How Do I Get A Youtube Video To Work On Powerpoint 2010

What is the best video format for PowerPoint?

It depends on which version you intend to have you presentation viewed. For PowerPoint 2010 and earlier on a PC, WMV is the preferred format for video that is embedded in PowerPoint. Mac versions of PowerPoint 2011 and earlier will happily play embedded WMV video, but due to Apple's QuickTime, they will also play most any format that QuickTime will support. The problem comes when you create a presentation on the Mac using non-WMV video and try to play it on a PC that may or may not have QuickTime installed. The ONLY safe way to be sure you presentation will play successfully on all versions prior to PPT 2011 is to use WMV.GOING FORWARD, however, PPT 2013 on the PC and 2015 on the MAC have both switched to h.264 based media for their video - you MUST use this format if you intend your video to play back in the PowerPoint app on an iPad, and in the Web versions of PPT as well.h.264 video formats can typically end in .mp4, .m4v, .mov, or even .avi. As long as you KNOW FOR SURE that the video file you have is encoded with h.264, you can probably change the file extension from any of these to .mp4 which seems to keep PPT happiest. Also, under the app settings tab on the PC, you can always choose "Optimize Media" which will recompress your media into a format that PPT will be happy with. (Although it may degrade your original footage somewhat...) A variation of this has just been included in the new Mac 2015 version of PPT as well.If your question was simply about video pixel size and you are still awake after reading the above, 720p (1280 x 720 pixels) widescreen video is the safest balance between quality and file size that will play well on most screens and iPad format PPT as well. If your presentation is old-school 4x3, then 480p is a minimum to look good. (640 x 480 pixels)Of course the WMV and h.264 info from above is still relevant wether you are using 16x9 or 4x3 video.Good luck!

Is it possible to insert a YouTube video into a PowerPoint presentation? If so, how?

Solution One: Add YouTube Videos into PowerPoint as a local fileFirst download the YouTube video to your computer. As we know, most YouTube videos are FLV or MP4 files. All in all, PowerPoint can only understand WMV, AVI, MPEG video if we have Windows PC. Hence, to insert YouTube videos to PPT, we need to transfer the videos from YouTube resource to WMV, AVI firstly. To accomplish the task, you need to seek help from a YouTube Video converter that supports the YouTube video input and WMV, AVI output. Here Brorsoft Video Converter is highly recommended to help you achieve your task. This program can help you easily and quickly encode YouTube videos to PowerPoint friendly AVI, WMV. Plus, with it you can also convert YouTube video to any other popular video formats, such as MOV, MPEG, DivX, XviD, 3GP, VOB, etc. Besides, the built-in video editor lets you personalize your video.Solution Two: Embed YouTube Videos into PowerPoint directlyThis is the recommended option if you are sure that the presentation venue will have good Internet connectivity. Download and install the YouTube Wizard plug-in and it will add a new "Insert YouTube Video" command to your PowerPoint Toolbar. You simply have to type the URL of the YouTube video and follow the wizard to embed the YouTube video player in your current PowerPoint slide. You can re-size and reposition the video player just like any other object on the slide.Note: The problem with this approach is that it streams live YouTube videos and thus an internet connection is required to playback the video during the slideshow. If you plan to deliver a presentation in a classroom where there will be no internet, the first approach is the only workable way.

How can I make videos using PowerPoint?

PowerPoint is probably the easiest video creation tool available.Older versions did not support video export, and even fairly recent ones did not work with looping sound. The best version for making videos from PowerPoint is PowerPoint 2016 for Windows, especially the subscription version that’s part of Office 365. Why the subscription version? Because it includes Morph, an amazing transition effect that takes PowerPoint videos to a new level. So now let me answer your original question.First create your presentation exactly as you want your video to appear. This means that there should be no clicks needed. Everything, especially any animations, transitions, audio, or video must play automatically without intervention.Next choose to export your video. In PowerPoint 2016, you would choose File | Export | Create a Video. You get to choose from three video quality options:Presentation Quality, 1920 x 1080, ends up with the largest file sizeInternet Quality, 1280 x 720, ends up with medium file sizeLow Quality, 852 x 480, ends up with the smallest file sizeThen click the Create Video button. For similar instructions on PowerPoint 2013, look here: PowerPoint 2013 Tutorials - Export a Presentation to a Video ClipWith practice, you can become a pro at creating videos in PowerPoint. Look at this showcase video that my friends at INSCALE created.Source: INSCALE’s PowerPoint ShowcaseHere’s another one they created using the Morph transition.Source: INSCALE and PowerPoint’s Morph TransitionTo learn more about PowerPoint animations and transitions, explore tutorials on my site, Indezine at PowerPoint Tutorials.

Why won't my video play in my powerpoint?

Unless you are using PowerPoint 2010 (which you aren't), videos do NOT embed in your PowerPoint file. Here's the workaround...

Close your PowerPoint file. Make a new folder on your desktop and put the PowerPoint file and all of the video files you are going to use in that folder.

Open your PowerPoint file. Delete the inserted videos and re-insert them from the folder. You are creating a link that tells PowerPoint to first look in the folder with the ppt file for any media.

Save the file. When you go to transfer it to another computer via USB stick or burning a data CD or whatever, transfer the entire folder. Then put the entire folder on the other computer and run the presentation from that folder. There is a 99% chance this will work and, worse case scenario, you can always re-insert the videos at school.

Why won't my Powerpoint video work on other computers?

Videos will embed in a file if you are using PowerPoint 2010, but they will only play back on 2010, any other version and you won't see them. Making or playing back in any older version (2003, 2007) does not embed the video, it only links it. So...

Close your PowerPoint, make a new folder. Put your PowerPoint file and the movie into the folder. Open up the PowerPoint, go to the slide with the movie and delete the movie. Reinsert the movie onto the slide. When you copy the file to your thumbdrive (or whatever) copy the entire folder. Then copy that folder onto the school computer.

PowerPoint first looks for movies in the same place the file is, so this works 99% of the time. And worse case scenario - if it doesn't, you have the movie with you to reinsert.
