How Can I Unlock My Iphone 5s That Is Working With Cricket To Use It In Mexico

What is a Sim Network Unlock Pin?

A“Sim Network Unlock Pin (NUP)” or“Network Unlock Code (NUC)” will remove the carrier lock built into GSM mobile phones by services providers to restrict the use of these phones to specific countries and/or networks. These are usually referred to as "Network (NCK)" or "Service Provider (SPCK)" locks and can be removed using the corresponding unlock codes, which are unique to each phone depending on its IMEI.Typically, a locked handset will display a message if a restricted SIM is used, requesting the unlock code. On recent phone models running Android software, the phone will display a message saying “SIM network unlock PIN” or “Enter Network Lock Control Key” if network locked. Windows phones will display the message, “This SIM card can only be used on specific networks".Unlocking the phone is universally legal so there are more reliable services like https://www.unlockradar.com, that will unlock your cell phone so you can use it with other carriers. The unlock code is verified by the handset and is generated by the manufacturer, typically using an algorithm such as a one way hash or trapdoor function. Sometimes big telecom providers change the original factory unlock codes as an extra layer of security against unlocking services. For various big brands such as Samsung and Motorola there is no algorithm but just a random code generator where the unlock codes are programmed in the phone itself and then saved in a big database managed by the manufacturer. The unlock companies like Unlockradar have access to these databases and that is how they can deliver unlock codes to their customers.

I am getting an iPhone 7 from USA. Will it work in India?

Phones in the US are more often sold with contract of telcos. These contracted phones are much less expensive than those in the market. But, they are network locked - meaning no other SIM other than that of the contracted network (like Verizon, At&t) will work on it. Thus, these won't accept any Indian SIM cards.Any network locked phone can be unlocked from most local phone shops or just by simple YouTube vidoes. But, there may be the branding and some apps of the original carrier left in your phone. This too can be removed by jailbreaking the iPhone.Another aspect is that, make sure that the phone runs GSM network and NOT CDMA. Currently, only Docomo & BSNL run CDMA and this is quite outdated in India. Also verify it supports the network frequencies (900/1800/2100/2300MHz) available in India.Make sure it's the original iPhone itself and not any clone. A clone appears exactly the same as the original and may even seem to run same iOS initially. But these are cheap Chinese stuff. If you are getting the phone from your friend/relative you can ignore this.Edit4. Warranty - You may not get this. But you can certainly pay and repair at apple service centres in India or purchase one with premium international warranty (apple care+). Do check with apple official site as my knowledge is limited here.

Apple iphone on cricket. Should i buy it?

I will be shooting from the hip with this recommendation since i have never used cricket services, but here it goes. iPhones are high-end smartphones and Is constantly updating.. Only purchase this phone if your serious about it. A newer iPhone is rumored to be releasing this fall but there has been many uncertainties. Now I'll throw some techie advice at you. Prepaid services such as Cricket and Virgin Mobile who have acquired the iPhone 4S have altered lower models such as the 8GB model to solely operate their cellular networks because they are widely different from the competitors (AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint), So be wary of this. If your planning on paying the big money then be prepared for the charges that come with it. These no-contract services have no ties with Apple so they will not offer any support when it comes to maintaining the device, You'll have to purchase AppleCare after your one-year warranty is up (that is if you plan to have insurance on the iPhone, which is highly recommend). Plus, I'm not sure about monthly cellular plans that are offered through Cricket so be aware of them before you buy. iPhones uses data, even if your not using it (Runs internet-based apps in background) unless your connected to Wifi, if your provider offers unlimited data, then thats a plus. In the end, this is solely a personal decision, purchase this phone only if your serious about and if it tends to your personal needs when using a mobile device. Good luck, my friend :)

Can an iPhone from Mexico be used in the U.S.?

Yes, but only with compatible GSM carriers, and with a risk of sub-optimal coverage. As long as the iPhone is unlocked, it can be used with any US carrier’s GSM-compliant SIM cards. At the moment only T-Mobile is completely GSM-based and some AT&T phones are; the MVNO’s of those two carriers may also be GSM-based (Lycamobile, PlatinumTel, SimpleTalk, Cricket etc.).However, coverage may be less than with US-sourced phones. There are multiple “bands” of GSM and so the coverage may be less than US carrier-specific iPhones; T-Mobile, for example, uses, among several, the 1700 band, not accessible on many other GSM phones.Verizon and Sprint use CDMA-compliant phones, so, in general, their US SIM cards are NOT compatible with international cell phones.

How do you use a TracFone SIM card in an unlocked phone?

K. Franko had the best answer of them all…While you can switch your sim to a compatible phone and it will call and access data, etc; the cs rep at tracfone stated that there might/will be problems later as tracfone will still have the old esn tied to that sim. So temporarily switching sims will work….The correct procedure is to buy a new sim kit (Bestbuy $1) and call tracfone to register that new sim to the new phone’s esn. It seems that the sim is “married” to the first phone it is assigned to, thus a new esn requires a new sim to avoid problems later on.The only question I have is why you would want to use TracPhone anyway? They are one of the worst value phone plans around, and are not the easiest company to deal with…they are known primarily for cheap “burner” phones with expensive talk plans. Port your number to a legitimate company like MetroPCS and get a couple free months of service or a free phone (depending on what promotion they have at the moment) and you will be much better off…

I just put my old SIM card in my new iPhone and it works fine, but AT&T is telling me that I need to use the new one that came with the new iPhone, why?

I believe that your IPhone 5 works well on 3 G networks and your new IPhone 6 works best on 4 G networks. So the old SIM card may work fine in the new phone but is unable to communicate or detect WiFi or to activate Bluetooth .Do you use these functions or services? WiFi is very useful to you when you need to access the internet. Some places provide free access to the internet, mainly in Malls, or food and beverage providers. The new SIM card that came with the new phone, has been configured, such that you will be able to utilize the full functions of your phone. Your phone number is attached to your new phone through the New SIM card. You can Google IPhone 6 for details of the phone. So, do worry about charges or the government spying on you, unless you are a Person of Interest, being seek by the CIA, FBI, NSA or the Homeland Security.Phone charges were agreed by yourself when you sign up or when you bought the IPhone 6.That being said, charges incurred by your usage of your IPhone for downloading of data or making Long Distance calls are chargeable by the Service provider or phone companies.Hope the above explanation has been useful to you.
