How Come My Body Heals So Quickly

Why do I heal so quickly?

All my life any injuries, cuts, sprains, fractures and even broken bones I have had have healed very, very quickly. I've had a broken finger which healed in two days (it was a little stiff for a couple days more, then fine), broken leg which healed in a week, cuts which vanish in a day, or sometimes even less.

About six months ago, I was stabbed in the chest while at work (I was working part-time as a bouncer at the time). My vest didn't protect me like it should have, something to do with weak fibres, and the knife entered my chest about 2 inches. Five days later, all I had was a scar.

I've asked my doctor twice about this, who I've been with all my life, and he just jokingly said "you're a freak of nature" and "you're an anomaly of medical science". But his joking aside, there must be a simple explanation.

However, with things such as colds, flu, coughs, etc. I don't recover any faster than usual.

Also, my father is the same, too, to a slightly lesser degree.

My body heals quickly why is it healing so fast?

Me too… I poked myself with a sim ejection tool on my middle finger… that went in deep and blood started gushing out. I ran it under cold water and put hydrogen peroxide and pressed it with a bandage tightly. After about an hour the wound is completely gone… is this normal.

Why did my tattoo fade so quickly?

I got a tattoo about 2 weeks ago, and it looked great when I got it! I'm taking care of my tattoo exactly as my tattoo artist told me.... wash it 3-4 times a day with antimicrobial soap until it heals, and apply H2Ocean Tattoo Moisturizer. Do not expose to sunlight or go in pools, jacuzzis, etc.It scabbed off completely fine, and I continued to wash it 1-2 times a day and apply the moisturizer. I think I did a pretty good job of keeping it away from sunlight, although a few times I did get caught off guard and my tattoo was exposed for a couple minutes. I don't understand what went wrong? I mean the colors are good, but some of the black lines of the tattoo have started to fade. I mean, I was expecting it to be a little less defined, but this already needs a touch-up! Is this normal, is this part of the healing process? Why is my tattoo starting to fade so quickly?

How come my mouth interior heals so quickly?

The reason why cuts inside the mouth/on the tongue heal so quickly is because of saliva. It's also the same reason why most people, upon cutting their finger, will instinctively put their finger in their mouth and suck. It's not because blood is tasty; it's because your mouth is a warm, slick haven of antibacterial enzymes and compounds. Even animals do it!You can read about this stuff on Wikipedia too: Wound licking

Our diet wasn’t always so sanitised. As more primitive primates we would have to eaten plenty of scratchy foods with dirt on them. One of the most interesting facts in zoology across all living organisms is that healing, repair, regeneration function is best in tissues closer to the brain and is slower further from the brain. Healing in the feet is notoriously slow, however, half of the sutures in the neck following thyroidectomy can be removed the night after the surgery! The mucosa of the mouth and upper esophagus completely replaces itself every 5 days. The lining of the colon—every 7–8 days.

Why do lip piercings close up so quickly?

It's because the inside of your mouth is made up of mucous membrane, rather than skin - it's like skin but without the top protective layer, it swells when there is an injury which prevents the jewellery going back in, it also tends to heal faster than skin. Same can happen with nose piercings.

When I first had my labret piercing it came out during the night, it was only out a couple of hours, and it took some serious effort and pain to get it back in. When my nose was done too I was religious about keeping the stud in (despite several nose bleeds from leaving the wrong stud in overnight) as so many friends had theirs close up from leaving the stud out for just a few hours. It's been years since I've had these done and I can leave the studs out for weeks or even months without them closing up.

People take them out too early, before 6 weeks, sometimes after that they can close up if there has been damage done or if they've been left out over a very long period of time - but then that can happen with lobe piercings too if left long enough, basically though, the longer it's been healed the longer it takes to close. You also have a problem that not all piercers do it correctly - the problem with so few laws - so the wrong size needle or jewellery is used that effects healing.

How does a cut inside my mouth heal so quickly and not get infected, when a cut anywhere else seems to take so much longer?

Cells inside the mouth grow alot quicker than anywhere else in the body. There is a lot going on in the mouth and there is tons of bacteria produced in there so there is a bit of a war going on between bacteria and your skin cells and its quite important to eat and drink so you have to keep the mouth healthy by reproducing cells that are damaged from acids bacteria and even sharp bits of food that may penetrate into the skin inside the mouth. So cells grow much faster because its a bit of a harsh environment at times so it needs to keep healthy by reproducing quicker
