How Do I Control My Strong Urge To Snack

How do i control my strong urge to snack?

Stop being anorexic, it's not healthy, you'll have less energy to exercise, your body will try to hold on to fat because it's starving making it harder to loose fat. It's setting a bad example for the kids.

Gain muscle weight.
Being muscular is healthier, makes you stronger, feel better and more confident, and looks better.

Being underweight is less attractive than being fat. Fat is like a nice soft pillow or bed, almost everyone likes pillows and beds. Underweight people's bones are like knives, no one likes being stabbed with knives (what it feels like if an underweight persons sits on your lap).
Almost everyone would rather hug a pillow than a skeleton.
The butt bones are suppose to have a pillow that is naturally provided by muscle and a little fat to sit on, otherwise it is going to hurt because your bare bones are sitting on a hard chair. Those with boney butts who sit on hard chairs a lot can develop bruises from it.
It's better to have a big butt, it's much more comfortable to sit on things it's a natural pillow for your butt bones.
They sell butt pads, padded underwear, padded pants and seat cushions to use on chairs that already have cushions, for people with boney butts so their butts don't hurt. Instead of buying butt pads, cushions... grow natural butt cushions (butt muscle).
Don't try to impress anyone, try to be healthy, strong, and able to run away and fight to defend yourself. Don't care about your looks.
If you were trying to impress, being thin isn't impressive, This is what most males and people prefer:

How can I control my constant urge to eat?

It is possible you could have some disease process occurring or you may be taking a medication that is causing this constant hunger, but it is more likely something else. When we eat carbohydrates (sugars and starches) our bodies produce the hormone insulin. When we eat a LOT of carbs, we over-produce insulin, and shortly afterwards we feel extreme hunger, even if we have just eaten many, many calories. When we eat proteins and fats, we do NOT over-produce insulin and the extreme feeling of hunger does not result. I suggest you search “low carb diet” to learn more and if you find a carbohydrate counter online, it will give you the amount of carbs in most common foods. In general, meats, eggs, cheeses, and green vegetables, along with certain nuts and a few fruits will contain the lowest carbohydrate count. Stick with these foods and your “uncontrollable hunger” should resolve. If it does not, see a professional.

How do I control my urge to overeat?

The urge to over eat probably comes from extreme stress you are going through, and out of desperation, your brain decides to help you feel better by eating. Food in of itself is rewarding to consume, that’s natural. At some point, you were probably in distress, and your brain learned that it could use the dopamine reward response from food as a way to comfort you. You can look up “dopamine reward response” if you want to learn the details about this, but in a nutshell, normally rewarding things create a normal rewarding feeling in you, for example feeling delighted that you found a parking spot easily or eating a delicious meal, and your brain makes the association “oh, this experience made me feel good”.In times of distress, a person’s brain can feel very desperate to find relief from the mental anguish, and so the brain seeks escape and comfort from the things it recognizes as rewarding. In a way, this is an adaptive response, because it helps the person cope and regain balance in the midst of mental stress. The problem comes when the brain over relies on this, if the brain keeps seeking immediate comfort in the midst of distress, it will slowly lose the ability to tolerate distress. This also creates a deeply ingrained response, like a person creating a path in grass by walking through it repeatedly, the more you walk that same path, the more the grass is killed off and a dirt path is formed, the brain can form a deeply ingrained automatic response. The craving to eat for comfort can be as strong as actual hunger and thirst. It is not clear how and why a person’s brain may choose food as the go-to comforting/rewarding item to turn to, as opposed to other rewarding substances or activities. Research does show that extraordinarily rewarding substances and experiences-such as cocaine or winning a big jackpot at a slot machine-create a much bigger dopamine rush, and understandably these things are more likely to create an addictive response in a shorter amount of time. The interesting thing is, not all gamblers who win big turn into gambling addicts, not all people who tried cocaine turn into cocaine addicts, so we know there must be other factors that lead to some people becoming addicted.I am not saying you are a food addict, but this struggle to control the urge to over eat can be the beginning stages of a food addiction; I hope this is not the case.

How do i fight the urge to eat meat?

watch this please: http://adaptt.org/life-changing-speech.html all the way through. Even if it's not your style, you might find a different way of looking at food. Look into vegan cooking. Almost everything you can think of can be made vegan, and as long as you're eating enough you should feel fine. http://www.drmcdougall.com/health/education/videos/free-electures/the-starch-solution/ this site is incredibly informative and even motivating. If you go through and watch the lectures as well as reading through the forums and newsletters etc there's a lot you can learn including the issue of hunger.

then there are vids and sites like these to help you stay motivated: http://nutritionfacts.org/video/uprooting-the-leading-causes-of-death/
http://nutritionfacts.org/video/more-than-an-apple-a-day-preventing-our-most-common-diseases/

then there's this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19eBAfUFK3E you might look at vegans as being extreme, or choosing not to buy into something that's not very evil or cruel, but the truth is a little different. Very often the suffering wrought by meat, eggs and dairy is extreme. A small change not only benefits us, but makes massive change for other beings.

then there's the environmental aspect of food production.

Tips to stop snacking and binge eating at night?

I am very healthy during the day, and up to dinner time. There I have healthy and successful day to contribute to my diet, where I am eating 1200 calories a day. I exercise every day as well.
When it hits around 8pm, I get this uncontrollable urge to eat and it's upsetting.
I'm thinking of trying to get up earlier in the morning so that I want to go to sleep earlier. I don't have any unhealthy snack foods in my place anymore, but it's so bad that I even ate loads of buttered bread last night after dinner.
What are some really strong thoughts I can distract myself with?
Or any other tactics.
Thanks so much for your help.

How do I resist the urge to over eat?

To do that, we need to look at why do you even overeat.Firstly, no normal human being would overeat. They will stop when they are sated, and, well, stop eating.Secondly, I have no idea about what you mean “overeat”. Like, are you on a diet, or are you literally stuffing yourself until you feel like you burst? If it’s the former, well, I don’t trust quantitative diets. They don’t work, as you’ll get back to fat faster than you think. Just eat better quality, healthier foods. If it’s the latter, you’re kind of screwed. You probably have some sort of mental illness, like depression, PTSD, or something. In that case, it’s best for you to see a psychologist, as they can give you much better advice. Do not be afraid in doing so; short-term pain, long-term gain!(my manners were a little rusty, as I wrote this in the dead of night)

How do you stop the urge to eat unhealthy foods and instead get healthier foods?

Hey .How to stop eating unhealthy fast foods ..?Well , we eat fast foods particularly when there is not much time in hand unless you love fast food too much ..So , I would say make some time for your meal in your busy schedule .. no matter how tight it is .. coz well food is food - it's our driving source .. about eating healthy . Then you really have to understand the importance of different organs in your body not just the essential ones like eye and heart .. A healthy meal will improve the efficiency of their working conditions. Also , skipping meal is surely a path for gastric problems in future .. if we don't understand this now then be prepared to have multiple tablets supplementing your meal . And that's not cool .Eat all the junk you want once in a while . Try to have veggies and fruits in some manner so that you get the desired nutrient in your body .. I know many of us hate the taste of some fruits , well then have the ones you like in good amount . Fast food will only help your stomach now but will hurt it later just like any bad friend .If you feel breakfast is too much .. you have to live with it . Have a little and drink a lot of fresh juices instead ..One more thing you can only change when you make up your mind . So that should be your first step..:)
