How Do I Get My Original Yahoo Site Back Emoticons Colors Fonts Etc. The

In Yahoo mail, why are the italics, BOLD, and font s, and colors not showing on my reply or new mail screen?

You have to be in the "Rich Text" mode, which activates the "formatting" toolbar.

After clicking on New (or Compose) or Forward----look for and click the link--"Rich Text"--(usually at the end of the subject line)--and the toolbar will appear in Classic. In the new upgraded version, the word "Format" will appear on the top of the composing page, and you'll have to click that to open the formatting action.

If you don't see that link (Rich Text) then you're probably already in that mode----in which case, look for the "Format" tab

Or try this if you aren't sure.
Mail page>>options>>mail options>>and the "general" page opens.
Scroll down to and check the button that says----"compose with color and graphics"------------then click "save changes" at the top of the page.

In Classic that will open the toolbar.
In the upgraded version, that will allow the "Format" tab to show.

How do I get back bold, underline, font choice, etc. when composing email?

It should be there... on the top of the page, but with the new yahoo, it isn't. That would be the B I U, and font and color choices when I write an email. IT USED TO BE SO SIMPLE, SO EASY TO UNDERSTAND!!
Also, it is difficult to click different email addressed you want to receive the email you are writing. I can't get that done either.
You people have screwed up what was a comfortable, easy to understand email system. Why did you screw this up? Whoever designed this new yahoo has ruined things and I'm sure was wayyyyyy overpaid for their "expertise".

My Yahoo Email toolbar disappeared. How do I get it back?

My Yahoo Email toolbar disappeared. How do I get it back?
When I go to the Compose a Message to do an Email, I have noticed that my "email toolbar (i.e., Spell Check / Font face / Font Size / Bold / Italic / Underline / Text Color / Highlight Color / Insert emotion icon / etc.) These buttons (and the icons) have disappeared. The only way I can see them is if I run the cursor across the button face. How do I get the buttons to show up again?

To LoneStar:
I have tried that one and it may have worked in other situations but (unfortunately) not for me.
I fixed it by going to the toolbar menu and scrolled down to the "Options" button, then clicked the "Content Tab" and then do the appropriate action "block or allow" said issue. It worked. It had somehow considered the email toolbar buttons (I assume) to be like pop-ups and blocked the icons from showing up. Thank You all the same. At least I did try what you suggested.

In Yahoo mail, why can't I make bold, italic, and underline work?

The underline icon has been omitted but you can still underline text. Highlight the text you want underlined then press CTRL + U (for Windows) or CMD + U (for Mac).

*To highlight text: Press and hold the left-button on your mouse while moving your cursor over the text.

Yahoo denies there are any problems with emoticons, bold, italic, etc. and encourages users to try each of the steps outlined in this Yahoo Help article:

What are your earliest memories of the arrival of the Internet?

My first use of "the internet" was a step backward.  My father was a communications and electronics officer in the Air Force, and a radio amateur from his boyhood.  In the early 1950s, we talked to family and friends from wherever we were, all over the world, using "phone patches."  "Bandwidth" was almost never an issue, because there weren't that many stations on the air at any given moment -- The issue was connectivity, because we might not be able to receive signals from our desired stations/locations or have our signal be heard. The first digital computer I ever saw was in 1957.  The system was about three years old, using massive arrays of vacuum tubes instead of transistors and taking up whole floors of a building.  The building had to be refrigerated to control the heat generated by the vacuum tubes.  The system had dedicated phone lines, often with microwave links, to connect to radar sites' readout screens. In 1980, I used amateur radio from South America to talk to my Dad, and we dabbled with using our little Timex Zenith computer to send morse code and teletype over the radio.  We needed a little modem board, an old TV for a display and a tape deck for loading programs.  By 1984-85, I was using a Radio Shack TRS-80 to send magazine articles by phone for work, and using Bulletin Board Systems for chat and messages.  When I finally got a Radio Shack desktop with Intel386-chip running MS-DOS and a terminal program, I was well into addiction mode.I can't even remember the name of the first "browser" I used or whether the operating system that we ran it on was DOS or Windows.
