I have a question about investing in options, instead of letting the option expire so I have to close my position, can I trade my contract just like I would trade a stock? Theoretically limiting my risk to only having no one want to buy my call option for example. If that isn't clear, for example, say I buy one call contract for xyz stock for Dec 11th. It is currently trading at 1.52, so If I buy one contract I would have invested $152.00. As Dec draws nearer, the price of XYZ skyrockets, so by options is now priced at 2.00. Can I sell that to an investor, resulting in my makign $48.00 (ignoring commission and fees)? Thanks! I hope that was clear :) My main concern is that I don't have enough capital to actually exercise and buy the stock.
