What controller configuration (button mapping, etc.) do you use for Super Smash Bros Ultimate and why?

I have used standard GameCube settings for a long time since Melee and only recently changed my layout:Standard Button Layout
Rumble: Off
Tap Jump: Off
C-Stick: Tilts
Sensitivity: High
This is a layout I have been muking around with for a few weeks and took it to locals to see how I would do with it. So far I'm liking the changes. See I changed my layout because I struggle sometimes input Tilts (namely Side and Up Tilt) on command. I found myself never using C-Stick for Smashes except for Down Smash punishes so this change has been extremely helpful.Tap Jump Off works wonders as now you can't accidentally use all your jumps when recovering or when juggling opponents and it didn't take long to adjust to this change.I never play with Rumble because it just distracts me during the match and feels weird. Never liked rumble no matter what game it is and normally turn it off.That's my layout. Might change a few things around but I like the adjustments I have made.

What should I do if I suck at Super Smash Bros for Wii U?

In all honesty, the only reason I chose Robin as my character, was only because I liked fire emblem awakening. The obvious characters for strength  are captain falcon, big mac and Shulk. I recommend meta knight or luigi or robin for jumping. Dark pit is a bit of an all rounder, but not as fast as you want. In conclusion choose your character based on whether you want him or her to be strong, fast or good at jumping.If its a problem with attacking just press A repeatedly. My evil best friend challenged me to play this game and didn't teach me how to play it, and so I just kept pressing A and although I sustained much damage I was left alive in the end. Use the block when the opponent gets too close and use your special attack when they aren't noticing.And to make things simpler, create your own custom stage, you can make yourself hideouts, and traps for your enemies that only you know about since u designed it. And if you do choose big Mac, change your outfit to completely green and choose a stage with green areas and you can camouflage urself and ambush your opponents.

If I were to buy a Japanese hard copy of Super Smash Bros Ultimate would I be able to change the language to English on my US Nintendo Switch?

In Super Smash Bros 3DS, you keep your last picked color for your character as your default. Wii U didn’t do this, the default color is always the normal one. Does super smash bros Ultimate do this or not?

I do not know for sure, this is entirely speculation.The reason 3ds had saved character palettes is because the 3ds is a personal portable device, and local multiplayer isn’t a thing without another system. They can save the colors there because no one else will really need to access the device.The Wii U doesn’t do this because it’s a home console, with multiplayer focused locally on one system. Saving character palettes on an assumedly family console is completely unneeded.Because the Switch is officially a home console (technically), it probably won’t save any alternate color choices.
