How much time should you spend sitting in front of a computer at most?
For health reasons, it's recommended to move every 30 min. to prevent any long sitting hour related health risks.
Parents limiting my computer time?!?
School is over, and I've been on summer vacation for a little over a month now. I expected I'd have a nice quiet time without being told about homework and such, as well as the daily 6AM battle of getting me to school on time. However, my parents decided to limit my computer time this summer; they've NEVER done this before during my vacation time at home. The only time I even get to touch the computer is when my father arrives home from work at the earliest 5PM or 7PM at the latest. Maybe that wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for my bedtime of 8PM, or if I'm lucky, 9PM. Maybe to some of you this seems perfectly fine so I don't spend 12 hours a day gaming, but that's not all I do. Since I don't have a smartphone, I contact my friends through Skype on my computer, but without this computer I cannot talk to them for long periods of time each day. As pitiful as it may sound, that makes me feel unbearably lonely and isolated. I'd go outside but, I have no one to hang out with; I don't enjoy walking in sweltering summer heat by myself. When I finally get my keyboard and mouse back, for my dad takes them to work so I can't use the computer (The lack of trust hurts) I cling to it like this'll be the last time I can talk to my friends.That's how lonely I get.I cannot call my friends on my house phone either for my mother is always using it or my grandmother who constantly calls is on the phone with her. Please give me advice on how to get rid of it this limit, I'm very lonely.
Are we spending too much time on computers?
These days people are consuming much of their quality time, staring at the computer screen especially while surfing the Internet. They often lose track of what priorities such as homework or household chores has to be done. Families ought to get together to discuss this matter of prolonged computer use
