How Come Kevin Durant Gets So Many Ft

How tall is Kevin Durant?

He is listed a 6'10 , but ppl argue if he's 7 feet cause that ***** makes melo look like a squirt.

How tall was Kevin durant at age 15?

"After playing two years of high school basketball at National Christian Academy and one year at Oak Hill Academy, Durant transferred to Montrose Christian School for his senior year, growing five inches before the start of the season and beginning the year with a height of six feet, seven inches."

he is a late bloomer though

How tall is Kevin Durant?

The Thunder list Durant at 6'9" however a lot of NBA commentators say he's pushing 7'0" - probably like 6'11" - as far as I can tell he's one of the very few (if not the only) NBA player to misrepresent his height to be shorter...Also according to Draft Express he has a 7'4" wingspan.| Oklahoma City Thunder Kevin Durant, Stats, Comparisons, and Outlook

Carmelo Anthony vs. Kevin Durant?

Durant will have to have a better rookie season simply because he has to - there is less talent surrounding him. Anthony came into a team with Andre Miller, Kenyon Martin, and Marcus Camby. Durant has nowhere near that level of talent or experience around him. Regardless, pure athleticism and a great skill set should have him averaging 20+ ppg and 5 or more rpg.

Who is better Dirk Nowitzki or Kevin Durant?

Dirk Nowitzki.

He's a proven playoff performer. Sure, Durant racks up more points during the regular season by shot jacking at an inefficient rate, but come playoffs it is a different story. Durant last year only shot 35% with 3.7 turnovers while Dirk has been the best playoff performer for his career. Dirk is one of 4 players in NBA history to average 25ppg, and 10rpg for his playoff career along with Hakeem, Petit, and Shaq.

*Dirk career elimination games: 28.4ppg, 12.2rpg, 49%fg, 39%3pt.
* According to Elias Sports Bureau, in the ENTIRE history of the NBA, in elimination-games, Dirk Nowitzki has 13 30+ point performances. Only Wilt the Stilt, tied at 13, and Jerry West at 14, have achieved similar results!
* Dirk career game 7’s
Dirk game 7 vs Kings: 31 pts and 19 rebounds (shot higher than 50%)
Dirk game 7 vs Blazers: 31 pts and 11 rebounds (same)
Dirk game 7 vs Rockets: 14pts and 14 rebs (But his team won in blow out fashion) (5-14)
Dirk game 7 vs Spurs: 37 points and 15 rebounds with the clutch three point play. (above 50%)

So Dirk is there when it matters most. Dirk contributes more on the defensive end, and Dirk can score on the inside and outside, where as Durant only does it from the outside and is too skinny to do it from the inside. Durant has averaged more turnovers than assists for his career which is horrible for a guard, while Dirk is the most efficient player of this decade only turning the ball over on 8% of all the possessions he ever had which is less than anyone this decade. Dirk shoots around 50%fg, 40%3pt, and 90%ft every year and this year he is shooting 55%fg, 40%3pt, and 88%ft. He's just more produictive than Durant, a better defender, better passer, more efficient, can score from more areas, and will show up more often when you need him the most. Durant is overrated and Nowitzki is severely underrated.

Why is Kevin Durant so unstoppable in offense?

Pure shooting talent- KD swishes contested mid-range and 3-point jump-shots easily because of his unteachable shooting quality + efficiency.Great ball-handling- Durant’s ball-handling skills are elite for a SF. Only LeBron can match him.Incredible height and length- “The Durantula” is 7 feet tall which allows him to take no notice of guys contesting his shots. With his incredibly long stride, KD can score easily at the rim.Athleticism- He might not be more athletic than “King James” however with his quickness and high vertical, Durant can throw down those vicious slams.Clutch play- you can’t be a great scorer if you don’t perform in the clutch and Durant is one of the most clutch players ever which is why he is recognised as an unstoppable force on offense.

Why doesn't Kevin Durant play center?

Small forward is a more valuable position. Look at the contracts big men have been getting this past offseason - Nerlens Noel remains unsigned, Dwayne Dedmon got less than expected. The forwards cashing in are guys like Gordon Hayward, Blake Griffin, Danilo Gallinari, and of course Durant himself - elite playmakers. Sharpshooting guards and playmaking forwards are all the rage in the NBA, both on the court and signing the big contracts off it. It would be a relative waste of Durant’s prodigious talents putting him at center.Additionally, while Durant at 6′9″ (more like 6′11″) and 240 pounds can no longer be considered small, he still prefers to win with finesse rather than brute force. I can’t blame a guy for not wanting to spend all his time on the court jostling for position with 270lb behemoths. If you haven’t, try holding your ground while a bigger guy tries to back you down. Even if you are successful, it won’t be the most pleasant experience of your life. Small wonder Durant prefers to play more on the perimeter.

Better scorer, Kevin Durant or Carmelo Anthony?

Durant is the better scorer. He is a better mid range shooter, 3 point shooter, better finisher in the paint and FT shooter. Only think Carmelo has over KD is a posting up smaller players and even there KD is catching him. Melo is a great scorer but no one is on KD's level in terms of volume scoring with ultra high efficiency except Lebron.

Does Kevin Durant's defense get overlooked?

I’ve watched videos of the guy on defense. He does have exceptional reach, but he can be slow to react. If he learns to use his body better than he really could be dangerous. Klay Thompson is better for sure due to his re-activeness and quick moving feet on defense. There is a difference between people who use their hands for defense and people who use their feet; those who use their feet are better. The main goal of defense is to keep the guy in front of you and to obstruct his view, either of the net or his other teammates. KD has reach, but that does no good if someone like Kyrie can blow by you. If KD stepped back a bit more, he could react better to drives and still have enough time to close in on a shooter.Kawhi Leonard “The Claw” is a great example. He has these huge hands and good reach, but he’s also quick (just realized this now, but when I say he’s quick, I’m not saying he’s the fastest out there. I’m saying he’s quick on his feet). Here’s another thing about people like KD, Kyrie and let’s use Steve Nash. Their role is more of an offensive one. If they use all their energy on defense, they’ll tire themselves out and not perform as well when they play offensively. If you’re a beast like Westbrooke, then it does not matter, but a lot of players don’t have balances skills in both categories out of necessity. It’s a team sport. If someone runs past KD, then he needs his team to help him out.Think of Curry, he’s no good at defense, but he can be seen as a wizard from beyond the arc. I’m not making excuses for these players, though. Defense wins playoffs. After 7 games, you can see how much the “3” game really matters. If all the players are solid at defense, more opportunities are available. Conclusion: KD is about average at defense, but it’s in part because he’s often relied on heavily for his offense. He’s not being overlooked. He just isn’t very good on defense. Not to say he’s bad. With him being with the GSW, we’ll see how much his game play will shift.
