How Do I Get A First Job

What was your first job?

My first real job with a paycheck was working in the kitchen at a country club restaurant, I made $1.75 an hour. Before that I babysat and shoveled snow in the winter. The snow shoveling was the best pay.

What age did you get your first job?

Age 12, in rural Idaho ... my cousin and I got jobs "rogueing wheat" (where a crew of 8 or 9 people spread out and walk through fields of wheat, pulling out "rogue" weeds) ... working 40 hours a week, over the course of seven weeks or so, I made around $285 dollars (it was 1984).

My parents encouraged me to save my money instead of spend it ... so I did ... and then they surprised me by telling me that I would be buying my school clothes that year ... yay ... I guess. It did teach me a lesson, though, that money doesn't just grow on trees.

How do you get your first job?

Im 16 and have been trying to get a job for about 6 months. I have applied everywhere I can think of that will hire at this age. Ive followed up on all my applications and they just wont hire me. I've been doing everything possible to get a job. I have applied to at least 30 places just in the past couple weeks. My dad is starting to get mad at me because I haven't got a job yet and when I tell him that no one is willing to hire a 16 year old with no work history he always says that's not an excuse and that I must not be trying. I am about ready to just give up. The reason I have to get a job is because my step mom is cheap and doesn't want to pay the half of my insurance that she is supposed to pay. She said that if I don't get a job soon than she is going to Make my mom pay for it all when she can barely pay the bills. My mom already pays for my gas the only thing my step mom has to pay is like $50 a month for my insurance. I go to the place to apply I get the application, I meet the manager, I fill it out and return it the next day directly to the manager, I call a couple days later to make sure the manager has reviewed my application and to let him know that I am really interested in the job. Is there anything else to do. My dad said to call them every day and ask about my application but wouldn't that annoy them and make them not want to hire me please help

What is an easy first job?

To tell the truth, I don't think there necessarily is an easy first job. If it were easy, it wouldn't be work. I can eliminate a few for you. My first job was as a dishwasher (not easy), & then I became a cook (even harder). Then, I went on to work at a convenience store (still not easy). Later on, I worked as a cashier in a dollar store (easier, but still some hard work). Once I got my degree to work as a radiographer, I found this wasn't easy, either. Now, I've recently gotten another degree, & have tried my hand at teaching in college as a backup job. Guess what? This one is tough, too.

So, what job have I had that was easy? None, but there was one that was close, & meets several of your requirements. People were friendly, they did teach me the job well, & I had plenty of opportunity to meet new people. The pay was minimum wage, but with no experience, unless you have a degree, this is probably about the best you can expect starting out, because you often have to spend some time in the trenches before you get considered for higher paying jobs. The job I had that you might like was a work-study library aide, when I was in college. The catch is you have to be in college to get that job, but that's a bonus, too. You get an education for a better job in the future, & there's almost no better place to meet people & make friends than college.

Now, if you aren't old enough for college, here's another one I would recommend, though I have no experience in the field: telemarketer. While the people on the phone may not be friendly, the people you work with likely will be. I've also heard telemarketers often make more than minimum wage, but I don't know that for sure. As for teaching the job, they'll teach you, & I can't imagine there's much to learn. You might consider this path.

How do you pick your first job in elsword?

Theirs two parts to the job change. First part the Preperation, and the Second the Branch.

The board, is on the towns or in the Middle Field. You can miss it its a brown board with papers on it with a Exclamation point coming out. no way you can miss it. If you see Hoffman check if their is a quest button in his speach. Go to quests on the tab and it should have a purple sticker their that says Job on it and the title of the quest Guardian. Once you complete the Prep line, it will then give you the choices for what Job Branch you want (Fury, Shooting, or Shelling).

Though this is what I know before Field Introduction. Not completely sure but I think most Quests now are autamatically added, If you can't find it on the board. Check your Quest List, and see if you already have the quest on you.

How should you choose your first job out of college?

First of all ask yourself if you are likely to be looking for a job or a career?A job is something that if you start doing next month you will be likely be doing more or less the same 5 years from nowA career is an evolving path where you start in a position with the goal of moving to another one in a couple of years, and another after a couple and so on.You might change your view on which of the two you like to achieve based on where you are in your life but it will be easier for you to be happy the sooner you figure what you are looking for.You should also be asking yourself what are the top 3 things you think you will value in a work place. It is not easy to find the perfect job with all the following aligning for you, that is why you should at least be clear on which are the most important to YOU (I will use the word job but read it as career if you are looking for that):Team (smart, willing to help you) vs a rather autonomous jobWork/life balance: flexible hours vs stable schedule, or long hours vs regular office hours, or nights and weekendsCompensation (some jobs pay more than others, if compensation is one of your main ones ask yourself what else would you be willing to give up of the other criteria since that is usually the case)Passion: will you LIKE to do that job? You have to get out of bed every day for it, will you be happy to?Logistics: are you willing to relocate or spend 2 or 3 hours in a car every day? How will your relationships be affected by that?Ethics: do you care about what is the outcome of your work? It is not the same thing to be working for a cigarettes company as for one that creates solar panels. I am not saying necessarily that one is better than the other but you might want to figure if it is aligned with your values.Personal realization: how probable is it that you will be good at doing it and will feel gratified by that.If you are not too sure, maybe not jump on the first opportunity but also avoid loosing all the opportunity because of “analysis paralysis”. You can start doing what you feel can work out and pretty quickly you will realize if it works or not. You will have a chance to adjust your aim.Best of luck!!
