How Do I Change The Location To The Correct Location

How do I change my computer's gps location.?

Your computer won't be routinely handing out a GPS location to websites unless you have specifically configured it to do so, or permit it to do so every time it asks you.

When websites know where you are, it's usually because the IP address for your Internet connection has found its way into one or more IP address geolocation databases. There is very little you can do about this, because it all happens on computer systems that are outside of your control, using information that has already been made public one way or another.

How do i change my current location as it is incorrect?

To change your account's time zone and country:

1. Using a desktop or laptop computer, sign in to Yahoo and click "Hi, {your name}" at the top of the page
2. Select "Account Info" from the menu
3. On your Account Information page, under "Account Settings," click "Set language and time zone"
4. Select your preferred Time Zone from the pull down menu. When your done click Save.
5. Under "Account Settings" select "View/Update your saved locations"

My current location is incorrect. How can I change it?

Please note, this issue is not with the "Default Location" nor is it with being able to change Time Zone, Language, Location, etc. I have checked all of these. What I need to change is the "Current Location" which is set for Amsterdam, NL and not Honeoye, NY. So, as a result, my Yahoo homepage and all advertisements are in Dutch. I can easily change "Default Location" but that does not stop the homepage from loading in Dutch. There is no way I am able to change "Current Location" and that is the problem here. I've had my ISP check all the connections, their server, and my IP address and everything is working okay and they have no idea on how my "Current Location" could be Amsterdam. I have repeatedly tried Yahoo support and they are no help at all.

In the comment you say that the question refers to the Google Maps App on a phone of some sort (as opposed to Google Maps for Web). The GM app takes its location from the phone’s GPS receiver, but only if you’ve given it permission and only if the phone is able to receive a signal from the GPS satellites. (The phone’s SIM is not involved in determining location.)So the most common reasons why the app can’t get your location are:The GPS signal is being blocked by a building that you’re inside, or tall buildings which are reducing the number of satellites in line of sight, or possibly by other electromagnetic interference close to you.You have reset your settings and the app does not have access to location services.

My 'current location' is wrong. how do i change it?

Like EYE TEAR DROPS when you open News ands Choose local News there will be a TEAR DROP at the Top of the LOCAL NEWS that you can Tack On and a Location Manager will open and you can either Go to the location manager or you can enter in your current location.
Most always Your Internet provider sets your Location. its called ISP Location. If your Version of Yahoo is not up to PAR as mine is if you go to Your Weather Page and Tack on the Location like your going to enter a City or Zip code you have a Drop Down Window That you can Go to your location manager page from Enter Two or three ester location and then when your on a page you want your chosen location all you have to do it tack on the location from the drop down Location organizer options!
When i use the yahoo Maps and enter a City and State That entry is saved in my Location manager and it stays there until i go to my location manager and delete that location. It all Works the same on The MY YAHOO Page .

My current location in Yahoo is incorrect. How do I get it fixed?

Yahoo is bad getting even worse. Every search I do (retailers/wholesalers/MapQuest, etc shows my location as Mt Laurel, NJ. I'm located in north GA, and have been for 11 yrs. I've never ever been to Mt. Laurel,. NJ!

But, I did some research the other day re: mountain laurel plants. . .hmmm. tracking software run amuck, perhaps. . .

Yahoo's IT idiots seem to make changes to justify continued employment and/or to generate more income for Yahoo. I'm fed up w/ Yahoo, and hope that those who are also will bail on their Yahoo emails to somewhere else. I am, for sure.

Answering two questions that were merged: Why does Google Maps sometimes show a totally wrong location? It shows a location at city A while the actual position is in city B. and Why is Google Maps not showing my correct location? These might be two different questions if the wrong location for the first question resulted from an address or place name search. In this case, I would say that you may have searched for something that exists in several cities, such as a common U.S. address like “106 Broadway” or something like “The Mint Bar”. In this case, Google’s autocomplete will try to send you to the first matching result it finds and you have to look at the list of matches to make sure the result you are selecting is in the correct town. For the second question, Google Maps might not be showing you your correct location for several reasons:It might not be able to determine you current location, so it shows the location it thinks is your home or your last known location instead. If your device is not a phone or a device with GPS, it might have guessed your location based on the registered address of the company that is providing your internet IP address. This might be a long way from where you are, especially if your internet provider is a large national or multi-national firm. You might be expecting too much precision. If Google Maps is showing you on the North side of the street but you are really on the South side of the street, you should realize that finding your position with GPS or triangulation of cell tower or Wi-Fi locations has limited accuracy. It often can’t tell which side of the street you are on. If the only thing your phone knows about your position is that you are about 5 miles from the only cell tower it has a signal from, it might put your location on the cell tower.
