How Do I Get To Work For The Cdc Am Currently Studying Microbiology

How do I start preparing for a research in microbiology in USA after completing MBBS from Bangladesh?

I am away from the academic field for over 14 years. But I think , if you have a good academic records and have taken some courses and have, then you experiences in microbial diseases and control and some research, then contact professors in the universities or research institutes, like CDC indicating your specific interests. There is one problem with your MBBS degree and it has happened with me with students came to my lab and I am sure with others: students with MBBS are more interested to come to the USA in the pretext they like to come as a student/researcher. Once here, they try to get a medical professional job and disappear. So, be sure to decide your actual reason and then apply the way I have indicated above.

Whats the differences between microbiology and molecular biology?

The other responses are correct about microbiology being the study of protists, bacteria, archaea, some fungi, & viruses. Molecular biology focuses on biological molecules & structures.

Molecular biology has a strong focus on the chemical aspects of biology & covers both eukaryotic & prokaryotic forms. A good microbiology program will ensure that you have a solid foundation in biochemistry because biochem/molecular biology is very important at that scale.

If you want to pursue a career in biology, you should strongly consider going to graduate school & get a PhD. Either major will give you many options as to what to study in grad school. (You can stay a molecular bio undergrad & study microbiology in grad school). Molecular biology is a less specialized major, so you would have more options as to what to study in grad school. However, if you think you want to pursue microbiology as a career, having that undergraduate major would give you a strong foundation on that field.

My medical microbiology prof is a Senior Scientist at the CDC. He is a microbiologist researcher who focuses solely on molecular biology to make better diagnostics for pathogenic infections.

I am doing my B.Tech at IIT Roorkee in biotechnology. What will be the scope of biotechnology in the next few years in India and abroad?

Applications of biotechnology in real life and aspects are mind-boggling.I studied Biotechnology as a core subject in class 12thBiotechnology is one of the world's fastest growing market(in terms of scope)Biotechnology finds application to a number of fields. Some of them are:· Medical and Health Care· Agriculture and Animal Husbandry· Industrial Research and Development· Food Processing· Bio-Processing· Chemical Engineering· Drug Designing and Manufacture· Environment ConservationYou can easily get a job in a big Pharma company but placements are not the primary things you should think of.WHY ALWAYS PLACEMENTS?Why just always think about placements? Is that the only aim for undergraduate students to get a job in some multinational company. Is going for further studies and doing research not essential? That is where I think people started to doubt about the credibility of all  prestigious institutions. We also need to think about the further studies and creating better environment for education.AT THE ENDIndia is witnessing a remarkable growth in the biotechnology sector so need not to worry about the job.If you are able to do well in your exams and in your studies, you will achieve what you want. The salary part in this field totally depends upon your knowledge and grip on the subject.keep smiling and do wellAll the best.P.S- Please think about going for further research.(my personal opinion)

A live blood analysis practitioner told me to take certain supplements, but I feel worse. Can I stop my diet?

I have looked into research from Dr.Hilbert Seeger,MD,PhD and Dr.Luis Vitetta,MD and they have done extensive research into the live blood analysis technique.Infact darfield microscopy is indeed valid and those who have no clue about microbiology would ill speak microscopy and its observations.People apparently who are not educated enough or have an opened mind or even support the fraudulent con artist defamer, misleading liar stephen barrett who attacks anything unconventional is extremely biased and prefers to gossip and they even gather silly information from wikipedia and nonsensical websites for their conclusions. The individuals here should get nutritional advice from nutritionists and not medical doctors who have never studied nutrition but prefer to sell dangerous drugs for every symptom on the market.Apparently the negative comments are from people who have never studied or looked into darkfield microscopy which is ignorant and arrogant.Naive people are easily conned to follow advice from the so called medical community which seems to hide behind the name science when its just marketing, fraud and propaganda.Infact look carefully at vioxx, avandia, zoloft, paxil, accutane etc and they were prescribed by greedy MD's who have caused thousands of people to die or seriously injured by side effects.Yet people attack alternatives which have never gotten one lawsuit.Look at the television, news or newspapers every few months where lawyers are having field days against doctors or pharma companies.Look at psychiatry and the pseudoscience, infact psychiatrists themselves become whistleblowers.I have looked into Gunther Enderlein's work and Antoine Bechamp and they have contributed positively in medicine. There will always be the clowns that pretend to know everything and I see the word quackery used from trigger happy people. However, the word quack refers to a medical pretender and especially the medical practitioner who promises a result but can never achieve it.It never implies for anything unconventional. In that case there are many quacks in the medical field/industry since its the 4th leading cause of death in the world which is a factual study from the WHO and CDC.The clown who wrote "alas you were conned" should google Dr.Luis Vitetta live blood analysis technique and look more into it.Clearly comments here show ridiculous biased, narrow thinking behaviour. Its normal for BIG PHARMA shills who is only interested in profits from pharmaceuticals.

