How Come Americans Didn

When did American Indians come from India?

Native Americans did not come from India. Columbus was trying to reach India and ended up in the "New World".
"The term Indians as applied to Native Americans, or the indigenous peoples of the Americas, is thought to have originated in a misconception on the part of the Europeans who arrived in Central America in 1492. Since Christopher Columbus began his journey to America with the intent of finding an alternate route to Southeast Asia, he is said to have assumed that the people he came into contact with upon reaching land were Indians. Despite the fact that people probably realized this mistake within hours, the name remained in use. Similarly, the islands in Central America came to be called the "West Indies", as opposed to the "East Indies" that Columbus originally had in mind as his destination."

Did the Vikings come to America?

Vikings did arrive in North America around the year 1000 from Norse colonies on Greenland and did attempt to colonize. Remains of a Viking settlement from this period were discovered in Newfoundland in the 1960s. According to the old Norse sagas these expeditions were led by Leif Erickson and later by a brother and sister and by Thorfinn Karlsevni and were thwarted over time by conflicts with the Natives (whom the Viking called "Skraelings"; the sagas also give detailed and accurate descriptions of American Indians, probably members of the extinct Beothuk nation). Norse artifacts have also regularly turned up among Eskimo and other Indian settlements in Canada and the U.S.

It is possible there were later Norse visitations and attempts at colonization but trade between the Greenland colonists and Norway and Iceland declined and finally ended about the 14th Century, probably largely owing to both the Black Plague in Europe and the cooling-off during the "Little Ice Age." The Greenlanders lacked the resources on their own to either mount further expeditions to North America or to survive the harsh climate changes in Greenland. Some may have intermingled with the Eskimos and adapted to their ways but the archaelogical evidence suggests that most of the Greenland Norse simply died from starvation and cold.

Why didn't early american Indians have beards?did they shave or?

"If you think about it for a minute, you know the answer to this question. You have probably seen many pictures of Native Americans with full mustaches. Many of the Navajo leaders of the Long Walk era had mustaches. Although many, if not most, Native American cultural groups preferred to remain clean shaven, the Dominguez-Escalante Expedition encountered a tribal subdivision of the Paiutes in Utah who wore full beards. There has been speculation that the existence of this group accounts for the rumors at the time of that expedition that there was a group of Spaniards who lived in that region because their first impression was that they were meeting Jesuit priests. "

"Indians do not have much facial hair. Hair which did appear was plucked out. A beard or mustache was not considered becoming. A pair of fresh water clam shells were pinched together to pull out the hair."

How come Arabs don't have any gangs in America and how come Hollywood doesn't portray Arabs as gangsters like African Americans?

Just like how there are Native American gangs, White gangs, African gangs, Asian gangs, Samoan gangs how come there are no such thing as an Arab gang. Why didn't Gangland or any Hollywood movie ever make a film on Arab gangbangers. Now I don't wanna hear that because Arabs are Muslims and in Islam violence is strictly prohibited when in their countries there are so many Al Qaeda/Taliban/ISIS stuff going on and suicide bombing which kills their own people. There are way too many Arabs in Europe and despite of their immigration in large numbers there is no such thing as an Arab gang. The gangs in Europe are either Black or White none of the gangbangers in Europe are Arab. Why don't Arabs have any gangbangers like the Crips/Bloods or any ghetto neighborhoods that is predominantly Arab. They have Asian gangs even though Asians are smart but how come there are no Arab gangs/ghetto neighborhoods in America. Don't these ugly big nosed terrorists know that getting robbed/shot in 711 is not gonna get them anywhere?

How come we as Americans still don't have a British accent?

Why should we? What’s a British accent? What part of Britain is it from?Let’s go back to basics on the Why’s of accents. Why do we speak the accent we do? It’s influenced primarily by two things: First, the setting we grew up in, the language we learned, the sound patterns of those around us in our family and neighborhood. Secondly, the social goal: Who do we aspire to sound like? Who do we want to distinguish ourselves from. Who are our friends? Who do we want to impress? In Britain, for most of a century, the speakers on the BBC have spoken the “RP” (received pronunciation), the best school-taught accent, and speaking the RP was a demonstration of one’s credentials. In the U.S., at one time, the speech of Walter Cronkite (who had grown up in Missouri and Texas) was recognized a standard. Ronald Reagan, from Illinois and California, also set a standard. But folks from Boston, or New York, or Chicago, or Alabama, are not ashamed to speak in something typical to their home neighborhoods. Speaking the way you grew conveys authenticity. LBJ had a very distinct Texas accent, Jimmy Carter, an accent from southern Georgia. It didn’t stand in the way of their advancement. Barack Obama has a deliberate accent which is distinctly but not extremely “Black.” Donald Trump is not ashamed to be from New York. The Prime Minister of Australia has no reason to speak with a British accent. Australians are proud to be Australians. And since the emigrants to Australia came mostly from the lower classes of British society, their accent reflects their affinity for their mates, as distinct from the “better” people they left behind.Where do the American accents come from. Various histories. Where did the early American colonists come from? Different regions in America were settled largely by individuals from different parts of the isles, for example, the hills of North Carolina were largely settled by Scots-Irish, from Ulster. The southern colonies and New England were settled by culturally different groups from different parts of England, and they brought their local dialects with them. Those have combined and shifted over time, as well as being influenced by the languages of early settlers from other countries (many Germans in the 18th and 19th centuries.) Meanwhile, whatever one would call a “British accent” has also changed over time, probably even the most proper “RP” (received pronunciation).

Is it true that Native Americans don't grow beards?

Most native people can’t grow much of a beard of mustache. But some can. In many cultures in the Americas people plucked the facial hair that they had. But not in some. Just as some in NE Asian or Central Asian can grow facial hair and some don’t as much. Native peoples are not directly related to modern Chinese or Japanese or Mongolian or Tibetans, but many of them don’t have much facial hair as well. But some do have some. It is a genetic thing. How come Mexico, Central America, and South America didn’t break away as one nation being that they all were ruled by Spain and have the same culture?

::How come Mexico, Central America, and South America didn’t break away as one nation being that they all were ruled by Spain and have the same culture?::Leaving the ‘same culture’ part aside for another answer, there were good reasons why the colonies didn’t formed a huge nation immediately after independence:Contrary to what could be expected by watching a map of Spanish America, the Spanish Empire actually was a naval one: it used its fleet to connect the disparate regions of its world-spanning colonial system. These regions were administered in four huge vice-royalties, each one subdivided in other geopolitical units: the enormity of these territories and the difficulties to connect the colonies overland meant that each division & sub-division enjoyed a lot of autonomy, in particular during the rule of the Spanish Hapsburgs (1555–1700). Much of the inter-colonial traffic was conducted via shipping lanes, again due to distance & geography. There were vast regions between colonies just nominally inside the control of the Spanish crown and its colonial administration: these regions were inhabited by the natives and for all practical purposes completely independent. Each colony developed its own idiosyncrasy during the colonial period, and the colonies fought their liberation wars independently from each other, reinforcing the sense of distinctiveness from each other.
