How Can I Shrink My Stomach

How can I shrink my stomach capacity?

Your stomach is not a bag. It is a muscle. When you feel, “full” it’s not because your stomach is actually full. It’s because your body has decided that you’ve eaten enough and has triggered your stomach to contract. So, you don’t actually need to shrink your stomach, but instead you need to reduce your appetite.Your body will get hungry when you run out of energy for fuel. However, if you have any body fat, you have not run out of fuel and most likely won’t.A typical person who weighs 150 lbs and has 20% body fat has 30 lbs of fat on their body. Each pound of fat has 3500 useable calories. That comes to 105,000 calories of stored energy that should be available for your body to use whenever your body needs energy. However, if you eat a lot of carbs, that stimulates your body to produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone that tells your fat cells to store sugar and turn it into fat, and prevents your fat cells from releasing fat into your blood to be used for energy.Therefor, if you’re on a high carb diet, your fat cells will refuse to release energy for your body to use, so you will get hungry all the time, and you’ll have a very difficult time eliminating fat from your body.Your body will actually be starving while you have 105,000 calories of fat stored on your body.

Is it possible for your stomach to shrink?

Yes, it is in fact necessary for your stomach to shrink and stretch. Think about it, if someone is used to eating very small meals everyday and then Thanksgiving comes around and they stuff themselves with food, you ate more then you normally do so it stretches a little bit to comfortably fit the food. That's one reason when you feel full that you have a slight tightness in your stomach area.

They even have a surgery that they use for dramatic weight loss where they basically place a ring on the lower part of your esophagus so your stomach shrinks slowly and a little at a time so you won't eat as much and so you will lose weight. So it is absolutely possible your stomach shrunk a little bit and it can't handle the food so you have a little bit of upset stomach. It happens to me around the holidays because that's when i pig out and my stomach really hurts.

It could also be because you have been eating so healthy lately and then all of this food that maybe isn't as healthy isn't what the body is used to so it throws it into sort of a "shock" and upsets your stomach and causes bad bathroom habits.

Just go easy the next couple days and eat light and healthy and drink a sufficient amount of water. You can also do exercises to help twist and work the food out quicker so you feel better. It'll pass. Happens to me about 3 times a year so I know how you are feeling.

Best of luck!

Did my stomach shrink?

I haven't lost any weight. I was violently sick exactly one week ago today (from what I assume to be some kind of 24-hour flu) and I spent seven hours puking my guts out, then sleeping the whole next day. Since then I hadn't had much of an appetite, so I would just pick at things here and there but I wasn't hungry enough to eat a meal. Last night my boyfriend's parents took us out to dinner and I was craving a cheeseburger with fries, so I ordered one, and usually I can eat the whole thing, but last night I ate half the hamburger and half the fries and I felt like I had eaten four whole chickens, I was so full. Did my stomach shrink over the past week from not eating? Is that possible? Like I said, I haven't lost any weight (as far as I can tell - our scale is broken, so I'm just going by my appearance).

Do pickles shrink your stomach?

My friend once told me if you eat pickles the acid in them makes your stomach shrink, like when you eat something sour and your taste buds shrink. I was just wondering cause I am looking for ways to lose weight and a small stomach might help. :D

Does a growling stomach make your stomach shrink?

I am sorry to say, but your mother is incorrect in this regard.

The growling of your stomach (and intestines too) has to do with the presence of air within your gut. Your gut is a hollow tube that is lined with muscle. This muscle contracts even when you are hungry, producing waves of activity known as Migrating Myoelectric Complexes. Between meals these Migrating Myoelectric Complexes propagate along the entire length of the gut. The continued contractions of the stomach and intestines serve to keep mucus, remaining foodstuffs and bacteria from accumulating at any one site. The contractions also produce vibrations when air bubbles become trapped in the lumen. These vibrations produce the growling noises associated with hunger.

So having air in your stomach rather than food will do nothing to cause your stomach to "shrink in size".

To lose weight eat a balanced meal that is less in calories than you expend by activity.

I think that many people are confused by the scientific study that DID PROVE that if people have ENLARGED stomachs, stretched from overeating, that by eating smaller amounts the stomach will become smaller RETURNING TO SIZE.

How long does it take for your stomach to ''shrink'' after you don't eat properly for a while?

Your stomach will never shrink. It will remain at the same size throughout your adult life. Your recent experience with decreased appetite is very common during and immediately following most illnesses. It does not mean your stomach has shrunk.

In cases where people deliberately make substantial reductions in the volumne of food they eat, it takes several days, but they will get used to the lesser volumne, and if they then consume a large meal, they can feel quite uncomfortable. Still, their stomachs have not shrink nor grown larger.

Does doing sit ups shrink your stomach?

It will only admuscle to your stomack wall but will not shrink your stomach.

Does eating less make your stomach shrink?

You'll end up gaining more weight like that. You'll starve your body that way and eventually you'll be end up eating a whole at once. That could also lead to anorexia, so more problems. Listen I weighed 250lbs once now I'm 155. All I did was eat less and healthy for the most part. Drank plenty of water and 2 glasses of milk each day and I exercised regularly. It's not easy but if you want it bad enough you'll make it work. At first I tried something similar to what you are considering, yeah I lost the weight but it also came back pretty quick.

The right way is slower but the results lasts longer and you will feel better being healthier. It's going on 2 years and my weight hasn't risen past 160. Listen if it is easy then you won't appreciate it as much as when you have to work for it. Why? Because it's your discipline, sweat and determination that helped you get to where you are and it will keep you at the weight you want to be. As opposed to losing it quick without discipline and hardwork. It'll come back quickly because you haven't trained your body to desire healthy food and developed a habit to workout. So yes your stomach will shrink the way you mentioned but only to get bigger again.
