How Do I Get The Cable Back On The Box Is On But It

How to get my cable back on my tv?

Okay so what happened was that I had the cable on, I have Time Warner Cable by the way. So, I accidentally pressed the "tv" button on the remote, then pressed select twice. Apparently, when I pressed select the first time, a favorites menu showed up and when I pressed select the second time, I ended up selecting on of the favorites channels. After I did that, the screen went to the black and white static screen that occurs when you go to a channel that you can't access. Now, after that I began sort of freaking out because I tried getting the cable to turn back on, but the television stays on the static channel. I tried the "video source" button after I pressed the "tv" button again, but there is now just a black screen. So, does anyone know how to get my tv to go back the cable again?

hit it with a hammer then call comcast and state that it stopped working but make a huge deal out of it if you can name your congressman or local franchise official for the state or cable commission then you get all sorts of shit for free since comcast is spineless against customers that complain they are so hated intact that they have committed billions of dollars ( yes i said BILLIONS) in a new customer service campaign to find out why they are so hated well guess what they found out ….. yep they spent all that money to find out that yeah people still hate them and they haven't moved the company forward in customer service at all basically they spent tons of cash on a commercial campaign to justify why they gouge people for technology that is shitty at best and why do the loyal customers of 3 years or more get to be shafted by never being eligible for a discount to service? subscriber growth tis important thats why only new subs get promos but subscriber retention is at an all time low and why ? well if your bill went from 110 to 350 overnight would you keep service especially when you call in your directed to a phone tree and navigate that for a half hour before you get the pleasure of speaking to someone in india named lettuce or some shit who tells you they can't help you you need a tech so they send one yeah he will arrive same day sometimes but you probably lucked out and got the dip shit contractor who thinks its your remote thats broken when clearly you hit the fucking thing with a hammer. he’ll replace the remote but feed some bullshit about satellites and the Coriolis affect on the high accumulus and it'll be 30 min or so before it works again leaving you back at square one. seriously comcast robs you…….. rob them back.

There are a few ways to try i.e. unplug, wait 10 seconds, then plug back in may work; however, the better course of action would be to call Xfinity and inform them of issue. They can reset the box, also can determine whether the box or the cable is faulty and even send out a technician to replace box or repair the issue.

Ethically; Technically; and legally there is no reason to pay for a cable box, but financially the cable companies have a franchise that allows them to gouge their subscribers out of as much money as possible, and one of the ways of doing so is by mandating the use of only their equipment which requires mandatory monthly service charges. There has been a rumblings that subscribers be allowed to buy and own their own STB's & or Digital Decoders but the Franchise Owners won't allow that to ever happen. They Own the FCC; all of the State PSC's/ PUC's ; and pay-off all Local Zoning/ Planning/ Franchise Commissions/ Politicians because they have tons of money from ripping us all off. Truth be told I've been working in Telecommunications  for the last 38 years and Service has gone way done; Prices have gone way up; and Regulation has completely disappeared. While it's true that back in the old days it appeared that we didn't have that many services and we had fewer providers, but with today's chaos more competition actually brought us less, better services for sure at much higher unregulated prices and no service standards. Why every house or Apartment doesn't have a fiber connection yet is ridiculous. Everyone should have their choice between 2 fiber providers. Instead today we're lucky if we have 1 and even then they're making non-compete deals with the competition so they can both rip us off. A sad state off affairs. If you actually read your cable bill it's the cable company allocating money to itself. It's just complete nonsense, but to the untrained eye it's never questioned. Cable TV Companies are flipping out because subscribers are going dark. Keeping only the Internet service and getting their Content that way so they're losing what they were making. Be prepared for rate hikes and service upgrades with pricier routers that must be rented from them. And when it rains it'll all go out anyway. You read it here 1st !

How to get the cable back on? Charter TV question. Help please.?

Okay, I got Charter triple play and the TV cable box was installed today. I wasn't home when this happened but my friend said that everything went great except when she tried to change the channels after the guy left. She used the regular TV remote to do so and messed around with it a lot trying to get it back on to the cable. Now I have no idea how to get to the cable/tv stations. It just says no signal. (I went to different inputs) Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I have a 50" vizio

How do I get my TV back to channel 3 to allow cable?

I accidentally pressed the channel down button, and my TV went off of channel 3. Now I can't get it back, it just skips channel 3 and goes from 2 to 4 and back.

First, how do I program my cable remote to affect the TV when I press the "TV" button on it? My remote is silver, and says "Comcast" at the bottom. I can't watch TV as long as this is going on, or even let my brother play his video games.

Second (Rant warning), WHY the HELL do TVs with cable do this!? >8( It's COMPLETELY counter-productive and 100% useless to the cable consumer! I am completed wowed by the fact that they haven't fixed this MAJOR problem yet.

You can unplug the power, and plug it back in, but that doesn't necessarily refresh all the data on the box. You can turn on the TV & cable box, then press and hold the OK/Select button until the display on the cable box starts flashing (it's only one part of the display that flashes; I can't remember which one, but it will be obvious).Press the up arrow on the remote, and follow the menu. There is a reboot option. That may or may not cause the box to contact TWC for a complete refresh. An easy way to get that done is to contact TWC via phone, chat, or even Twitter (@TWC_Help) and ask them to reset your cable box.

How do I get cable TV in my bedroom?

Call Charter and negotiate getting another cable box in that room for no additional cost. If they tell you it will cost extra, tell them that you're going to switch to AT&T unless you get it for free. Chances are they'll give you another standard def box for nothing. Cable companies hate to lose customers. Once people switch, they generally never go back, and cable companies know this.

As long as your account is in good standing, you can put the squeeze on them.

I do it ALL the time.

How do I get missing Comcast cable channels back?

ok there are a few things that you can check...

the channel numbers would help ( ch 3 espn and so on)

First , did you lose power? or unplug the tv? if so check your setting in your tv..ant or cable ( some sets have std, irc or hrc ) check those settings and and run auto program (aka auto tune).

If that did not work check to see if you have a VCR on that can knock some channels out.(if not auto tuned)

since you live in a condo..did someone move in or out? in the same building...if so then what happens is the they could have screwed up your cable in the toner box or ped...( if someone changed there service they could have put a limited filter on your line.. ( in buildings the lines are not marked right or a lazy tech could have jumped you off a neighbor and if they change there service so do you.) in that case you need to call comcast and get them to remove the filter....

you can also check your splitters if one is backward it could knock out channels..( did you add a tv or move the modem) a backward splitter will suck out freq.

hope this helps and good luck
