How Do I Find Old Teachers

How Should I Greet My Old Teachers?

Show them the respect of calling them as you did in class Mr. or Miss; or Professor followed by their last name until they give you leave otherwise.

Follow their lead. If they extend a hand shake it, if they hug you hug back. If they peck your cheek I don't thing the world will end if you peck lightly back.

Just becuase you are an adult does not mean you should not give them the same respect you gave them as a student.

Is it okay to visit your old teachers? =/?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that! I am a teacher, and when I decided to become a teacher, I went back to My favorite Elementary, Middle, and High School Teachers and told them that all three of them influenced my decision. My elementary school teacher influenced me by saying how much fun she had teaching and seeing her pupils grow up into wonderful young adults. My Middle School teacher basically did the same thing. My High School teacher, I had for Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. He had such a fun time teaching, that that is when I finally made my decision. I often go back to my hometown and visit all of my old teachers, and they enjoy hearing stories about my students, and I as well enjoy hearing stories about their current teachers. Now, I have been teaching High School Mathematics for about 9 years, so that means that I have had about 8-9 classes (school year graduation) in my teaching life, and I often have visitors at least once a week, and I enjoy spending time with them. A couple of them even told me that I was the one that influenced them to become a teacher. The first time I heard this, it was a student that I had for one year, in AP Calculus. She was a bright young lady. She made all A's. When she came back 6 years later, I was in my 7th year teaching. She said that she had graduated with a Master's in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics and that she was teaching Calculus, I was so proud that I almost cried. Influencing students to become teachers is the best feeling in the world! Hope I helped, sorry that It's quite "rambly!"

How do I send an e-mail to an old teacher?

I personally would make it sound like a message to an old buddy, but just with sme extra respect. Possibly:

"Dear Miss Smith,
Hello! I'm one of your students, John Doe, from your math class four years ago. Wow it's been a long time. I just recently happened upon your e-mail address and really wanted to talk to you again. I really enjoyed your class a lot and you've been a very positively influential teacher in my life. I want to say thank you, and ask how you're doing.
Your faithful student,
John Doe"

It's what I would do, and I have many teachers/professors that really like me.

How can I find an old teacher?

No idea how old you are or how long you been out of school. If it is a small community, might not be so hard, just check the phone directory. If larger community or they may have moved away, check with the school administration. They might not give you the contact information, but they might get a message to the teacher you want to contact them and let the teacher take lead on getting in touch with you. Good luck.

Would it be weird to email an old teacher?

I graduated three years ago, but I was back at my old high school last night for an event for my younger sister, and I saw my old guidance counselor there. I smiled and said "hi" and we asked each other how we were, but that was it. This guidance counselor was seriously amazing and helped me so much with troubles I was having througout 11th adn 12th grade. I feel bad I didn't hug her and only talked to her for a minute, but I get so nervous in social situations like that.

Anyway, I was thinking of sending her a quick email today on her school email (they have them online), just saying how nice it was to see her and that I still appreciate everything she did for me. Would that be weird? I don't want to seem creepy, or be annoying since I know she's probably busy.

Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks.

Is age 60 too old to be a school teacher?

Well, no. One is never too old to do anything, pretty much. All depends on the person, their condition, their training, etc. This question needs a lot more detail. What does the 60-year-old plan to teach? Have they taught before? Do they have any required certification?Have they chosen a particular field? Do they want to teach as a profession (i.e., for pay) or are they looking to work gratis for a specific purpose (e.g., helping adults with literacy)? Are we talking part-time basis (10 hours / week? 20 hours / week?) or full-time basis? Teaching groups (as in a traditional classroom) or tutoring housebound students? One-on-one teaching - for students who are struggling in a particular subject? Online teaching (which can be livestreame, podcast, videos)? There is more variety in “school teaching” than ever before, and most of them aren’t tied to a brick building anymore. If you’re 60+ and interested in teaching, make some choices (what do you want to teach? elementary or secondary education? adult continuing ed?), then do some research (qualifications and requirements) then decide what you want to do.

I'm 58. Am I too old to become a teacher?

I personally feel that at 58 you are at your BEST TIME to become a teacher. Why?Because I am sure by 58 you must have gathered enough life experiences and learned enough lessons to share them with your students differently. However, you will need to look at the label “teacher” a bit differently and plan your act accordingly. There are teachers who choose to go the conventional way, and then there are others who walk the paths less trodden.First of all get a clarity about what is it that want to teach and then design your plan around it.The world is pretty big and you have more than enough space for you out there. All the best.

I need help looking for an old teacher!!?

I'm a junior in high school and i really want to find my teacher from 5th grade. She was my favorite teacher and she went to a different school and i don't know what school she transferred to. Does anyone know a website where I can find an old teacher..?

How do I get in touch with my old school teacher?

You can normally find them on facebook, linkedin or other social media. Almost everyone has some sort of online presence - but not all teachers are easy to find on FB especially.Try keywords in your searches - so include names of schools you know they taught in, and locations - e.g. ‘Mr Horace Smith Birmingham Alabama’ ‘Horace Smith Dotheboys Hall Birmingham’It’s going to be much harder if they’re retired. If you’ve tried most of the obvious searches, you can check with your old classmates - they might be able to help.If you are still stuck, contact the school. It’s highly likely that there will still be someone there who will be able to pass on a message for you. They will not release the contact details for you, but I am sure they will be able to send on a letter/card/whatever if you ask nicely and are careful to explain about the special place the school holds in your heart.Bear in mind that a lot of teachers deliberately keep all their privacy settings very tight to keep their private lives private from students and ex-students. Doesn’t mean we don’t like you, doesn’t mean we wouldn’t be delighted to hear about what you’re doing now …. just means that we’re keeping a professional distance. Please don’t put out a big plea with a photo on facebook, that’s not respectful of your ex-teacher’s privacy. Please also don’t be upset if your teacher doesn’t reply. Not all will - but they might still be appreciative of your gesture.Good luck
