How Come I Get Fast Wifi On My Phone But Slow Wifi On Everything Else

Why is my internet fast in the morning and slow at noon and evening?

Time specific fluctuations in speed are usually because of the contention ratio of your ISP’s service.Rated bandwidth for ADSL is allocated not only according to the link speed, say 8 megabit or 24 megabit, but also how many other local users you share that connection with. Not all ADSL packages are equal, contention ratios are rarely declared. They can vary from 50:1 (eg 8mb shared with 50 other users) to 1500:1 (eg: 8mb shared with 1500 other users). When the network is busy, you will find that peak speed can drop considerably, and HTML page requests will even time out. I have seen the speed drop down to 0.2 kbps for an inferior 8mb connection with a high (undeclared) contention ratio. It is typically not the Internet backbone that is the bottleneck, although a tier 3 gateway can also be a pinch point and suffer from overload, or an ISP can be engaged in all sorts of potentially nefarious bandwidth throttling or traffic shaping activities, interfering with P2P traffic such as bittorrent. It should also be noted that services and data centers you are accessing will have performance that varies according to the server load, and some PHP based sites will become very slow or even throw up timeouts if there are a lot of users hitting the server.

Why is my internet really slow on my phone at my home's wifi only?

According to your Nexus 4 specs it is dual. This means it can use Wi-Fi on 2.4Ghz or 5.8GHz.Let’s start with the most common case: your current Router configuration. All Routers broadcast on 2.4 Ghz. US routers can broadcast in 11 frequencies (from 1 to 11) but most routers come by default configured on bands 1, 6 or 11. This means that if you have never configured a channel manually before you may have interference from a neighbor or other devices that use the same frequency.First step is to configure your router to use a frequency that is not overlapping with other devices or routers nearby. To do this simply download the WiFi analyzer app on your smartphone: Wifi Analyzer - Android Apps on Google PlayIn this examplYou will see something similar to this. You will be able see your router and your neighbors’ on a graph. In the example above: if your router is the red one (home) you shouldn't have Wi-Fi issues (because you have a good signal strenght and also your broadcasting channel which is 11 doesn't overlap with the other routers). In case you see something different in your case: this means if your router is overlapping with others’ (you see another router above or below the same arch of your router) find your routers’ configuration webpage: How do I access my router configuration page?Once you are inside the configuration page select the frequency you find is “away from the crowd” of other Routers and click save (you will see something like this below depending on your router model):After clicking save there should be an option to reset the router for the changes to take effect and this should be all for most of the problems!.Two additional things:Your laptop performance might be different because each type of electronic device has different types of antennas and also because of the location of each one of them.As Hotspot shield is a VPN software I’m not quite sure how this could make any difference unless your environment has other additional challenges not analyzed here.Hope this information helps you. Cheers!

Why is my friend's WiFi very slow and everyone else's is fine?

He brings his computer to my house and he uses a 5Ghz USB WiFi adapter and I use 2.4Ghz. Mine is fine but his is always slow. It starts off fast and gets very slow. He has the same router in his house and the same ISP and my adapter works fine at his house. The only difference is that in my house there are other devices that use 5Ghz like an Apple TV and in iPad. What could be the problem?

My At&t wifi internet is extremely slow?

Extremely large files are a pain to download [nothing more to say about that!]
=
You did not specify your broadband speed, NOR if others are using the Internet [wired/wi-fi] at the same time.
-
Ensure ONLY necessary services are running on your computer.
- Malware scanners [Anti-virus, spyware, malware] can slow download drastically.
-
IF you have not tried downloading wired [Ethernet], DO it.
- DISABLE wi-fi.
- Wi-Fi is always interfering or being interfered.
- Do Not do anything else on your computer [just download] if this is so important.

Why is my COMCAST wifi connection so slow?

Let me guess. You're playing it over a wireless home network. Getting 450 WHAT?
EDIT: There is NOT a provider in the States that serves up residential internet at 450mbps to begin with!!! You might have 450mbps home network speed but you do NOT have that kind of speed from Comcast. Go here and run a speed test and post the results.
http://speedtest.net/
Edit: I hate to burst your bubble forest but comcast does NOT provide 450mbps service ANYWHERE! Stop looking at your home network speed and run the damn speed test!

Edit: First off, you are no doubt gaming over a wireless home network! Given the fact it is most likely wireless "G" on top of that and god knows how far from the router you are, you could EASILY be losing half of that bandwidth due to packet loss on your home wireless connection. Get closer to your router or get wired.
