How Do I Get My Coworker To Do Her Job At A Company Where It Is Nearly Impossible To Get Fired

What is the life of an IT employee after being fired from a company?

Well I'm too young and inexperienced to answer this but still I would like to share my experience.I completed my graduation (BE) in 2016 and had no thoughts about building my career. My field of study was computers so I took up Java training in one of the excellent institutes in Bengaluru (India) recommeded by one my friend. My training was going well. It took 5 months for completing whole Java with 2 projects.Meanwhile I was attending drives but was not clearing the interviews so I was quite frustrated.Later after doing some research on career growth as a software developer engineer, I saw there would be vast growth in Mobile Technology so I developed interest in building apps.I took Android development course in the same institute, a month later after completion of Java, concentrated more on Android learning, the components, procedures, designs etc., Built a small app which boosted my confidence level.Luckily I cleared my 1st interview on Android developer position in a start-up company and got the job there.I joined the company in July 2017, I started working on a project directly, everything was going good for 2 months. We were 9 members in our team or whole company I can say! In different fields like Front end, Php developer, Java, Android(Me) and iOS platform. From second month we didn't get our salary for 4 months. Company people were giving reasons like they are out of money, searching for investors and other shitty reasons, we trusted them as they were giving dates for paying all our dues. Here came this day, November 15th 2017, they had told to pay on this day all our previous dues.He is not manager but a co-founder called us and said we are going to shut the company bcoz of lack of fund. You people have to leave now, we'll call you back when we get enough money and started saying all philosophy about career and all, we were feeling mixed emotions while listening to him.He asked us to officially give the resignation letter.P.S out of 9 I'm the only person live with my parents in the city, others are from different places living from their earnings. And November 15th was my birthday, returned home with no money and job. (One of worst b'day gift)It was birthday to one of the co-founder as well and he didn't come on that day to the office. My concern is about all my colleagues coz without money how will they survive in this city, paying rent, travelling cost etc.,

Why is my co-worker trying to get me fired? How can I deal with this?

Without knowing the details hard to say. The way to deal with this is first realize no coworker has the authority to fire you unless they are your boss or someone really high up in management even then they need a back up to show evidence or reasons why they would be firing you. A coworker can’t fire you just cause they personally don’t like you without just cause. If this coworker tries to make you look bad tells lies or puts dirt on you it’s only a matter of time before the truth comes out. I would take the matter to my supervisor at least this way it will be out in the open that a coworker is trying to hurt and affect your job. If it’s inappropriate behavior the matter will be taken up with HR to see if this coworker needs disciplinary action taken.Don’t worry about it. No one can push you out the company without cause. I believe in karma. Don’t allow anyone to take your peace and joy. Don’t give your coworkers the satisfaction. Be civil and respectful. Stand your ground. With time it will work itself out. It’s your work performance that counts.

What was the most surprising reason why a co-worker was fired?

When subcontracting on two different projects for an agency within the USG (the boring side, not Snowden stuff), there was a senior career supervisor (GS-14) who had a whiteboard with a number (114, 113, 112…) that he updated every day, indicating the number of days remaining before he was eligible to retire.I didn’t work with him but he was friendly and had never worked for anyone except Uncle Sam, and his department issued government loan guarantees for rural businesses unable to get financing from their banks unless the USA promised to pay if the small business couldn’t.(Note: Many of the folks who depend on these rural businesses hate the ‘Deep State’, oppose taxpayer ‘handouts’ and reflexively criticize Big Government as the enemy of free markets — these people are the primary beneficiaries of programs like this one. Ironic.)Back to the story: once this supervisor’s whiteboard was around the 60 day mark, two stern fellows and what I think was a guard marched in and escorted him out of the building. Nobody said a word.I say this as a compliment: USG employees are world-class practitioners of the gossip arts — if something needs to be known, it is made known without anyone saying a word. And it’s always accurate. Always.I wasn’t connected to the gossip network — contractors need not apply — but my liason was. He asked me if I knew about the Whiteboard Guy, and told me what happened: a well-connected businessman had applied for a very large loan guarantee, but didn’t get one because his bank had already opened a massive credit line that was untapped. The company didn’t need any help. The Whiteboard Guy made the decision. The rural business guy didn't like being rejected. Strings were pulled and favors called in (the gossip always omits names and attribution)… Since it is very hard to fire career USG people (unlike the private sector), the scorned businessman got his revenge in a petty way straight out of a movie: the supervisor was reassigned for the last 60 days of his 20 year career, stamping letters in a windowless sub-basement where a single steel desk had been placed in a giant room where old document archives were his only companion. The happy ending? Apparently, solitude and repetitive tasks were the supervisor’s idea of heaven… “a wonderful retirement gift.”I love the Deep State.

Co-worker got fired for selling cigarettes can she get unemployment.?

My friend, co-worker, just recently got fired for selling cigarettes to minor. She asked for the id and took a quick glace at it and then sold the cigarettes. It was busy that day at work and the unexpectable happened. She accidentally sold them. She has a family of 5 with one child who has autism and all children are under the age of 21. She really needs money to survive. I was wondering if she will be able to get unemployment. She is sooo devastated from this. She is a very good person. I had advised her to apply right away for benefits and if they deny her to appeal and appeal until so. I told her to be strong and I know this will also be hard for her to get another job. Any help will be appreciated.

Lazy coworker? What do I do? My office isn't fair.?

No one likes a snitch. These things ALWAYS work themselves out. Karma is an incredible force in the workplace. Here's how I've handled it, and how I've told my employees to handle it:

Don't every cover for the lazy one. Don't point fingers (it makes you look like you can't handle yourself, in a way), but don't do their work either.

If you are on a team with that person, assign them menial things. Make sure you do a great job, and sneak more credit onto your shoulders than the lazy bums. It's easier than it sounds.

Take charge. Tell her to knock it off and get to work. If you create an environment where her co-workers are all noticing her slacking, she won't feel very welcome.

If none of that works, I would suggest to the boss to keep an eye on her. I wouldn't go so far as to provide proof though...the boss will have to get their own proof anyway, in order to make sure thier is no appearence of bias and not get sued for terminating her. Good luck!

Will being fired hurt my chance at a next job?

What is great about you is your honesty, especially since you are describing a problem you have. So, many people want to pretend they are perfect. What is also good is that you didn't hit a person, you were verbally abusive and you were physically violent in front of a customer, but you didn't hit anyone and that is a plus. You'll notice in your anger management classes that some of the others have had physical contact with animals and people.

Check out anger management books from one of your local libraries or buy them cheaply from Amazon. Read them now. See if you can effectively address the problem prior to landing at your next job so you can have a chance at success. It hurts to be fired from a job and it can affect self-esteem. You need to go into your next job with confidence.

You could fill out something like ten applications. At least one of the places will not check your past job references.
