Is this a good reason for calling off work?
For the last few days my power has been out, as has about 100,000 other people in metro Detroit. I had Monday off of work. My power was out since Mid-Sunday to early Tuesday morning. It was 90-degrees during those days. I called off today (Tuesday) and said I had a lot of clean-up to do. My fridge stank to high heaven, I had to get my cat from my mom's house, the fridge had leaked so the floor was contaminated in thawed chicken juices and whatever else melted and leaked. I called my friend who works directly with me and I let her know the situation, she had NO problem with me being off. I'm just curious as to what my bosses are going to think. I don't want them thinking that I purposely took Tuesday off because my Monday vacation day was so crappy. I have a lot I have to clean and I'm exhausted from not being able to sleep for the past few days. Basically, is me calling off work due to power failure a good enough reason?

And I learned what lesson exactly? I'm sick and haven't been able to sleep.. that being said I am not sick enough that if I was awake I couldn't go. So it isn't like she could really tell I have a sore throat and feel chilled thus couldn't sleep. And all the hospitals in the area could not get me in today. (Not that I really have money for someone to tell me to drink more water and write an excuse) I am telling them they suck because their advice was really bad, and most of the time people do not sympathize with the truth. The reason she gave me for screwing me over in a class I need to do well in is that she has too many students and doesn't want to have to let everybody make up work, so she won't let anyone..
How do you overcome the feeling of missing someone badly who means alot to you?
Even I had the same experience 4years back. I guess everyone crossing this particular point in life where some person who is a stranger becomes more important than the important people who are around us. I completely understand it is not your fault. It is the memories that make the feeling even more stronger. But, let me tell you the truth.Love and missing some is just a momentary thing. The other person may not have the same feelings as you does. We just miss this person who just does not care of what we are doing and we ignore the person’s nearby who is really loving you.The only UNCONDITIONAL LOVE which you get is from your Mother, Period. Mother’s love is just pure. Instead of loving and missing some X person. Love your Mom, Dad and siblings unconditionally and the results which you get will be outstanding. You will know the real meaning of what love is.Suppose you got the X person in your life whom you love unconditionally and been missing badly. Eventually life will make you realise what true love is.LOVE and LIFE are two contradictory things which are on the same boat. When you are loving you will not know the reality of life and when you face the reality of life you will not know what love is all about.I am not being negative here but you should know the true difference of unconditional love and momentary love. Love everyone around you and make your life and their life joyful. No expectations, No Regrets, No pain, No Sorrowfulness.
I have to stop drinking my sorrows away... missing people?
i recently moved away from the town i lived in for 17 years, ive been drinking alot recently when i start to miss my ex boyfriend (who i broke up with because i was moving) and I miss my close friends... i have to stop drinking, because i cant stop missing them.... what things can i do instead of drinking?
Why did people have there thumbs missing on "The Road" movie?
The black guy had both of this thumbs removed and then the good guy at the end with the dog and family had one of his removed to. What was up with that? Where they eating their thumbs instead of eating other people or what?? This was my second time seeing it so I started thinking about it again.
At what point in missing persons cases do police check credit card activity, phone records, etc?
If the person is an adult, police state that the individual has a legal right to "go missing". If the missing adult is a danger to themselves or others, has a medical condition or special needs then more attention will be given to the case. Cases involving minors are given greater attention because they are under a guardian's control - not able to legally be on their own. Once you call in to file a missing persons report, the police will come by to take a report. You will need to know the address of missing persons residence, where they were last seen, when they were last heard from and, if possible, what they were last seen wearing and/or driving. After you have filed the initial police report, you must then go to Police HQ to file the missing persons affidavit. This will officially begin the search. If you do not file the affidavit, the report will go away after three days. Law Enforcement does have the right to look at credit card records if provided to them by a third party, such as a spouse or family member. They will also take cell phone records so that they may call those numbers last used by the missing person. Police will not ping the cell phone signal unless there is suspicion of foul play. If the police DO locate the missing individual - they will not be able to tell you where he is - they can only tell you that they are ok. If ever you find yourself in this situation, call the local jails. The police will run a jail/warrant search after you file a report, but you could eliminate contacting the police if you do this first yourself. Call all area hospitals. Ask not only for the missing person, but whether there are any unidentified persons in the hospital. Hope this helps!

Thats Goth, not Buddhism. learn to appreciate things and not rely on them, if things make you happy thats good, the problem is the reliance, not the thing itself. I love my new pikachu game boy 3ds xl but one day it will break or be stolen or become obsolete. meditation on the breath can make that easier for your very thoughts and personality, to say less of stuff "out there". I think it has to sink in, and that takes time for people.
Why would someone have cut off the tail of a cat that I see around? Is there a good medical reason for doing that?
How do you know someone cut it off?If that cat was a stray, and it had a bite wound abscess, it is quite possible that the tail rotted off, also the cat may have been born without a tail such as a Manx type cat. There is another option that the cat was in an accident where it lost its tail. Degloving injuries happen when a cat’s tail gets caught under something but not enough to cut it off. It is possible that the tail is missing for many reasons. I would not assume that someone cut it off unless there was an abscess or cancer or something that needed to be taken off and then I as a veterinarian would assume that animal had been taken to a veterinarian to have this procedure done. It is doubtful that a cat who had had to have it’s tail amputated would be turned back outside, though it is definitely possible.I would not assume that a person cut it off unless you see stitches. If the cat is eating and drinking normally, is not showing signs of infection, depression, lethargy or inappetence… Then I would assume it is likely OK. If the animal is showing any of the aforementioned signs, I would recommend trying to trap it and getting it veterinary care. If you feel this cat is too wild or savage to be caught, I would advise that you call animal services and explain to them the cat is missing his tail and you're not sure if it is in pain or not.Good luck with that cat! As a teacher I would say the best excuse is the one that is the simplest and maybe closet to the truth. The longer and more detailed the story, the more I'm thinking this is bullshit, just sit down. That's not to say you need to be completly honest with "I just couldn't wake my lazy ass up" either. In fact, it's not only none of my business why you missed my class, nine times out of ten, I don't give a shit. Why don't you try something like "I'm sorry I wasn't in class on Friday, when you have a moment can we meet about what I missed, so I can get caught up?" I will give you a little more insight with common excuses said vs what teachers actually hear when you say those excuses:What you say: " I was working on another's teacher's assignment. What teacher hears: "I don't value your class."You say: "I was sick, here's the proof my doctors note." Teacher hears " I think this is 3rd grade so I brought proof from my doctor that I was hungover."
