How Did The Council Of Scholars Brain Wash The People In The Book Anthem

How do you feel about your neighboring countries? What do you think about their people, customs, government, and society?

I’m from Indonesia. And these are Indonesia’s neighbours :MalaysiaDefinitely our closest neighbour, culturally and geographically. Though we have small tensions regarding cultural claiming. I used to be one those ultra-nationalistic Indonesians who likes to shout something like “Ganyang Malingsia! (Crush Malingsia!)” across Social Media, but I’ve become calmer as I grew older, so I’m somewhat more quiet now. After being active on Quora for almost a year, I’ve decided to completely stop using derogatory terms for Malaysia. How do I feel about Malaysia? I went there six years ago. More developed than Indonesia, and a medley of Malays, Chinese, and Indians on the street. It was the first time I actually heard someone speaking Malay, not from a TV show (“Upin & Ipin” — Malaysian cartoon). Somewhat rejoicing you know.P.S. : In case you didn’t know what “Malingsia” is, it’s a mixture of both “Malaysia” and “Maling”. The word Maling means Thief in Indonesian. The reason behind the term is that, some Indonesians accused Malaysia for claiming Indonesian cultures.SingaporeShopping paradise for Indonesians! I’m somewhat jealous with people of Batam. They could just ride a 45–70 minutes of ferry ride to Singapore. And of course, it’s a strict country where the citizens are largely law-abiding. You can’t even drink any sort of beverage on the MRT.BruneiSultanate, Oil-rich, and Islamic. Nothing more.PhilippinesOur Catholic brother. We share some similar words like Selamat Pagi (Good Morning in Indonesian) and Salamat Pagi (Thank you, stingray in Filipino).Timor-LesteSmall impoverished state.Papua New GuineaVery remote, and still covered with mostly forest. Fascinating diversity (ethnically and linguistically). I mean, can you imagine more than thousands of ethnic groups and 850 languages exist within one country?AustraliaOur only Western neighbour, and a heaven for exotic animals. The land where immigrants from different parts of the world gather. Pseudo-US.

Is President Obama guilty of treason?

Don’t believe everything you read…The Republicans spent years investigating Hillary and never found anything that she did that was a crime. Now they are starting on President Obama, probably one of the most honest people that has ever been president.Believe This…There is nothing that the Republicans won’t distort use innuendo or outright lie about. They will do anything no matter how evil if they think it will enhance their position. The will kidnap kids from their parents and keep them in pens, they will accuse people of crimes that they know they are innocent of, the will cover for anything up to and including treason if it’s one of their own.And they will accept a career con artist who is a mentally ill, maniacal egotist with absolutely no morals or a trace of compassion as their leader. At the same time, they are ready to take health care coverage away from millions of people in order to give a tax break to the wealthiest members of our society. When they controlled the House they covered up all the evil things that Trump was doing and now they are doing their best to make sure that we never find out about it by blocking the Mueller investigation report from the public. The United States is going down the tube and it’s because of them.So don’t believe everything that you have read, (including me) do your research and see the truth for your self.If it was up to the Republicans there would still be people who have worked their entire life living in poverty with no Social Security, no health care and no food. They are doing everything they can to get back to those days.

Why is Berkeley, CA so liberal?

It’s not just Berkeley — the entire Bay Area is liberal. Here’s why.San Francisco has some of the most prestigious universities in the nation, not just UC Berkeley but most notably Stanford (Number 2 in the world) -- where computers and modern electronics were invented. Some of the nation's great companies that Stanford helped created include Cisco Systems, Ebay, Hewlett-Packard, Netflix, Sun, Tesla, Yahoo, and many more. Stanford is the very foundation of Silicon Valley, which grew up around it. The first Google server was created by Sergey Brin and Larry Page when they were graduate students at Stanford's school of engineering in the 1990s.Wherever you find great educational institutions, you will find an eagerness for research and development and and for learning new things, an open-mindedness, and a fertile ground for economic growth. California as a whole, in fact, boasts 6 of the world's top 25 universities. The other famous university is UC Berkeley, a famously tough institution -- and famously liberal -- hard to get into. For inquiring minds only. My brother-in-law got his engineering degree from there.Another hot-spot in the nation for "liberalism" -- whatever that term is supposed to mean -- is Massachusetts, where again, all the world famous Ivy League colleges are located -- MIT, Harvard, Yale, etc. I guess liberals are always looking for something better. One might even conclude that a hunger for knowledge and learning is what makes people liberal. But getting back to San Francisco being famous for R&D, open-mindedness in a culture is not necessarily confined to electronics or medicine, but can extend to spiritualism and philosophy as well, as demonstrated by another famous Bay Area institution, the Esalen Institute. Founded in 1962 by Richard Price (another Stanford graduate) and Michael Murphy, Esalen is the birthplace of the human potential movement. Some of Esalen's most famous scholars have included leading counterculture figures including Aldous Huxley, Alan Watts, Ansel Adams, Buckminster Fuller, Timothy Leary, Linus Pauling, BF Skinner, Joseph Campbell, Stanislav Grof and Arnold Toynbee.
