selling photography was not exactly selling them per se, but instead being hired by a small business. The small business will give you some money and exposure, to help you build yourself up.When I could afford a camera from the money I made from photography, I began selling them at auctions, the first one being for cousin’s Cystic Fibrosis road race fundraiser. A mutual cousin of ours has Cystic Fibrosis, so I donated two images, and they sold for about 50% more than I spent on them, effectively doubling my donating, getting me exposure, and allowing me to see my photos printed, albeit briefly.I then donated after Hurricane Matthew to an online auction for recovery efforts. It hit hard near where my cousin went to school, and she worked on facilitating the auction. I sold two photos again, this time for $100 and $120, which was much more than 4 times what I paid for it.I also paid for the prints beforehand and had them at home for a long time, and they were absolutely gorgeous. These were the first I had done from a professional company. Most recently, I sold two photos for a charity auction for Boy Scouts.During all of these, I have gotten people interested in my photography, and as a result I have been able to garner interest in prints of mine.I haven’t sold any for my own profit, yet, but I am planning to by the end of April when my new site goes live.

How can I sell my photos on Foap?

Here are couple of tips which should increase your selling chances:Make sure to add appropriate caption and as more accurate tags as possible. The more tags you add the more chances that your photo will be found and bought, because often one thing can be named differently, that's why you have to think of ALL possible names for what's portrayed on your photo. And don’t forget to answer legal questions associated with the photos. One of the better ways to get an idea of what kind of photos sell best is analyzing the sold photos under the "Recently sold" tab and the photos which have won various Missions (winners together with their photos can be found by opening the Mission and clicking "Winner"). Also it's good to analyze the profiles of users who have won a Mission or sold photos, as they usually have more good photos which should help you in understanding what kind of photos Foap buyers look for mostly.Uploading to Missions is a good way of selling your photos, because even if you don't win a Mission, the brand that runs it will often purchase a certain amount of photos from that Mission for $10 each (of which you get $5). Some of our users have sold up to 10 photos in only one Mission! Essential thing is to upload only high quality and description following photos and you'll surely increase your chances of selling. Don’t forget to send a model release if there’s a recognizable face on your photo (2 model releases if there are 2 faces, 3 if there are 3 faces etc.).The below links should be also helpful for you:6 tips on how to sell on FoapHow to tag photos to sell more7 photography techniques, tips and tricks for taking pictures of anythingGood luck in selling your photos on Foap!

How do I sell photos on imagesbazaar.com?

Imagesbazaar – they wanted to sell images and videos onlineImagesbazaar .com today is the world’s largest collection of Indian images & videos. A brainchild of Sandeep Maheshwari who in himself is a brand today. They wanted a platform which can help them sell images online with ease. This included permissions to create and manage categories, define keywords and keyword variations at same time (tagging an image as women should also tag it automatically with girl, lady, female) and automation of image deliveries in different sizes for the purchase done by the B2B buyer. The Challenge we hadWe started working with Imagesbazaar .com in 2006. They came to us with a problem of a sluggish search which was leading to loss of business. At that time the database size was not that big and they had a small collection but the database design was limiting their growth.Improvising on search speed and then developing other value added features were the main requirement of the business at that time.Started a portal to sell images onlineWe remodelled the whole solution at that time and made sure that the search results come in less than 7 seconds. As on date today Imagesbazaar is the world’s largest collection of Indian images & video’s with more than 1 million images & video’s that they sell online. We offer a technology platform that assist them achieve the same with automatic delivery and image watermarking functionalities.

Where can I sell my photography online?

There are a number of ways to sell your photos online.Firstly, it's beneficial to have your own portfolio — there are plenty of services that allow you to create one, including 500px ($75/year), Smugmug ($300/year), or Photoshelter ($540/year)*. You can sell prints and try to find clientele by using your social media to drive traffic to your portfolio.Secondly, consider selling  photos for stock. There are a few options: 500px, Stocksy, Shutterstock, etc. They pay differently: 500px pays you up to 70%, Stocksy pays 50% and Shutterstock pays 27%. The pricing also differs — when 500px sells photos in a range of $35-750 per shot, Shutterstock generally sells for $2.There are also a lot of resources online that help you discover what sells (i.e. I wrote an article about How I Made $1,602.50 With 500px Prime In Just A Few Weeks).Lastly, consider trying to find clients for a commissioned work. For that, it's important to find and establish own style, so clients know what they will get. This will generally bring you the most revenue (solid established photographers charge in a range of $500-2000 a day), but also it's the hardest one to book if you are doing it by yourself (you will spend time doing accounting, business development, follow ups, and so on).Good luck, and most importantly, keep shooting and sharing your work widely. * quoting top tier plans on all platforms

How do I sell my photos to a photo frame company?

Good question! Frame companies usually buy their photos from "Stock" companies. These are businesses that store photos, hundreds of thousands of them. There are many websites and books that can teach you how to become a "Stock photographer", just google it.

A better bet is to do one of two things:

1. Google online frame and mat companies websites, and see if they accept photos for consideration. One of my favorite is Photographers Edge, who gives credits and even highlights photographers! They also have a great catalog, once again with full credits. Check them out at http://www.photographersedge.com/

2. Post your photos online in either a store or a photo site like Flickr. Be sure to leave them public for all to see, then tag them well and post them in groups for exposure. I have had one photo chosen for a book, several for websites, and even one chosen for an exhibit at a zoo! All without submitting a single entry.

Good luck.
