How Do I Get Rid Of A Bump Left From A Piercing Infection

How can I treat an infected ear piercing bump?

i got rid of all my piercings bumps by first cleaning them religiously with saline until they were no longer pus-y. Make sure its dry, don't slather it in saline because you think that would clean it properly! Then i started to apply wheat germ oil to it religiously - the skin would dry up, (gross but bear with) id pick it off and then apply more oil. i'd say it takes a few weeks for it to go but that's worked for all three of my piercing bumps

How do I get rid of a bump left from a piercing infection?

So I recently got 2 helix piercing. One of them got infected and when I went to the doctor he required i take it out and let it heal by soap cleaning it 2 a day and taking antibiotics. Ear piercing infected?... lump on neck?

Swollen lymph node. That usually happens when your bodies fighting an infection. 4months ago is a long time though. Possibly an allergic reaction to what material is in your ear?
If you want them bad enough just clean them daily and a salt water combo helps a lot. If there's open skin on your ear, don't touch it. Wash your hands BEFORE cleaning your piercing. Use antibacterial soap and a Qtip

My nose piercing infection and 'bump' won't go away, what do I do??

Hi, I got my nose pierced at the end of August and it was healing just fine. Then about 2 months ago I got that 'bump' that everyone talks about, so I was taking really good care of it by cleaning like crazy. Then it got infected.. like I mean it was pussing! So I kept cleaning it and I have a 14kt gold stud in there so it can't be bothered by the jewelry. So I went to the doctors and I got some anti-biotics to help fight the infection, and it worked. The infection went away, along with the 'bump'. But not even a few days after it was all gone, the damn 'bump' came back and now it's infected again! I don't know what to do, I suppose I could take it out but I just worked so hard to keep it and I really like having it. If anyone knows what I should do please help! Thanks...

Is it okay to take out a nose piercing that has an irritation bump?

It depends on what caused the bump. There are a number of different types of bumps including excess scarring, excess granulation tissue, and what I call a “localized piercing pimple.” If it is the first one, there’s a remedy that is effective, but it is a silicone disc that gets applied to the jewelry. So, if the jewelry is taken out, this resolution cannot be used.If it is a localized piercing pimple, and there’s drainage, removing the jewelry can block access for the pathway of matter to the surface, and this can even result in an abscess, which is worse. However, it is critical that if jewelry be left in, that it is of an appropriate size, style, material, and quality. (No earrings! No silver! and so on….)Finally, if the bump is excess granulation tissue, then removing the jewelry will usually resolve that issue. Each type is described in detail in The Piercing Bible, with suggestions on what to do. But if you cannot figure out which type of bump you have, I offer professional online consultations for piercing problems.

What do you do if an ear piercing gets infected?

Keep it as clean as you can and go consult a doctor as soon as possible. Please don't wait for the infected piercing to get better because chances are, it wwontamd will instead cause you a lot (I know of people who have had to undergo surgery for this).

What are the signs of an infected ear piercing?

A little pain is normal—that doesn't sound like an infection to me. Try to leave it alone as much as possible. It's normal for the two sides to heal at different rates, for example, if that's the side you sleep on.Signs of infection are the redness, pus, and bump you mentioned, also heat coming from the area, swollen lymph nodes nearby, swelling in general, and red streaks towards your heart (which is, like, emergency-room levels of bad). When my lobe piercing got infected from sloppy stretching, it swelled up, got hard and slightly red, radiated heat, and oozed stuff (for a healing piercing, some discharge is normal, but mine had been healed for YEARS and shouldn't have been oozing anything). Plus, the lymph node right under my ear was also swollen. I was able to take care of it at home with no problem, through careful and dedicated application of antibiotic ointment like you put on band-aids. Not all infections are emergencies.

What is the best way to treat an infected belly button piercing?

Best advice is to consult your piercer, they typically will take care of you until the piercing has fully healed.  If you can move your torso around, touch or bump the jewelry and not scream in awful pain, it is likely that it is not infected but instead, irritated.  Without seeing the piercing and discharge, I am unable to give a more clear answer.  I can tell you from my personal experience, though, that I had a genital piercing which took 9 months to fully heal.  During the healing period, I followed all after-care procedures to the letter and it became irritated three times.  It was slightly red and irritated and oozing a ton of clear/whiteish lymph.  Each of those three times, I consulted my piercer who took one look at it and immeidately said, "It's not infected, it's irritated, just continue with your aftercare and leave it alone until it heals."  On my third visit, he volunteered the information above, that if you can touch or move the jewelry without doubling over in pain, it's likely not infected.  Here is another resource for you:  How to Tell if a Piercing Is Infected

Bump on my belly button piercing?

i have something similiar to you do. i also thought it was infected and went to the doctor and they told me to take it out. and of course, i left it in. it turns out it is called a keloid (sp). it is simply a bump of scar tissue. mine is rather quite large and i freaked out when i realized it was there too. i picked and pinched at it until it bleed. i also only had a clear/ white discharge. I also tried stabbing it with a needle because i thought maybe it was a puss pocket and that it needed to be violently popped. lol. but nothing happened. i then called the shop where i got it done and they said to put tea tree oil on it to help remove the excess tissue. but that didn't work either. it only left me smelling like a hippie, needless to say, it REALLY smelled funky. lol. So i gave up on that too. i eventually gave up on trying to get rid of this bump, and it turns out, that there is really nothing wrong with it, just for built up scar tissue. my belly button piercing is doing fine and once i quit trying to get stuff out, it healed and the tissue is slowly getting smaller.

i would suggest leaving it alone unless it has colored discharge, then i would go to a doctor cause it is probably infected. sorry :(