Whats the difference between Biology and Biotechnology?

Biology is the science that studies living organisms. Characteristic life processes and phenomena of living organisms.

Biotechnology is the integration of natural sciences and engineering sciences in order to achieve the application of organisms, cells, parts thereof and molecular analogues for products and services.

Is the CDC or NIH not responsible for informing us if the fecal dust exists or not?

Anyone can call them or write them and find out. There are air borne pathogens and water borne pathogens. It is more of a case of untreated sewage and less than clean water. It is well known that warmth and moisture nurture pathogens. Pathogens only travel on dust, need to land on a medium, and breed and spread. A culture takes about 3 days. Shed skin cells are the major carriers of pathogens, because the human body is always renewing the skin. The most part of indoor dust is dead skin cells.Any other theories need to be specifically proven. Specifically.Face masks pretty much solve all of the problems.

Is your current life anywhere close to what you expected it to be at all?

No, it’s far from what I’ve expected it to be.I was really planning to study Microbiology in UST but I forgot to pay for the entrance fee. I went there to ask if I still can enroll since I passed the exam, but they did not allow me. After that situation, I was really lost. Like what will be my future? My only plan was to study Microbiology for college but it couldn’t happen anymore (it’s the only school that offers Microbiology in Manila). At that time,my parents were in Palawan and I was with my sister. I certainly can’t go back to my previous school because I really don’t like there. They were convincing me to study Pharmacy in the sister school of my previous university so I just agreed, but I don’t want to live in a dorm anymore (it’s a boarding school too). We tried to find an apartment near the school (since my sister’s apartment is far and she cancelled the contract) but we could not find any vacant.I was so determined to study outside our affiliated schools so I searched about the top peforming schools of Pharmacy in Manila. My dad told me to inquire in FEU but I told him that there is no Pharmacy there. I tried to inquire in Adamson, but sadly they have classes on Saturdays (I am a Sabbath keeper). This is FEU.This is Adamson. Then I inquired in PWU since I saw that they’re doing well in board exams and they are a trimestral school so I thought that I would be able to graduate in three years. I enrolled there and yeah, i’m currently studying there. As for my apartment, we found one and i’m currently living beside UST (yes, ironically). This is my current school, Philippine Women’s Umiversity (It’s a Coed University!).It may be far from what I have expected it to be,but I can say that I’m pretty happy with my current life. I’m enjoying and liking Pharmacy and I have new friends too. The university is so kind to the students and I feel that I belong there.

A relative insists that I shouldn't trust what doctors say about vaccines because the topic isn't covered in medical school and doctors only learn about them from manufacturers. Is there ANY truth to this or is it total nonsense?

I'm sorry, but your relative is spouting nonsense. I'm not a medical doctor. I'm a retired Medical Laboratory Technologist. Even in my programme of study we were taught hematology, Clinical microbiology, and immunology.I've attended presentations and lectures on immunodeficiency, the effectiveness of vaccination, among others, presented by doctors, not pharmaceutical reps.I've had patients who were immunocompromised and relied heavily on herd immunity.I'm certain your relative knows nothing about immunology, the different immunoglobulins, and how and why vaccines work.I'm also fairly certain that your relative knows nothing about mutations and that it is the anti-vax/pro-plague folks that are giving organisms and viruses the opportunity to mutate, which in turn, renders current vaccines ineffective.I think it's silly, irresponsible, and threatening to think that getting the disease itself is somehow better than getting a vaccine. It is sad to think that now, scientists and medical professionals must develop new vaccines to once controlled or virtually eliminated diseases. This wasted time and resource, and money, could have been put towards other research and development.
