How to transfer UNpurchased music from laptop to itunes?

I recently went from an Android phone to the iPhone 5s. I have all of my music saved from an SDcard to my laptop. Some music is bought some not. All files are MP3 files according to the properties but only the purchased music will sync to itunes. I have tried to manually drag the files into itunes but it drags and says it's a link and then of course does not show up in itunes. The music that won't move has no album, track number, etc listed unlike all the other music. Is there any way possible for the music to be transferred to itunes. Also in some of the music folders there is a file named musicmetadata710. This file is in some folders that are purchased music and in other folders that are unbought. The file won't open on my laptop...it's just there. Ok I think that's all. If something can be done I would love a reply if not...fooey :/ Helpppp
