How Do I Deal With Social Anxiety Working At A Fast Food Resturant Panicking Help

How do i deal with social anxiety working at a fast food resturant panicking please help?

I am very shy and timid. I need a job though to pay bills, so I'm going to work at a McDonald's near me. I will be a cashier and have to interact with all kinds of people daily. How do I deal? I'm panicking please help.

Horrible anxiety and panic attacks HELP!!!?

It sounds like you have a very understanding and supportive family, you should be very thankful for that. I've been dealing with anxiety for the last 5-6 years, mine didn't start until college and is not as sever as yours but I do sympathize with being anxious in the car and in class.

Have you tried finding a therapist that will talk to you on the phone? Or make house calls? I met with a counselor for about a month or two and it helped me a lot.

Life does get better, you just have to know when to push yourself (try working on short car rides to somewhere fun) and when to cut yourself some slack (if you have a panic attack, so what? its a disease you do what you can to control it but sometimes its out of your control, and it sounds to me like your family knows this).

Something that has helped me from time to time is to try to find some perspective. The fact that we are talking about this on a computer from across the internet is AMAZING, the fact that you can read, write type and poses the mental capacity to articulate your thoughts means that you have led a better life than many.

Hang in there.

Has anyone ever been scared to eat because of anxiety and panic attacks? How did you get over it?

There are excellent answers here on this post. My case was different in that I was not scared of eating, but i could not eat due to high anxiety, One of the bodily symptoms of severe anxiety and the current antidepressants at the time, was a dry mouth and trouble swallowing (a lump in the throat feeling). I was lucky to eat food that had more water content, ( like a shake), and was able to go back to normal eating after a short time. I had the help of a counselor to address it early on so that it did not reach the extreme that many people can get to. I also just had a loss of appetite that is not unusual when people have frequent panic attacks (or Panic Attack disorder). Once My anxiety level went down overall, I could eat normally.

I woke up feeling almost like I was dying last night?

Sounds like you could have a real sleeping disorder. You should talk with your doctor just to be on the safe side. My brother has a disorder where he stops breathing sometimes while he is sleeping. It can be dangerous given the right situation. You may have had a one time experience because you were so tired, who knows?
