My mom is going to shave my head?
I decided i wouldnt mind my hair to my chin so i said how about if we cut my hair to my chin and she said no that wont be enough i said yes it will and she said what is so bad about being bald and i said a long list and then i said if u dont think its so bad u shave ur head and she said NO IM NOT SHAVING MY HEAD Y SHOULD I DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????? I said why should i do it and she said for the poor little girl. She will not reason with me so tomorrow i HAVE to do it. I didnt understand then i found out from my grandma my mom got a really bad case of lice at my age and the shampoo didnt work so she had 2 have her head shaved and it caused her lots of trauma. But if she knows what it would be like y would she make me do it. Thanks 2 everyone who answered i really appreciate that every answer is thoughtful and there arent any mean remarks. I know this question is long but i need help. I have no brothers or sisters and my dad is snowboarding and doesnt get reception.

Ok so my older sister has had cancer for over a year now. She had chemo a little while ago and 1 week later all her hair fell out. She cried for days. (she is 15 i am 13 and a girl) I bought her a wig that matched her hair perfectly and one that was different. 2 weeks ago: she asked my mom to shave her head too, so she wouldnt feel different. My mom did. Then she asked me to do it too! Im in middle school not stuck in the hospital with other kids who WONT make fun of her. I am gonna cry becuz everyone will laugh!! I said " no im sorry sis i just cant do it" She accepted that, and my mom just shook her head like im selfish. So yesterday my mom asked if i wanted a trim i said well... my mom said just a trim to keep it healthy, so we went to the haircut place and my mom said what we wanted first, i couldnt hear though. The hair cut got a razor and hair removel. I said whats that for? He said for u. I said i dont wanna be bald!! Ur mom says u do. My mom came over and held me down while the guy shaved my head and put hair removel on it!!! I started crying. When we got home my sister said OMG u did it anyways!!!! U cant wear a wig though my mom said. I said what!!!!!????? Anyways i start school next week!!!!!!!! What do i do please help!!!!!!!!??? p.s dad is dead no brother and no more sisters

Your age is really a factor.Unless you are so young that you can’t go to the store by yourself, just go get a razor or shaver, and shave. I never asked my parents for permission to do any personal grooming when I was a kid.If you are that young, and you really have enough hair that it needs to be shaved, show it to your parents, and ask them to get you a shaver.Unless it is against your culture or religion, I don’t really see a problem.

There are factors you need to consider here some more valid to some than other. First if you are a religious family it could possibly be that your mom agrees the the christian (and some other religions) that a woman's hair is her glory (before I see any angry retorts on that one I personally see that as bull crap but it doesn't matter what I think here). Your mom may just believe that she is preventing you from making a mistake. Speaking as a parent I know that it is very hard for us to sit back and allow our kids the freedom to make their own mistakes. Don't forget that it wasn't very long ago, for us, that we had you depending on us to be your safety net from the world. If you fell (metaphorically speaking) we were always there to catch you and it is really REALLY hard to stand back and just let you fall so you can learn how to pick yourselves up. How about instead of telling her that you want to shave your head, tell her that you want to donate your hair for a kids for cancer drive (and then do), or for raising money for the same charity. If that does not work, and explaining that you want the opportunity to make your own mistakes, especially when it wont hurt anyone else but yourself then be upfront with her. Tell her that this is what you plan to do and you want to know what your punishment is going to be. She may be willing to reach a compromise (try it when your family is away on vacation and see how it goes -- especially when your grandmother wont be around for example) or she may be adement enought that she spells out a punishment that is serious enough that you are not willing to pay that price, Or she tells you what will happen and when you weigh the consequences and then decide that if it is worth it go ahead and shave you head and then take the punishment with good grace.

I would say you need to talk with her about it. Don't just do it. Once you shave, the hair comes back darker and thicker and besides that, a razor cut is very painful. Razor cuts leave scars.My stepdaughter is 11. The hair on her legs is blonde but her little armpits have black hair.
